(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of
persecution that took place in 16 cities or counties in 11 provinces. In this
report, 10 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention,
and at least 25 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Beijing] Mr. Lei Zhongfu Taken to Masanjia Forced Labor Camp
The police arrested Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Lei Zhongfu on May 23, 2008,
and recently transferred him to Masanjia Forced Labor Camp.
2. [Zhengzhou City, Henan Province] Ms. Yang Yongsheng Arrested
Officers from the Zhongyuan Police Department's Ludong Village Police Station
arrested 63-year-old Ms. Yang Yongsheng from her home on the afternoon of July
10, 2008, and took her to the No. 2 Custody Center in Xiliuhu.
3. [Wuxi City, Jiangsu Province] Three Falun Gong Practitioners Arrested
Officers from Ronggang Police Station in Binhu District, Wuxi City, arrested
Mr. Luo, Ms. Kuang Shulan, and Ms. Qi Shixiu between early July and August 2008.
They also ransacked the three practitioners' homes.
Prior to the arrests they had monitored Ms. Kuang's home in hope of finding evidence to indict her. Ten police officers and ten plainclothes agents broke into her home in mid July 2008 and arrested her.
Ms. Qi was arrested from her home on the afternoon of August 2, 2008. They turned the place upside-down and also took her computer. All three practitioners were still in police custody as of the writing of this article and were subjected to brainwashing and torture.
Nothing has been heard from Mr. Qian Jiarong, another practitioner who was arrested in mid March 2008.
4. [Zhaoyuan City, Shandong Province] Ms. Fu Caixia Faces Unlawful Trial
Ms. Fu Caixia faces a possible trial despite lack of evidence against her.
5. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Police Ransack Homes
The police ransacked a practitioner's rented sixth-floor residence on
Fangzhengdong Street, Chengdu City. They arrested the practitioner and also
arrested 57-year-old Ms. Xu Li, a practitioner living across from that
residence. The police ransacked both homes.
6. [Tongliao City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region] Three Practitioners
Arrested
A group of Tongliao City Public Security Bureau agents arrested Ms. Bian
Lingyun from her job at a hotel on the morning of May 7, 2008, and held her at
Hexi Detention Center in Tongliao City. The police transferred her to an
undisclosed location one month later. Also taken away were two other
practitioners; one of them was surnamed Li.
7. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Practitioners Transferred
Ms. Niu Ruifen and Ms. Yu Shuzhen are both from the Guye District, Tangshan
City. They were held at the No. 1 Detention Center in Tangshan City.
Plainclothes agents took both women to Shuiwuzhuang Police Station on August 17,
2008. In the afternoon, Guye District 610 Office agents sent them to
Linxi Police Station, and the police ransacked Ms. Yu's home.
8. [Chongqing] Ms. Chen Shanju Arrested
Ms. Chen Shanju is in her 40s and lived in Daxing Village, the Jiangbei
District, Chongqing. Liang Shibin and other officers from the Jiangbei District
Police Department broke into her home at 9:00 p.m. on August 13, 2008 and
arrested her. They took her to the Guanyinqiao Police Station, where they
handcuffed her behind her back and interrogated her until 4:00 a.m. the next
day. They subsequently took her to the Jiangbei District Custody Center and held
her there for 15 days. Three days later they issued a notice saying she had been
sentenced to one year of forced labor and to brainwashing. She is still being
persecuted at the custody center.
9. [Shuangliao City, Jilin Province] Mr. Chen Baiquan Taken to Forced Labor
Camp
The Communist regime illegally sentenced Mr. Chen Baiquan to one
year of forced labor and brainwashing and recently sent him to Fenjin Forced
Labor Camp in Changchun City.
10. [Longchang County, Sichuan Province] Ms. Lei Yinghua Arrested
Longchang County Public Security Bureau officials secretly arrested Ms. Lei
Yinghua, a retiree in her 50s, and sent her to Neijiang City Brainwashing
Center, where she was savagely tortured. Prior to this incident, the same group
of agents had twice arrested her and taken her to Nanmusi Women's Forced Labor
Camp in Zizhong, Sichuan Province, where she was brutally tortured.
11. [Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province] Practitioners Arrested
Someone reported Ms. Xu Linxiang and her daughter from Xingzi County,
Jiujiang City, when they were distributing Falun Gong information flyers in
Sujiadang Township, Xingzi County, on the evening of July 7, 2008. The police
arrested the two along with three others: Ms. Shen Qingxiu, Ms. Shen Huoxiu, and
Ms. Tao Heying.
The police also arrested Cheng, Zhang, and Ms. Wu Weiping from her privately owned restaurant, and ransacked the three practitioners' homes. These practitioners are being held either in the Xingzi County Detention Center or in the Jiujiang City Detention Center.
12. [Shenze County, Hebei Province] Mr. Zhang Yongchang Arrested
The police ransacked Mr. Zhang Yongchang's home in Jia Village, Liucun
Township, Shenze Count,y on May 1, 2007. He lived away from home for more than a
year. The police arrested him after someone notified them about Mr. Zhang
speaking in public about Falun Gong on August 24, 2008. He is now in the Shenze
County Detention Center.
13. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Mr. Sun Li and Ms. Lu Yanru Arrested
14. [Shenzhou City, Hebei Province] Mr. Liu Qingzeng Arrested
The police arrested Mr. Liu Qingzeng on the evening of August 7, 2008.
15. [Jinyun City, Zhejiang Province] Ms. Ying Yujuan and Daughter Arrested
Officers from the Hu Town Police Station in Jinyun City ransacked Ms. Ying
Yujuan's home in Shuikou Village, Qianlu Township, in the middle of the night on
June 2, 2008. They arrested Ms. Ying and mistreated her in the police department
for 24 hours.
Wang Wenbin and other police officers arrested her and her daughter, Yu Lizhen. They took the two to the police stations and threatened them.
16. [Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province] Police Fabricate Charges in Mr. Guo
Daoyou's Case
The police fabricated charges against Mr. Guo Daoyou and submitted the case
to the Funing County Procuratorate.

17. [Lingyuan City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Gong Juhui Arrested
Ms. Gong Juhui is about 40 years old. The police found some Falun Gong
materials in her home and arrested her around August 13, 2008. They took her to
the Lingyuan City Custody Center.
18. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Liu Yuhan and Ms. Song Lianying
Detained
Ms. Liu Yuhan and Ms. Song Lianying exposed the truth regarding the
persecution of Falun Gong to people near the Harbin Cigarette Factory on the
afternoon of August 12, 2008. The police arrested them and held them at the No.
2 Detention Center, also called the Yaziquan Detention Center in Harbin City.

19. [Huaian City, Jiangsu Province] Falun Gong Practitioners Persecuted
Public Security Bureau agents and police officers ransacked the home of Mr.
Dai Mingxuan in the Qinghe District, Huaian City, several times and also
intimidated him. His wife, Lin Fengying, is being held in the Huaian City
Detention Center; she was tried on August 28, 2008.
The police arrested Ms. Wang Huafen outside her home as she returned from a shopping trip at noon on August 26, 2008.
They sentenced Ms. Yuan Aifang to three years in prison.
20. [Lingyuan City, Liaoning Province] Update on the Persecution of Mr. Liu
Xin
Mr. Liu Xin, 54, is a native of Xiaozhangzi Village, Xiaochengzi Town,
Lingyuan City. Officers from the Mohudian Police Station arrested him on July
28, 2008. They confiscated Falun Gong materials, one Nokia mobile phone, one
bicycle, one MP3 player, and 1,685 yuan in cash from his rented
home.
