1. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Wei Jun and Her Husband Mr. Gao Xijiang Arrested
At 6:00 p.m. on August 27, 2008, police officers from the Babaishang Police Station arrested Ms. Weijun and her husband, Mr. Gao Xijiang, practitioners from Hongwei Village, Daqing City. They confiscated their printer, Dafa books and their child's laptop. The practitioners are now being detained in the Babaishang Police Station. Their child has not wanted to return home since.
2. [Jilin Province] Mr. Song, Ms. Zhou Fengyan and Ms. Zhou Fengxia Arrested
In mid July 2008, police arrested Mr. Song and another practitioner from Panshi, Jilin Province while they were distributing informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong. They later arrested Ms. Zhou Fengyan and her sister, Ms. Zhou Fengxia. They are now being detained in Panshi Detention Center.
3. [Yichun City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Zhang Yajie Arrested
On the evening of August 26, 2008, Ms. Zhang Yajie, a practitioner from Yichun District, Yichun City, Heilongjiang Province, was reported to the police for distributing materials about the persecution of Falun Gong. Officers from Xiangyang Detention Center arrested her and ransacked her home.
4. [Shulan City, Jilin Province] Ms. Dang Baofen Arrested
On the afternoon of August 18, 2008, three policemen from Nancheng Police Station, Shulan City, Jilin Province arrested practitioner Ms. Dang Baofen, 54, who was on her bicycle going home. She is now being detained in Nanshan Detention Center.
5. [Yichun City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Duan Shuxian's Home Ransacked
On June 27, 2008, police from Tuanjie Police Station, Jinshantun District, broke into Ms. Duan Shuxian's home and took a video recording inside the rooms. Moreover, they threatened Ms. Duan's husband and ransacked their home. They confiscated their VCDs and a picture of Falun Gong's founder. Several policemen went to Ms. Duan's children's shop to harass the staff and interrogate them about Ms. Duan's whereabouts.
6. [Lanxi County, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Sun Yuhong and Mr. Shi Shaojun Sentenced to Forced Labor, Ms. Li Shuhua Threatened
Ms. Sun Yuhong and Mr. Shi Shaojun were sentenced to one year of forced labor. Mr. Shi Shaojun was sent to Shuihua Labor Camp and Ms. Sun Yuhong was sent to Qiqihar Labor Camp. The police sent Ms. Sun to Lanxi Detention Center after discovering that her physical examination revealed poor health.
The police forced Ms. Li Shuhua to write a guarantee statement not to practice Falun Gong anymore.
7. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Qiu Shuqin Arrested
On the morning of August 26, 2008, five plainclothed police officers forcefully arrested Ms. Qiu Shuqin, a practitioner in the Longfeng Area.
8. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Yao Wancheng Detained
On the morning of August 17, 2008, police officers from Haimao Street Police Station arrested Mr. Yao Wancheng, an employee at Dalian Thermoelectricity Group, Beihai Branch Factory, after he was reported for telling people about the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in Beishancun, Ganjingzi District. He is now being detained in Yaojia Detention Center.
9. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Yu Ming Detained in Labor Camp and His Wife Monitored
Mr. Yu Ming, a practitioner from Shenyang, is being detained in Masanjia Forced Labor Camp. In early August 2008, officers from Liaoning Police Department broke into Mr. Yu's home. They beat two people in his home. One of them was beaten so severely his eyes turned black and almost detached from his eyes sockets. Mr. Yu's nephew by marriage, a non-practitioner, was also beaten. The police later arrested all of them. Mr. Yu's nephew has been detained for three days, and his wife has been detained for four days.
Officers from the police department later went to Masanjia Forced Labor Camp in Shenyang to interrogate Mr. Yu Ming and beat him brutally. Moreover, they are still monitoring his wife.
10. [Shanghai City] Ms. Wang Zuoshan and Her Daughter Arrested
On May 7, 2008, Ms. Wang Zuoshan and her daughter, practitioners from Baoshan District, Shanghai, were arrested at home.
11. [Mengyin County, Shandong Province] Ms. Yi Airong Sentenced to One and a Half Years of Forced Labor
On the afternoon of July 3, 2008, police from the local 610 Office arrested Mr. Zhao Jingquan, a practitioner living in the residential community of Mengyin County Hardware Company, at his home. They confiscated his laptop, printer and other items. Ms. Yi Airong, Mr. Zhao Jingquan's wife, was arrested the next day when she went to the 610 Office to ask about her husband's situation. She was detained in Mengyin County Detention Center for about one month then sentenced to one and a half years forced labor on August 1. She was sent to Jinan Women's Forced Labor Camp in Shandong Province.
12. [Weihai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Lijuan Sentenced to Forced Labor
Ms. Wang Lijuan, a practitioner from Weihai Hi-Tech Development Zone, Shandong Province, was arrested on July 15, 2008, and has been recently been sentenced to one and a half years of forced labor.
13. [Weifang, Shandong Province] Ms. Han Chun'ai and Ms. Du Xiaohong Sentenced to One Year of Forced Labor
On the evening of July 21, Ms. Han Chun'ai and Ms. Du Xiaohong were reported to the police while they were talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. The police arrested them. They have been sentenced to one year of forced labor and are currently being detained in Wangcun Labor Camp.
14. [Laiyang City, Shangdong Province] Mr. Gai Guangqi Detained
On August 4, 2008, practitioner Ms. Gai Guangqi was arrested. On August 28, Ms. Zhang Yuzhen, Mr. Gai Guangqi's wife and their six relatives went to Laiyang Police Bureau to ask for the release of Mr. Gai, but Wei Haibo, commander of the Section of Politics and Law, and other officers forcefully pulled them onto their police car, took them to the Wenhualu Police Station and detained them.
15. [Zibo City, Shandong Province] Material Production Site in Zichuan Area Destroyed
On August 7, 2008, a material production site was monitored and destroyed. The plainclothes police officers climbed over the exterior wall, broke the locks on the door and confiscated two desktop computers, two printers, a DVD recorder, cash, CDs and Dafa books.
16. [Yanggu County, Shandong Province] Ms. Chen Zhiyun Arrested
On August 2, 2008, Ms. Xu Zhiyun, a practitioner from Zhangdamiao Village, Dingshui Township, Yanggu County, was arrested and sent to Liaocheng Brainwashing Center.
17. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Mr. Li Yi Arrested
Mr. Li Yi, a doctor at Baoding City Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital, was arrested before the Olympic Games. He had been detained in Baoding City Detention Center until today.
18. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Mr. Zhou Jinghua Detained
Practitioner Mr. Zhou Jinghua is now being detained in the No. 2 Detention Center in Shijiazhuang City.
19. [Changzhou City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Gu Changying Arrested
On August 5, 2008, officers from the local 610 Office arrested Mr. Gu Changying, a practitioner from Changzhou City, Jiansu Province. Later they ransacked Mr. Gu's home and confiscated his desktop computer and Dafa materials.
20. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Jiang Ying Arrested
On the evening of August 19, 2008, officers from the 610 Office in Wulixincun, Hanyang City, arrested Ms. Jiang Ying, 58, in her apartment at the Wulixincun Food Bureau, Hanyang City. She is now being detained in Taojialing Brainwashing Center, Hanyang City. Residential Committee members at Wulixincun, conspiring with officers from the local 610 Office, ransacked Ms. Jiang Ying's home and confiscated her Dafa books and a picture of Teacher Li.
21. [Danjiangkou City, Hubei Province] Mr. Ding Mingsheng Arrested
On August 5, 2008, Mr. Ding Mingsheng, a practitioner from Danjiangkou City, Hubei Province, was reported to the police while he was talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. More than ten policemen from Danjiangkou City Police Bureau arrested him. They confiscated his desktop computer, Dafa materials and other items.
22. [Changsha City, Hunan Province] Ms. Wang Yuhui and Mr. Li Zhihong Detained in Brainwashing Center
Practitioners Ms. Wang Yuhui and Mr. Li Zhihong were arrested on August 18, 2008, and are being detained in Laodaohe Brainwashing Center. Officers from the 610 Office monitored them around the clock.
23. [Luotian County, Hubei Province] Ms. Lan Ming Detained Again
On August 19, 2008, police arrested Ms. Lan Ming, a former employee at Luotian County Constructional Engineering Company in Hankou City, who had been seeking refuge at her company in order to avoid further persecution. They sent her back to Luotian County, where she is being held in the Luotian County No. 1 Detention Center.
In 2001, Ms. Lan Ming was sentenced to a five-year prison term and her husband has since divorced her.
24. [Nanchong City, Sichuan Province] Thirty-two Practitioners in Nanbu County Arrested
On August 22, 2008, officers from Nanbu County Domestic Security Division and police from Fuhu Town Police Station arrested 32 practitioners, including Zhao Qilin, Mr. Yue Shaozhi, Mr. Bu Shiyong and Mr. Bu Zhaosi, while Dafa practitioners in Fuhu Town, Nanbu County, Sichuan Province, were holding a Falun Dafa exprerience sharing conference. They confiscated all of the practitioners' cash and items on hands. Only two elderly practitioners, over 70, were released after police extorted 2,000 yuan from them. All other practitioners were arrested and detained in Nanbu County.
25. [Sichuan Province] Mr. Xie Feng Arrested
On August 22, 2008, Mr. Xie Feng, a practitioner from the China Carrier Rocket Research Institute, 703 Department, was arrested at home.
26. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Mr. Yu Jiakun Detained in Labor Camp
On July 9, Mr. Yu Jiakun, 60, a practitioner from Wei Town, Weifang City, Shandong Province, was arrested. After the police found him showing signs of illness, they extorted 1,500 yuan from him and sent him back home. Mr. Yu had been monitored constantly until August 28, when he was arrested again at home and later sent to Wangcun Labor Camp.
27. [Longkou City, Shandong Province] Mr. Ma Daobin Arrested
At around 8:30 a.m. on August 25, 2008, eight policemen from Longkou City 610 Office broke into Mr. Ma Daobin's restaurant and arrested him. He is approximately 40 years old. His business closed and his elderly parent was left unattended in the hospital.
28. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Mr. Fu Shulan Detained
At noon on August 15, police officers from Wuhan City Police Bureau and Huaqiao Police Station arrested Mr. Fu Shulan, 59, a practitioner from Wuhan City, Hubei Province. He is now being detained in Baibuting Detention Center and not allowed family visits.
