(Clearwisdom.net) The Chinese New Year Spectacular once again warmed the hearts of Minnesotans as it swept the stage of the Northrop Memorial Auditorium in Minneapolis this past Tuesday night, frigid as it was. The Divine Performing Arts Chinese New Year Spectacular opened to an appreciative audience on February 3, 2009.
Located on the campus of the University of Minnesota, audience members traveled from far and wide to celebrate the return of Divine Performing Arts to Minneapolis.
"The orchestra, it's really awesome, the music!" said Mr. McCable, manager of a well-known large American company based in Minnesota. "It's how it brings in the backgrounds of the different Chinese ethnic groups," he continued. The Divine Performing Arts orchestra brings together two of the world's greatest classical music traditions, Chinese and Western, in a masterful fusion. With Western instrumentals utilizing the full potential of Western orchestral music, rich in Chinese qualities.
"Yes," agreed his wife, a financial consultant. "The music really adds a lot of depth to it." The performance in Minnesota featured the Divine Performing Arts live orchestra.
"It makes you really think about what's going on in China, how not everyone has freedom." said the manager, commenting on "Heaven Awaits Us Despite Persecution." This contemporary story tells the tale of a father who is persecuted for practicing Falun Gong. The scenes that ultimately unfold in this piece present a message of hope and bespeak of the longstanding Chinese belief that good people are ultimately rewarded, even if not in this lifetime. "It really hit home, it was really emotional!"
"Loved the show! Loved the show!" paralegal Jennis Plansford agreed. "The voices were absolutely phenomenal," she enthused, commenting on the vocal performances of "Awareness Is Spreading" and "Cosmic Renewal".

"It was very interesting to learn about the Chinese culture and traditional Chinese heritage. Also the reasons for doing this performance."
"But my favorite part was the erhu! It was beautiful." The erhu is a traditional Chinese instrument capable of conveying a wide range of emotions. Divine Performing Arts erhu performances continue to enchant audiences everywhere.
"I would absolutely love to see this show again!" Ms. Plansford also said that she would definitely recommend it to her friends.
