OSAKA, Japan--On Feb. 18, the Divine Performing Arts (DPA) International Company presented two shows in Osaka--the most important city in western Japan. Besides local Japanese residents, many Chinese people also watched the show, including Chinese students studying in Japan.
Li (alias), a Chinese student, has been in Japan for over four years, and is currently studying in a university. After watching the performance, Li said, "I have repeatedly heard that DPA shows are magnificent, but frankly speaking, I had some doubts about it. Since it is quite cold today, and because I have often heard of the magnificence of DPA, I came here to take a look. Surprisingly, it didn't disappoint me. The traditional Chinese culture was perfectly presented to the audience in Japan in a beautiful, straightforward, and artistic way. I am convinced that the Japanese who have watched the show will definitely have a new understanding of China.
"The act I liked most was Finding Myself sung by tenor Yuan Qu. But every act was very wonderful and pure. When interviewed by a reporter of the Epoch Times in the U.S., a Chinese dancer said that if dancers have righteous thoughts, their performance will be pure. I would agree with that."
Tenor Yuan Qu has won several important international awards. The song Finding Myself told a story about people in distress finding and starting to cultivate Falun Dafa, eventually cultivating themselves diligently towards godhood.
"Because I am a Buddhist, I was not brainwashed while in China. In the university where I am studying, there is a Falun Gong practitioner who is close to me. Some Chinese students close to the officials in the embassy reported him to the Chinese Embassy. However, he didn't bow to the pressure and continued to introduce DPA to people around him. I think the DPA show is the most pure demonstration of 5,000-year-old Chinese culture as opposed to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) culture. The Chinese culture mixed with the CCP's party culture is only 60 years old. What is defended by those who repeatedly say that they are absolutely loyal to the CCP and the nation was simply the 60-year-old CCP Culture, rather than the 5,000-year-old traditional Chinese culture.
"What is presented in the show is traditional Chinese beauty. All the acts, from the beginning to the end, had something to do with divinity, and they were beautifully intermingled with Buddhism, Daoism, and Confucianism. Buddhism, Daoism, and Confucianism are traditional Chinese culture. I was deeply moved by the show, and I believe that in addition to the performers' efforts, the show must have been helped by divinity. That is for sure," said Li.
