(Clearwisdom.net) During the ongoing ten-year persecution on Falun Gong in China, three siblings of the Wu family in Youhao District, Yichun City, Heilongjiang Province have suffered greatly. Mr. Wu Wenfeng, 50, and his younger sister and brother are Falun Gong practitioners.
Mr. Wu Wenfeng has been subjected to long-term harassment, repeated arrests, beatings, detention, and extortion at the hands of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). His younger sister, Ms. Wu Wenjin, 40, is currently being persecuted in the Yichun Detention Center. Their youngest brother, Mr. Wu Wenzhang, is in Jidong Prison in Tangshan, Hebei Province. Wenzhang was recently reported to be in critical condition, he could not eat, and had blurred vision, yet the prison authorities refused to release Wenzhang.
Mr. Wu Wenfeng
Mr. Wu Wenfeng was attacked by a bear in the 1970's and lost his vision. One day, his brother Wu Wenzhang came and read the Falun Gong book Zhuan Falun to him. He found Falun Gong to be an outstanding meditation practice, and he was able to find answers for a number of life's questions he had. Mr. Wu's mind and body were cleansed. His brother Zhang learned how to do the Falun Gong exercises and then taught him. After he started practicing Falun Gong, he was no longer depressed, and smiles returned to his face. Witnessing such a huge change in him and his brother, their sister Wenjin also started practicing Falun Gong.
At 1:00 p.m. on June 7, 2003, police from the Qinghuangdao Shanhaiguan Public Security Bureau and Xiguan Police Station raided Mr. Wu's home. They seized his computer, printer, tape recorder, tapes, and cash. The police also threatened his landlord, seized 1,700 yuan of rent money, and fined them another 1,000 yuan.
Mr. Wu was held in Xiguan Police Station, where he was hung by his handcuffed wrists and beaten with clubs. One policeman, Yang Yong, shouted to him, "If you don't talk, we will bury you alive!" The policemen assaulted him for over twenty minutes. He was then transferred to the No. 2 Detention Center, which refused to admit him due to his health condition. Officers from the Shanhaiguan Police Station bribed the detention center into admitting him.
After Mr. Wu was released from the No. 2 Detention Center on July 2, 2003, he took the train to his hometown of Yichun City. There, he was body-searched by a guard from the Jiamusi Rail Road Public Security Bureau, which confiscated his one thousand yuan in cash and held him in the Youhao Subdivision Bureau's Yonghong Police Station.
After Mr. Wu was released, he lived with his sister and then his brother. Police officers Hu Yajun and Zhang continued harassing him. His siblings were not able to help. So his brother took him to the Duishan Farm. The farm administrator along with the 610 Office in Yichun District and Zhaoyang District sent him to the Dongsheng Nursing Home to be monitored.
Mr. Wu went on a hunger strike in protest. The Yichun District 610 Office official froze his retirement assets in the Nongye Bank. On October 13, he began a second hunger strike, which lasted eighteen days. The persecutors didn't want him to die in the nursing home, so they released him. All the nursing home expenses were deducted from his retirement pay. From March 2004 to March 2006, the Yichun District 610 Office officials withheld Mr. Wu's retirement pay, attempting to force him to stop practicing Falun Gong. As of today, officials still have not returned his pension for the fifteen months.
From December 2007 to April 2008, the 610 Office officials withheld his pension again. He went to see the 610 Office director Xi Ming repeatedly until they released his pension. Mr. Wu moved into a nursing home in Youhao District in 2008. His brother-in-law Han Yongxian and Han's mother conspired with CCP officials to arrest him again on June 5, 2008. This time he was taken to the Yichun Shangganlin Detention Center. After he was released, it took Fen several more months to get his pension back. A kind nursing home employee accompanied him to the Youhao Public Security Bureau to ask for the return of his mp4 player. The bureau officials refused and threatened both him and the nursing home employee.
Ms. Wu Wenjin
Ms. Wu Wenjin began practicing Falun Gong in 1999. Shortly thereafter, her hypotension, gastritis, and chronic kidney infection disappeared without medical treatment.
Ms. Wu was persecuted in the Qinghuangdao No. 2 Detention Center. After her release, she was harassed many times by the local police station and 610 Office in September 2003. Her mother-in-law was terrified and developed heart disease, because she was in constant fear that Ms. Wu would be taken away again.
In March 2004, she was again harassed by the police. Since she was not at home, the persecutors left her a message ordering her to go to the local police station. On April 2, 2004 at around 2:00 p.m., district 610 Office director Wang Xunxin, and Dong Dapeng from the Jieji Police Station, along with a director of the resident committee, came to Ms. Wu's home to coerce her to give up her Falun Gong books, DVDs, and poster. These officials threatened Ms. Wu that someone had reported her to the police. She said "Falun Gong practitioners are kind people, we cultivate Truthfulness-Benevolence-Forbearance. We are not wrong. The persecution is wrong." They threatened to take her to a brainwashing center. She had to leave home and become homeless to avoid further harassment from these officials.
On March 7, 2006, she and her brother Wenfeng were arrested in Qinghuangdao. Ms. Wu was able to escape.
On November 2, 2009, she was arrested again by officers from the Youhao District Public Security Bureau and 610 Office, when her home was raided. Ms. Wu is being held in Yichun Detention Center. The persecutors are Zhai Qingfeng from Youhao District Public Security Bureau, and Fu Guozhi, Liu Mingchen, and Meng Fanjin from the 610 Office.
Mr. Wu Wenzhang
Before practicing Falun Gong, Mr. Wu Wenzhang had a hot temper, drank and smoked, and became angry at any loss. After he began practicing Falun Gong, he quit smoking and drinking. His personality also improved. He now thinks of others first when he does things and has a much milder temper. His kidney disease has also healed from practicing Falun Gong.
He has been persecuted by the CCP many times for practicing Falun Gong. On November 23, 2000, Mr. Wu and another Falun Gong practitioner went to Beijing to clarify the truth. They held a banner that said "Falun Dafa is good" on Tiananmen Square. Mr. Wu and the other practitioner were arrested.
In detention, when he witnessed the brutal beating of a fellow practitioner, he stepped forward and stopped the policemen, and shouted "Falun Dafa is good." He was transferred to the Daxing Public Security Subdivision's affiliated police station. There police tortured him during interrogation. He told the officers that Falun Gong practitioners were all good people, and that they have not broken the law. The officers attacked and beat Mr. Wu until they were too tired to continue the beating. He was covered with injuries. He had a gushing laceration on his face that was bleeding heavily.
Seeing that torture didn't work on him, the deputy director of the police station switched to deception. The director swore on his honor that as soon as he gave his name and address, the director would release him. Mr. Wu gave the information. Instead of releasing him, the director transferred him to a local detention center, which held him for another fifteen days.
In June 2003, CCP officials in Qinghuangdao, Shanhaiguan arrested Falun Gong practitioners on a massive scale. Mr. Wu had to flee from his home avoid the persecution.
On April 30, 2004, when Mr. Wu was telling people about Falun Gong in Shanhaiguan and Changshoushan, he was arrested by police officer Fu Yong from the Shanhaiguan Subdivision Bureau. He was again tortured. He went on a hunger strike in the No. 3 Shanhaiguan Detention Center. He was beaten and force-fed by Wang Yongheng. Fifteen days later, he was officially arrested. Mr. Wu refused to sign his name on the arrest warrant. The Shanhaiguan Court sentenced him to three and a half years in prison. The presiding judge told him that if he stopped practicing Falun Gong, he would be released right away, and if not he would be imprisoned. He refused to give up his belief.
On November 11, 2004, Mr. Wu was transferred to the Jidong Prison. The persecution there caused him to developed hypertension, thoracic edema, blurred vision, and systemic weakness. He could not eat and was in delirium, yet the prison authorities still refused to release him.
