(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China contains persecution accounts which took place in 15 cities and counties in 7 provinces. In this report, 9 practitioners were subjected to brutal maltreatment during their detention and at least 21 practitioners were illegally arrested.
1. [Datong City, Shanxi Province] Ms. Li Lanying Tortured at Detention Center
On the morning of July 29, 2009, Ms. Li Lanying went to tell people the facts about Falun Dafa near the Mining Administration because the Mining Administration was displaying banners that slandered Falun Dafa. She was arrested by district government security guards and taken to the Xinsheng Street Police Station of the Yunquan Mining Police Division. Later she was taken to the Mining Detention Center.
In the detention center Ms. Li was severely beaten for refusing to take off her clothes for inspection. The next morning, after refusing to work, she was violently beaten again until she fainted and defecated in her pants. In the evening she was beaten to unconsciousness because she practiced Falun Gong. On the third day she was sent to Xindian Forced Labor Camp in Taiyuan City. However, she was sent back home after doctors from Taiyuan Hospital said that she was in critical condition.
Despite receiving treatment for both eyes in the emergency room, she is now blind in her left eye due to the brutal treatment.
2. [Tianjin City] Ms. Wang Ruifang Arrested
At approximately 5:00 p.m on September 7, 2009, Ms. Wang Ruifang, 72 years old, was arrested at her home, which is located in the Hanjiangli subdivision of Xiaohaidi area, Hexi District, Tianjin City. Her home was ransacked by the local police.
3. [Tianjin City] Mr. Yue Zhongsheng Illegally Sent to Forced Labor Camp
On February 12, 2009, Mr. Yue Zhongsheng, former English Department associate professor at China Civil Aviation University in Tianjin, was arrested by Shuguang police in the Haidian District. He was arrested because, when he stayed at the Wanmeida Hotel in the Haidian District in Beijing, he was reported to the police by an attendant, who found a copy of Zhuan Falun under Mr. Yue's pillow while cleaning his room. Mr. Yue was sentenced to two and a half years in the forced labor camp. He is now being held in the Kaiping Forced Labor Camp in Tangshan City.
4. [Shanghai] Ms. Zhang Ying Arrested
Ms. Zhang Ying from the Baoshan District of Shanghai was arrested by police from Changning District at her mother-in-law's house on September 8, 2009, when she and her husband returned from shopping. Her home was ransacked. She is in custody at the Changning District Detention Center, Shanghai.
Ms. Zhang has been repeatedly persecuted for practicing Falun Gong. In 2001 she was detained in a forced labor camp for two and a half years. Not long after she was back home from the forced labor camp, she was sent to a brainwashing center. Later she was again sentenced to a labor camp for another year.
5. [Beijing] Ms. Guan Suming Arrested
On September 5, 2009, Ms. Guan Suming was arrested in Beijing. Currently she is being held in the Fengtai Detention Center.
6. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Gao Guizhen on Hunger Strike for 39 Days
Ms. Gao Guizhen went on a hunger strike for 39 days while she was held in custody at Weifang Detention Center. Police from the detention center transferred her to Wangliu High School in the Weicheng District for further persecution.
7. [Tianjin] Ms. Han Zifengfeng and Ms. Zuo Xiurong Arrested
On the morning of September 10, 2009, Ms. Han Zifengfeng and Ms. Zuo Xiurong from Hetou Township in the Tanggu District, Tianjin, were arrested by officials from the Tanggu District 610 Office and officers from the Hujiayuan Street Police Station. Later their homes were ransacked.
8. [Zhoukou City, Henan Province] Ms. Song Yue and Other Practitioners Arrested
At approximately 5:00 p.m on September 4, 2009, nine officers from the Shabei Police Branch of Zhoukou City broke into Ms. Song Yue's home in Yangzhuang Village, Chuanhui District, Zhoukou City, and arrested her. They also arrested Ms. Zhao, who was there visiting. Then they ransacked both their homes and confiscated their Dafa books and materials. Ms. Song is being held at the Zhengwa Detention Center in Zhoukou City, while Ms. Zhao is being held at the Shangshui County Detention Center.
9. [Xi'an City, Shaanxi Province] Mr. Chen Shaodong Arrested at Home and His Home Ransacked on September 9, 2009
10. [Anlu City, Hubei Province] Ms. Wang Xiulan Arrested
On September 5, 2009, Ms. Wang Xiulan, 45 years old, from Jieguan Township, Anlu City, was reported while distributing informational materials on Falun Gong at Yinpu Village, Jieguan Township. Sheng Yong, head of the Jieguan Police Station, and three other officers arrested Ms. Wang and ransacked her home. She is being held in custody at the Sili Detention Center of Anlu City.
11. [Chongqing City] Mr. Huang Guanghui Arrested
At approximately 6:30 p.m on September 6, 2009, six policemen from the Chongqing City State Security Department broke into Mr. Huang Guanghui's home and arrested him. They confiscated a copy of Zhuan Falun and an MP3 player.
12. [Xiaogan City, Hubei Province] Mr. Ye Yongjun Arrested
On the morning of September 9, 2009, Mr. Ye Yongjun was arrested from his workplace by police and Zhou Honggao, head of the Xiaonan District State Security Department in Xiaogan City, and other officers. Mr. Ye was then sent to the Hubei Province Legal Education Center, which is actually a brainwashing center.
13. [Mudanjiang City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Zhang Jinfeng Arrested from Work on September 10, 2009 and Her Whereabouts Unknown
14. [Longjin City, Jilin Province] Ms. Jia Junxian and Ms. Wang Jinbao Arrested
At noon on September 9, 2009, police from the Longjing Municipal Public Security Bureau went to Ms. Jia Junxian's home in Taiyang Village of Laolonggou Township. They arrested Ms. Jia, about 60 years old, and confiscated her Dafa books and materials. Then they went to Ms. Wang Jinbao's home, arrested her, and confiscated her Dafa books, too. Their whereabouts are unknown.
15. [Beijing] Ms. Ma Chaoyu Arrested and His Home Ransacked
Ms. Ma Chaoyu, about 67 years old from the Haidian District of Beijing, was arrested on the morning of September 10, 2009, when she was on her way to the Fengtai District. At approximately 4:00 p.m that day, her home was ransacked by police from Fengtai District and Haidian District Public Security Bureau, and Zhang Yanju, director of Airport Residential Community of Haidian District. Ms. Ma's computer, printer, Dafa books, Teacher's photos, and an MP3 player were confiscated.

16. [Liaocheng City, Shandong Province] Ms. Chen Julian Held in a Forced Labor Camp
Ms. Chen Julian from Shanna Village of Hutun Township, Liaocheng City, was arrested on September 8, 2009 and sent to the Jinan Women's Forced Labor Camp.
17. [Huanghua City, Hebei Province] Multiple Practitioners Arrested
At around 7:00 p.m on September 7, 2009, Ms. Shi Chuanfeng, Ms. Zhanglian'e, Ms. Wang Hui, Ms. Tian Xiufen, Mr. Fan Yong, Mr. Li Chaochen, Mr. Wang Shenghua, and others were arrested under orders from Zhang Gang, head of the Huanghua Public Security Bureau. Their homes were ransacked.
18. [Pingquan County, Hebei Province] Ms. Fan Guijie, Ms. Lv Shulan, and Mr. Wang Jinquan Arrested
Ms. Fan Guijie, around 50, from Qijiadai Village of Qijiadai Township, Pingquan County, was arrested at 6 a.m. on September 6, 2009, by Liu Guoquan, head of the State Security Department of Pingquan County Public Security Bureau, and three other policemen. Her whereabouts are unknown.
Ms. Lv Shulan, 61, and Mr. Wang Jinquan, 36, from the Dongcheng District of Pingquan County, were harassed around 9 a.m on September 3, 2009, by Guo Shun from Qiaodong Police Station and Liu Guoquan, head of State Security Department of Pingquan County Public Security Bureau. After 7:00 a.m on September 6, Guo Shun again harassed Ms. Lv at her home.

19. [Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province] Ms. Ma Li Arrested
Ms. Ma Li from Qinhuangdao City was reported while she was explaining the facts about Falun Gong in public and then arrested by officers from Gangcheng Street Police Station on August 31, 2007. The head of the Lvping State Security Department directed the deputy head of Gangcheng Street Police Station to ransack Ms. Ma's home. They confiscated her Dafa books, "Teaching the Fa at Dalian" DVD, and informational materials. Ma Li was released after she was held for five days in the detention center.
