(Clearwisdom.net) Divine Performing Arts (DPA) 2009 World Tour continues to dazzle enthusiastic audiences across Europe as it opened at the Stadsschouwburg Antwerpen Theatre on Monday. It was a bit of a cultural awakening for Flemish MP Jos Stassen, who came to the opening show.

"It was the first time I've seen this show and I was very impressed with all the colors, all the movements, and also all the stories. I had never heard about Chinese culture and all the ancient Chinese legends, so that was very nice and impressive, too," he said.

DPA takes its inspiration from 5,000 years of Chinese civilization. Many of the dances depict heroic legends or ancient stories. Some of the dances also portray stories based on events taking place in China today.

Mr. Stassen said, "The artists are very athletic and very graceful. The gracefulness of their movements is, for me, typically Chinese. They can control their movements, control all parts of their bodies. That's very, very impressive!"

Mr. Stassen said he enjoyed the dances depicting some of China's legends, but that it was the number called "Dignity and Compassion" about modern China that most deeply moved his heart. He said that of all the dances, that was "the most touching" and "very good." "It is a very hopeful performance," he said.

Colorful and Beautiful!

Also seeing a DPA show for the first time was Mr. Wouters, a TV producer for a regional television station, and his wife. Mr. Wouters said that he could appreciate all the hard work involved in producing such a high caliber show. "It is all smooth. And they [the performances] are beautiful!"

Mrs. Wouters added that the show was "very colorful," and that the music seemed "very familiar" to her. She said she also liked the fact that the hosts introduced the background of each of the performances before they started.

"Keep Showing Us Your Heart"

Mr. Vanhoof, a city employee from Antwerp, was very impressed by the singular qualities of the show. "Very lovely, very gracious, very well done! Beautiful choreography!" he exclaimed, adding that the performances were virtually perfect.

He said that his impression after watching the show was that Chinese culture, "comes from the heart, [whereas] our culture can be summarized as a culture of speech, while Chinese culture, for me, is all about signs, hidden signs that are found in their way of dancing and their hand gestures." Mr. Vanhoof went on to add that he was inspired by the universal message. "I totally got it! I could feel it very clearly, and it touched me immediately! The message of goodness and beauty, and the balance between heaven and earth was very clear."

He encouraged Divine Performing Arts to keep up the great work. "Keep on showing us your heart with your art form!"

Another audience member, bank manager Mr. Eric, was impressed by the live orchestra. "I found the music very fresh, very nice!" He also said, "The piece that sticks in your mind--the one with the child whose father is tortured--that is something you remember." Mr. Eric was referring to the piece titled "Heaven Awaits Us Despite Persecution."
