Ms. Sophia Lin at the VIP reception after Shen Yun Performing Arts' show at the Canberra Theatre, March 29, 2009
CANBERRA, Australia--Sophia Lin, a representative of Taiwan in Australia,
attended the first showing of Shen Yun Performing Arts at the Canberra Theatre
on March 29. It was her second time seeing the Shen Yun show, and she shared her
experiences at the VIP reception afterwards.
"The way it changes and blazes a new trail, it's just so exuberant and
vivid," she said, speaking Mandarin to an Epoch Times reporter.
"It's also extremely original and creative. It expresses the 5000 years of
Chinese civilisation, and gives us all a unique way of looking at things. I
think the design of the programs, and the colour of the costumes, it was all so
dazzling to the eyes of the audience."
Ms. Lin said the particularly special parts of the show were the dazzling and
overwhelming colours, and the costumes. "It just brings people so deeply
into the experience. The performers' artistic skills were so deft and dexterous,
I just can't describe it. I think it's simply just terrific--their performance
is so special. It can really fascinate an audience."
"I think it's leading people to ponder," she said after pausing and
thinking for a moment. "In particular, I felt that a few of the melodies of
the songs really lead people to another realm. I feel that this leads the eyes
of the spirit to open. If you want to see ... it's not about using your worldly
eyes to see it, you have to look deeper, experience it more deeply, and use your
spirit to see it--that's how to get a hold of the truth, kindness, and beauty of
this performance."
Ms. Lin said that as a Taiwanese person and someone with a background in Chinese
culture, Shen Yun has an especially big impact on her. "We can truly
experience it from our hearts. That's why there's such a huge response to this
show in Taiwan."
"This performance is so original and shows such great kindness. Every time
I see it I'm extremely moved."
