I am sixty-six years old and obtained Dafa in March 1999.
Passing out Shen Yun DVDs in Person to Save Sentient Beings
Teacher said,
"It is rare to see audience members shedding tears at a performing arts event. At every show put on by Divine Performing Arts, there were many audience members who shed tears throughout, with many more having to constantly wipe tears from their eyes. Every show was like that. People were deeply stirred and moved. In this dimension it was young people who were performing, while in other dimensions, many of my Law Bodies and many divine beings were doing so. (Applause) The strength of the impact on people, as with the changes it caused in them, were very similar to what happened back when I personally taught the Fa early on. Shen Yun performers are Dafa practitioners that are directed by Master himself. He also wrote the lyrics for each song. So, from what I understand, the Shen Yun DVD is a good and most efficient way for saving people. Thus, I have been actively distributing Shen Yun DVDs.
In the areas of rectifying the Fa such as passing out booklets of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party and urging people to quit the CCP, I've been doing so in person. Since I know a large number of people, I've been able to save quite a few of them. There were even eight people who became Dafa practitioners in the process of my clarifying the truth to them. With so many of them, I would first give them a Shen Yun DVD. I was pretty sure that not only would they watch them, but they would also pass them around among their families and friends as I had requested. This allowed them to help each other out by collecting feedback.
Each time before I went out to pass out DVDs, I would send forth these righteous thoughts: I am a Dafa disciple; whenever, and wherever I go, I disintegrate all vicious things that persecute Dafa practitioners and interfere with sentient beings who would watch Shen Yun DVDS. In the process of passing out Shen Yun DVD, I realized that I wouldn't be able to do it without Teacher's Law Bodies, just like what Teacher said,
"Cultivation depends on one's own efforts, while the transformation of gong is done by one's master." (Zhuan Falun)
Teacher would always arrange people with karmic relationship to come by while I was passing out Shen Yun DVDs. As a result, it didn't take much time to have them all passed out.
It was easy to give Shen Yun DVDs to friends and relatives, but giving them to strangers took more effort. By utilizing people's psychological inclination of wanting to hear pleasant words, I would take the opportunity to offer them the DVD when they were in a good mood. When I saw a person with some obvious problem with walking, I showed my compassion by offering her a Shen Yun DVD and wishing her a speedy recovery--my concern for her made her so happy that she gladly accepted the DVD. After doing this every day, my state of mind has become more purified by offering Shen Yun DVDs to save people. The Shen Yun DVD has entered thousands of households.
Since I've been focusing on passing out Shen Yun DVDs, I've gotten rid of my attachment of fear. In addition, about a dozen fellow practitioners, that I've been coordinating with, are also passing out DVDs and are using different methods to widely save people.
Looking Within Is the Fa's Treasure, and also a Basic Requirement for Cultivation
The process of giving out DVDs in person is a process of continuously eliminating attachments, as well as a process of continuously looking within, and solidifying our righteous thoughts. Because of my attachment of fear, I started out using black plastic bags, thinking that it might be safer since I was doing it during the daytime, but most people would look to see what was in the bag anyway. My fear caused an obstacle for some people. I eliminated my fear with righteous thoughts and I changed to clear plastic bags.
With an unsteady mind, insufficient righteous thoughts, and having a little fear when studying the Fa, the evil would find gaps, and used people to interfere. A man cycling a three-wheeler saw me walking back and forth with a bag and said, "You'll get arrested pretty soon." A cabdriver said, "If anyone took your DVDs to the police station, and reported that you were handing them out, you could be sentenced to a three-year imprisonment!" One woman screamed in public, "I don't want anything to do with Falun Gong. I support the Chinese Communist Party (CCP)!" I was not moved by what she said. I smiled and I started sending out forth righteous thoughts, and recited Teacher's Fa,
"What I want to tell you is this: You have gone through great trials and hardships to arrive at where you are today. By all means, you shouldn't let your heart and mind bob about like duckweed, stirred at the first hint of wind."

Anyway, I kept on passing out DVDs in order to save people regardless of the interference.
After getting home I quieted my mind by studying the Fa and looked within myself--I found that it was my fear that had caused the interference. I kept negating and eliminating the attachment, and kept looking within myself so that I could continue to save people with the DVDs. We didn't even stop while the CCP was celebrating its 60th anniversary.
Collecting Feedback Anytime, Anyplace
Are the people who received the Shen Yun DVDs really going to be watch them? Are they going to pass the DVD to other people? What about feedback? I was very concerned about these problems. Whenever I come across those who received the DVDs , I always ask if they had viewed the them and what they thought. Most of the responses were very favorable. However, some said that they were too busy to watch it; some said that they did watch it but were afraid to pass it on to others. I always stressed the importance of viewing the DVD as soon as possible and to pass it on to others.
The following are some testimonials about how the show was fantastic and beneficial to one's health. One was a retired person in his eighties; when I was clarifying the truth to him, he agreed that Dafa is good. He withdrew from CCP, and read Zhuan Falun. Every time whenever I would give him truth clarification-materials and booklets, he would read them carefully, and then he would put them into others' mailboxes. I gave him a Shen Yun DVD; he watched all of it and highly praised it, "The music was beautiful; the costumes were great; the backdrop was fantastic--the whole thing draws you in so that you can't take your eyes off of it."
In the company where I work, a person, in charge of employee retirement and who is also one of secretaries of the CCP, has been taking part in persecuting Falun Gong. When I told him about the facts of Falun Gong, he seemed to agree with what I said. I offered him the Nine Commentaries and a DVD about the persecution of Falun Gong. He seemed want to them but was unwilling to accept them because he was afraid of being seen by others. So, on Sunday I went to the apartment building where he was residing. I called him before going upstairs, but he didn't want me to come up, so instead he lowered a string so that I could tie them to the plastic bag.
In 2009, at the workplace, I handed him a Shen Yun DVD and he was happy to take it. A few days later, I was giving a DVD to the other manager but he was afraid to accept it while the CCP secretary was standing nearby. But, the secretary said, "Take it. I felt good after watching it." So this other manager accepted it too. I was happy for both of them.
The aforesaid is part of my cultivation experience.
