Hideko Shigeru (C), a local elected official, and friends.
HIROSHIMA, Japan--Divine Performing Arts (DPA) International Company
enthralled audiences in Hiroshima on Feb. 15 in its first visit to the region.
Among the audience was Hideko Shigeru, a local elected official.
She was absorbed by the miracle of DPA. She repeatedly said, "Ah, this is
too beautiful.
"To me, this is a learning experience. I told them [pointing to adjacent
friends] that it's really a predestined relationship to see such a wonderful
show. I am very grateful to have such a chance."
Originally, Ms. Shigeru was planning to attend another arts event on Sunday
afternoon, yet she received a call from a friend, saying that she could not miss
a show like DPA.
"It was a wise decision. I didn't miss this chance. In the morning there
was a conference by a cultural association. On the way there, I was attracted to
come and watch DPA. It's so fortunate that I came. It's worth celebrating that
it was a full house."
The friend who phoned Ms. Shigeru earlier that day also came along.
"DPA is so good. Hiroshima produces writing brushes, especially Kumano
brushes, which are famous around the world. Upon watching the program Legend
of the Brush, I realized that Japanese brushes originated from China,"
he said.
"Japan, China, and the rest of the world all want to build a sustainable
society, in terms of education, food safety, etc. In order to achieve that,
people need to baptize the soul like today. Today I feel purified from head to
toe."
Both Ms. Shigeru and her friend have been fans of Japanese dance.
Ms. Shigeru said that she found some professional connection with DPA, since she
does Japanese dance herself.
"I particularly realized that DPA dancers are all young and vivacious.
Their hand gestures are unique and graceful. You can just feel that they are one
hundred percent focused from head to toe.
"DPA's colors are also extremely beautiful. Japan cannot create such
coordination of colors. Therefore it was a lesson for me on color matching. DPA's
colors are definitely the best.
"Nowadays DPA's promotion in the world is necessary. The show uses arts and
culture to bring peace. Japanese people should support DPA. I will continue to
support DPA as well."
