The audience at the performance in Lodz
LODZ, Poland--Playing to a full house in the Teatr Wiielki (Grand Theater) in
Lodz, Shen Yun received rave reviews from audience members. The ethnic Chinese
dance company brilliantly danced its way into Lodz, the film capital of Poland,
and received two curtain calls on Saturday, March 28.
Ms. Sklarska, a finance executive for a multinational company in Poland, said,
"I will recommend it to everyone. I think it was very inspiring and having
seen it, I'm more interested in getting familiar with Chinese culture and
Chinese history."
Shen Yun, primarily of vocal music and dance, gains its inspiration from
traditional Chinese culture and showcases classical and ethnic Chinese dance.
"I liked it very much," said Ms. Sklarska. She was particularly
impressed with the dance, especially the movement and colors. "I liked the
dance, and the rhythm and the colors you see in the scene," she added.
Ms. Kossacka, owner of several high schools in Lodz, was also impressed by the
dance performances. "It was a dance with a kind of mission, a dance that
conveys something deeper than just body movements," she said.
Ms. Kossacka bought with her 70 students and faculty members to experience
Chinese traditional heritage. She thinks the performance gives children an
opportunity to perceive China in a different capacity. "To convey [the
knowledge] not in a book, not through text...is the best education," said
Kossacka.
Ms. Olejniczak, school principal, agreed with her colleague and added that she
liked the show "because of the values conveyed [in the performance]... they
are something that is missed in this crazy world."
