(Clearwisdom.net) Today, I read an article on the Minghui website (Chinese version of Clearwisdom.net), which helped me to enlighten. I'd like to share with fellow practitioners.
Some time ago, I always saw fellow practitioners with some kind of shortcomings. Some problems seemed very serious. When I shared my thoughts with others, everyone thought we should talk about the problems face-to-face. However, fellow practitioners not only covered up their problems with excuses, but also commented that I was not compassionate enough when I pointed out their problems.
Afterward I looked inward. I felt the practitioners were right. I was not kind or charitable toward them. I thought that practitioners doing multi-level marketing were undermining the Fa and their acts should be immediately stopped. I did not think about their improvement. I also noticed that I had not been benevolent or tolerant, and I was very short on patience. Whenever I noticed fellow practitioners had problems, I would accuse them. I was even indignant and very angry. I knew that I had attachments to eliminate, but I could not find the root cause.
Today, I read "Righteous Thoughts Eliminate Karma" on the Minghui website. The author said, "when facing various difficult times," "break them up from a different angle." I suddenly realized that I looked at problems from deep inside. I paid too much attention to others' shortcomings or mistakes and I could not be benevolent or tolerant. When I paid close attention to other's problems, I actually was on that level. "The reason is, once you think it's a health problem, your character is about as high as an ordinary person's." (Zhuan Falun)
Master also hinted to me that my capacity for benevolence and tolerance was not great enough, and I was limiting myself by looking at problems from only one angle. I always confined my understanding and view from within the problem and thus limited myself.
Master asked us to "always consider other people when you do things," (Zhuan Falun)
Viewing problems from another's point of view is to view problems from a different angle. When Gods look at problems,
"They look at things multi-dimensionally and from all perspectives," ("Teaching the Fa at the Meeting with Asia-Pacific Students, 2004")
Fellow practitioners may not cultivate well in some areas, but may cultivate very well in other areas. Even if he does not do well at the moment, he can do well in the future. Master said,
"I look at a being comprehensively and look at his entire history. If somebody is truly a Dafa disciple, if he was truly a very good being in the past but did something wrong momentarily in this environment, then he's still different from an ordinary person who has sinned against Dafa. After they make up for the harm they did they can still make it, and if they do well, there will be greater mighty virtue awaiting them all the same." ("Teaching the Fa at the Conference in Vancouver, Canada, 2003")
I thought about another point. When viewing problems one should not only be comprehensive and three dimensional, but should also see another's outstanding achievements, and pay less attention to their shortcomings. Dafa practitioners should use benevolence to solve problems. After I understood this, all my resentment and impatience disappeared. I feel my capacity for patience and endurance is much larger. Perhaps many practitioners have already passed this state. I did not do well in this regard. I welcome others' comments. I'd like to thank Master for his benevolent hint.
