(Clearwisdom.net) (By a correspondent from Hubei Province) Mr. Chen Xinan was employed at the China Aviation Life Saving Equipment Co., LTD (formerly Xiang Fan City Han Jiang Machinery) for more than 40 years. He was illegally arrested for practicing Falun Gong in a park and was fired a month before his retirement.
Mr. Chen was born in October 1949 and had worked for the company over 40 years. Over ten years ago, he suffered from a stomach ulcer. Although he sought treatment at several hospitals, his illness could not be cured. In 1997, he began to practice Falun Gong, and his stomach ulcer was healed within a few months, thus saving the company and the nation large medical expenses.
After the Chinese Communist Party began to persecute Falun Gong, Mr. Chen regularly told people around him about his positive experience with Falun Gong and the benefits of practicing. Consequently, he was arrested and detained numerous times by the police. The police also ransacked his home and took away books and information material about Falun Gong.
On September 22, 2008, Mr. Chen was practicing the Falun Gong exercises in the Xiang Fan City Town Square. He was arrested and detained. The police also arrested several other practitioners. Mr. Chen was detained for three months. On December 16, 2008, he was sentenced to three years in prison. The local court claimed that he was "obstructing the execution of the law."
In October 2009, Mr. Chen reached his legal retirement age. On September 29, 2009, his company notified him that he would not be receiving his retirement pension, because he was no longer an employee as of December 16, 2008 (the day he was sentenced) and the company had canceled his employment contract.
