(Clearwisdom.net) On September 22, 2009, Falun Gong practitioners Ms. Liu Fengqi, Ms. Ding Mengling and Ms. Wan Ping in Changsha City were reported by security guards as they were talking to people about Falun Gong in a supermarket in Kaifu district. They were taken to the Xinhe Police Station. Wan Ping's family members brought her back in the evening. However, Ms. Liu Fengqi and Ding Mengling were transferred to the Changsha City Detention Center the next day and have been detained there since.
To protest against the illegal detention, Ms. Liu Fengqi, 53 years old, refused to comply with the police's demands. The policemen in Xinhe Police Station violently grabbed and pushed her. The bruises can still be seen on Ms. Liu's arm. The police also grabbed her by the hair and threw her against the wall.
Ms. Liu's family went to the Supervision Section of Changsha City Police Station to report that Ms. Liu was mistreated and subjected to violence. The police officer in the Supervision Section required an injury report issued by a hospital and that Ms. Liu come to report the case herself. It's very hard for her family members even to be allowed to see Ms. Liu, much less taking her out to a hospital for an examination.
Ms. Liu was arrested previously in July 2007 for practicing Falun Gong. Her family was informed that she would be detained for 15 days and then released. However, after seven days, Ms. Liu was transferred from the detention center to Baimalong Labor Camp in Zhuzhou, and she was imprisoned there for one year. Now that she has been arrested again, her family is very worried. They don't want to see their innocent family member being persecuted again. They are trying their best to appeal to the relevant departments, and at the same time, they hope that more people in the community and abroad will support their efforts to help Ms. Liu Fengqi and Ding Mengling quickly return home safely.
