(Clearwisdom.net) (Correspondent from Jilin Province) On September 15, 2009, three practitioners of Korean ethnicity--Mr. Piao Guangzhu, 42; Mr. Li Longji, 34; and Mr. Jin Minghao, 40--were arrested by police from the Yanji City National Security Division. They have been detained in the Yanji City Detention Center, where the police have continued to interrogate and torture them brutally.
Mr. Jin Minghao was known for stirring up fights with others before he took up the practice of Falun Dafa.
After he started practicing Falun Dafa in 1997, he completely changed. He stopped fighting and stopped smoking and drinking. However, Mr. Jin lost his freedom because of his practice of Falun Dafa, and he has been constantly harassed by the local police ever since the Chinese Communist regime started its persecution of Falun Dafa on July 20, 1999.
On February 13, 2000, Mr. Jin went to Beijing to appeal on behalf of Falun Dafa. He was later sent back to Yanji City and detained for 15 days.
In November 2000, 50 practitioners, including Mr. Jin, were arrested by police from the Political Security Section of the Yanji City Public Security Bureau. They were arrested for signing their names on an appeal letter to government officials. Mr. Jin was sentenced to 2 years of forced labor. He was held in the Yanji City Detention Center first and then transferred to the Yinmahe Forced Labor Camp in Jiutai City, Jilin Province. His term was extended by 8 months because he remained steadfast in practicing Falun Dafa and refused to be "transformed." He was detained in the forced labor camp for two years and eight months, during which time he was subjected to all sorts of brutal torture, including solitary confinement.
When Mr. Jin was released in June 2003, he was very weak due to the severe torture he suffered in the labor camp. However, the local police still harassed him relentlessly. He was forced to leave home and go from place to place starting in September 2003. The Yanji City Public Security Bureau has put him on their "wanted" list.
On September 15, 2009, police from the Yanji City State Security Bureau again arrested Mr. Jin and used different brutal means to torture him.
When Mr. Jin's family members went to the National Security Bureau on the morning of September 17, the police showed them a warrant for his detention. The police also returned his clothes, including his underpants, and shoes to them. His family saw that there was still dust on his clothes. His family was extremely worried about his situation, given that they have not been given any information by the police.
Mr. Jin's 5-year-old son saw his father being brutally beaten by police when he was arrested. He was so scared that he kept crying and trembling. He is having recurring nightmares about the episode and asks for his father everyday.
We call for the authorities in Yanji City to immediately stop persecuting Piao Guangzhu, Li Longji, Jin Minghao, and all practitioners.
