(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 23 cities or counties in 10 provinces. In this report, 12 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 28 practitioners were illegally arrested.
1. [Chongqing] Ms. Gan Lirong from Shenzhen Illegally Arrested
Ms. Gan Lirong was employed in Shenzhen. She went to Chongqing to buy an apartment, but she was illegally arrested and then detained at the Shimahe Women's Forced Labor Camp in Chongqing.
2. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Xu Deqin Arrested
On September 22, 2009, officers from the Nanliu Town Police Station took Ms. Xu Deqin, from Nanwanggao Village, Nanliu Town, Fangzi District, Weifang City, to the Nanliu Retirement Village, where she was persecuted.
3. [Inner Mongolia] Police Arrested Over Ten Practitioners
In less than one month, police from the Public Security Bureau in Hailar, Inner Mongolia, broke into the homes of over ten practitioners. Among them were Mr Yang Wanming, in his 50s; Mr Li Mingzhi, in his 60s; Mr Jin Huaixing, in his 70s; Mr Wang Zhankun, 57; Mr Wang Ruichang, in his 40s; Ms Wang Zhengyang, in her 50s; Ms Yu Guohua, 51; and Ms Sui Guiqin, in her 60s.

5. [Tangshan, Hebei] Five Practitioners Including Mr. Kang Guirong Persecuted
On October 9, 2009, officers from the Rengezhuang Police Station arrested five practitioners, including Mr. Kang Guirong and Ms. Yang Yuzhen, while they were telling people the facts about Falun Gong and the CCP's persecution of the practice in the Rengezhuang Market in the Fengrun District, Tangshan City.
6. [Dalian, Liaoning Province] Ms. Shao Xiaoli and Ms. Xie Yu Arrested
On September 17, 2009, police from the Public Security Bureau went to Ms Xie Yu's workplace and arrested her because she was telling people the facts about Falun Gong on the Internet. Her home was even ransacked. Police confiscated a computer, two printers, DVDs, and Dafa books. They also arrested her mother, Ms Shao Xiaoli. Their whereabouts are currently unknown.
7. [Fushun, Liaoning Province]Ms. Wang Yulan Arrested
On the afternoon on October 11, 2009, police arrested Ms. Wang Yulan, her her 60s, from the Laohutai District in Fushun City, and another practitioner while they were telling people the facts about Falun Gong.
8. [Tonghua City, Jilin Province] Ms. Dou Hongxiu Arrested
On September 23, 2009, officers from the police station in Wudaojiang Town broke into Ms. Dou Hongxiu's home in Wudaojiang Town. They arrested her and ransacked her apartment. She is currently in the Changliu Detention Center.
9. [Yantai, Shandong Province] Mr. Lv Maichang's Home Ransacked
While Mr Lv Maichang from Kongjiatan in the Laishan District in Yantai was telling the villagers the facts about Falun Gong, he was reported to the police. At about 7 p.m. on September 1, 2009, several plainclothes policemen from the 610 Office in the Laishan District ransacked his home and confiscated some materials.
10. [Laiyang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Liu Meiling Illegally Detained
On October 9, 2009, when Ms. Liu Meiling from Ximiaohou Village, the Longwangzhuang Street Office, Laiyang City, was distributing materials about Falun Gong in Nanguanzhuang Village, she was arrested. Her home was ransacked, and Dafa books and Falun Gong materials were confiscated. She is being held a detention center.
11. [Laizhou City, Shandong Province] Seven or Eight 610 Office Agents in Laizhou City Arrested Ms. Niu Guiying and Took her to a Brainwashing Center
12. [Faku County, Liaoning Province] More Information on the Arrest of Mr. Li Futang
At about 8 a.m. on October 12, 2009, Wu Haoyang, director of the Dengshibao Town Police Station in Faku County, along with Chen Chao, political instructor of the same police station, broke into the home of practitioner Mr. Li Futang's son in Xiaotun Village, Dengshibao Town. They pushed Mr. Li to the ground, arrested him, and took him to the Dengshibao Town Police Station.
13. [Jiujiang, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Li Shuiqing Detained for an Extra Two Months after Her Sentence Ended
14. [Tongliao City, Inner Mongolia] More Information on the Arrest of Ms. Zheng Yuhe
Ms. Zheng Yuhe is 83 years old and from Tongliao City. On the morning of October 11, 2009, while she was distributing Falun Gong fliers, a young man reported her to the police. Officers from the Jianguo Township Police Station arrested her and ransacked her home. They confiscated Dafa books and DVDs. Her daughter was forced to pay a penalty of 3000 yuan before she was released in the afternoon.
15. [Changchun, Jilin Province] More Information on Six Arrested Practitioners
Ms. Sun Xuezhi from Changchun and another elderly practitioner were released from the Brainwashing Center on September 22, 2009. Mr Hu Jingyan remains in the Changchun Third Detention Center.
16. [Jiangmen City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Chen Xuemei Arrested
On the afternoon on October 2, police arrested Ms. Chen Xuemei and another practitioner when they were telling people the facts about Falun Gong. Police searched Ms. Chen's home and confiscated two computers, several printers, and Falun Gong materials.
17. [Huaying City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Pan Jianqun and Ms. Peng Qinglian Arrested
On October 3, 2009, Mr. Pan Jianqun and Ms. Peng Qinglian from Huaying City were arrested and their homes were ransacked. They are being held at the Huaying City Detention Center.
18. [Weihai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Song Ping Being Held at the Weihai City Detention Center
On September 29, 2009, when Ms. Song Ping from Haobo, Weihai City, was telling people the facts about Falun Gong, the police arrested her. In the evening, officers from the Public Security Bureau in the Jing District and the Fenglin Police Station ransacked her home and confiscated computers and Dafa books. She is being detained at the Weihai City Detention Center.

19. [Guiyang, Guizhou Province] Ms. Luo Yunzhi Has Been Persecuted for Five Years
In October 2004, police from the Public Security Bureau in the Anshun District, Guizhou, broke into the home of Ms. Luo Yunzhi from Guiyang City, searched it, and then arrested her. She was illegally sentenced to five years in prison and was sent to the Yangai Women's Prison in Guizhou City. Because she refused to be "transformed", the 610 Office transferred her to a brainwashing center.
20. [Changde City, Hunan Province] Police from the Public Security Bureau Arrested Practitioners including Ms. Xiao Guixian
On October 10, 2009 when Dafa practitioners Ms Xiao Guixian and Ms Xiong Bifang, from Changde City, were distributing Falun Gong materials at the villages in Dingcheng District, police from the Public Security Bureau arrested them. They are currently being detained in the Dingcheng District.
21. [Chongqing City] Mr. Long Jiamu Persecuted at Detention Center
On September 27, 2009, Mr. Long Jiamu from Shuangshi Town iin the Yongchuan District, Chongqing City, was followed and reported to the police. Officers from the Shuangshi Town Police Station came and arrested him. He is being held at the Wangchengpo Detention Center in the Yongchuan District.
22. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Xiong Hanlian and Ms. Shi Zhonglan Persecuted at Yangyuan Brainwashing Center
Ms. Xiong Hanlian and Ms. Shi Zhonglan were arrested on October 11, 2009, and held at the First Detention Center for 15 days. The Yangyuan Police Station sent them to the Yangyuan Brainwashing Center.
23. [Yutian County, Hebei Province] Chengguan Police Station in Yutian City Arrested Ms. Li Zemei
At 10 a.m. on October 7, 2009, officers from Chengguan Police Station in Yutian City arrested Ms. Li Zemei at her home at Nuanquanhe, Yutian City. They searched her home and confiscated computers, printers, and Dafa books.

24. [Hanchuan City, Hubei Province] The Persecution of Mr. Wang Qing
Mr. Wang Qing, 36, was an employee of the Hanchuan City Real Estate Management Bureau. Since 1999, he has been detained four times and once was in a forced labor camp.
In February 2000, he went to Beijing to appeal for the right to practice Falun Gong. He unfolded a banner in Tiananmen Square. The Hanchuan City Police Department sent him to the Hanchuan City Second Detention Center for more than 30 days.
In June 2000, he was sent to the Hanchuan City Second Detention Center because he told the leaders of his workplace the facts about Falun Gong. He was detained there for over 40 days.
In February 2001, the Chengguan Police Station in Hanchuan City sent him to the Brainwashing Center in the Second Detention Center. They tried to "transform" him and subjected him to brainwashing. He was detained there for over six months.
In August 2001, he went to visit a fellow practitioner and was arrested. He was taken to the Second Detention Center and was held for seven months. He was not released until after he went on a hunger strike for 15 days.
On the morning of May 22, 2002, Mr. Wang was at work when officers from the City Police Department appeared and arrested him. They took him directly to the Third Team in the Shayang Forced Labor Camp in Hubei Province. He was sentenced to one and a half years of forced labor.
25. [Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia] Ms. Ma Jinlan Arrested
On October 10, 2009, when Ms. Ma Jinlan from Ningcheng County, Chifeng City, was telling people the facts about Falun Gong in the free market, officers from the Tiexi Police Station in Ningcheng County followed her and arrested her. They ransacked her home and confiscated her computers. She I being held at the Ningcheng County Detention Center.

26. [Chibi City, Hubei] Mr. Zhou Guoqiang Was Reported to Police When He Was Telling People the Facts about Falun Gong. He Was Arrested. His Whereabouts Are Unknown.
27. [Chongqing] Ms. Jia Guozhen and Ms. Liu Lirong Arrested and Taken to the Pengxi County Police Station
28. [Chongqing] Ms. Yu Jirong Sentenced to One Year of Forced Labor
On the evening of September 17, 2009, when Ms. Yu Jirong was distributing Falun Gong materials in the Mingzhu Residential Compound in Jincheng in the Dadukou District, the local security guards arrested her and took her to the Chunhui Road Police Station in the Dadukou District. She was illegally sentenced to one year of forced labor. On September 25, she was transferred to the Shabao Women's Forced Labor Camp in the Yubei District, Chongqing.
