(Clearwisdom.net) A multicultural audience packed the Queensland Conservatorium to see the final Shen Yun Performing Arts show before it continued on, and many thanked the organizers for bringing the world class show to Brisbane.

Dance Company Director: Very Very Powerful!

Mr. Baeza and Ms. Takagi, both of Japanese origin and directors of a dance company, thoroughly enjoyed the show. "I've never seen Chinese culture like this before," said Mr. Baeza.

From his viewpoint as a dance professional, he commented favorably on the choreography, and how the dancers moved as one body. "It's very nice, when one moves, they all move."

Ms. Takagi said, "You can see the amount of training they go through as a group. So it's not just an individual's skill, but as a group they are coordinated very well and you see the effort from all the dancers. And also I found the projected screen at the back fit with all the dancers."

Mr. Baeza said that he was especially touched by the piece, "Heaven Awaits Us Despite Persecution." This dance tells the contemporary story of a father who is persecuted for practising Falun Gong. Mr. Baeza said, "I definitely felt the oppression [in that piece]. That was very, very powerful."

"And the other dances were all about the beauty and peace and serenity. There was a huge flow of dancers. It was very well put together."

Ms. Takagi agreed completely with his comments and added, "I am Japanese myself, so I am not familiar with Chinese culture, but I could feel a very strong message from the last piece especially," referring to "Knowing the True Picture Offers Ultimate Hope."

Theatre Arts Professional To Shen Yun Artists: "Keep Doing It!"

Set and costume designer, Sharka, was very pleased to have attended the final show. She said, "It's amazing, it's incredible, it's beautiful, the movement--it is flawless."

Sharka has a master's degree in theatre production from the Czech Republic and presently works in the theatre. She said she was intrigued with Shen Yun's application of both ancient and contemporary media, commenting specifically on the backgrounds that are an integral part of each performance. "I think that is very nice, especially for the young audience ... to see things come to the stage," she said.

Shakra said that because she is a Buddhist and has studied Tai Chi, she is therefore interested in China's traditions and traditional Chinese dance.

She said the costumes were beautiful and the calibre of the performances was "Very good! It's incredible what they do. Beautiful! It's very traditional."

"Beautiful! Keep doing it!" was the message she wished to send to the Shen Yun artists.

Thanking the Organizers For Bringing Shen Yun To Brisbane

Lynette, a naturopath, also saw Shen Yun's final Brisbane performance. She drove an hour and a half from Nambour to Brisbane to see the show, saying, "I loved it--all of it!"

Ms. Blake, who has studied Chinese language, thought the costumes were "wonderful" but what struck her most was the refreshing freedom expressed by the performers. "It's lovely to see Chinese people who can say what they like," she said.

Ms. Paul-Brent brought her grandson to Shen Yun "as a treat to show him another culture." She said they had particularly resonated with the themes in Shen Yun. She said, "We are great believers in Buddha, so this has been an utter delight to see that the theme running through the show is based on ancient wisdom."

Shelley said she had found Shen Yun "visually different" and also "emotionally provocative" and for all of the reasons mentioned she was "thoroughly enjoying it."

She wished to thank the organizers for bringing Shen Yun to Brisbane.

Former Ballet Dancer: Everything Is Beautiful

Ms. S Oh, a former ballet dancer, attended Shen Yun with her husband, businessman, Moo S Oh. With her trained sensibilities from her years as a dancer, Ms. S Oh was greatly impressed by the performances of classical Chinese dance.

Acting as an interpreter for his non-English speaking wife, Mr. S Oh passed along her message of high praise. "The costumes, the stories, the technique--it's very good. The background, everything is beautiful!"

Ms. S Oh was captivated by the dancers' vitality and beauty. "What she said is, they look very attractive. They are young so the dancing is fresh," Mr. S Oh interpreted.

Mr. and Ms. S Oh, both originally from Korea, said they appreciated that Shen Yun artists are preserving China's authentic cultural heritage. "They try to keep to the original tradition."

Mr. S Oh said after watching Shen Yun one very clear message would stay with him. "They have a long history of civilization, 5,000 years. Their culture is from heaven."
