(Clearwisdom.net) Brilliant sunshine over culturally rich Dresden, the
capital of Germany's Saxony State, greeted Shen Yun Performing Arts to the
cultural center, Kulturpalast, on April 14, 2009.
Art teacher Ms. Reichelt took solace from the show. "The show for me, was
like 'balsam for the soul' because the modern people of today live at a much too
fast moving pace--and they plunge from one event to the next," she said.
"Here, one truly has time to let go and enjoy the gentle, fine overtones,
these pastel tones, and to appreciate what today hardly anyone can
experience."
"Yes, there is a synthesis between music, dance, pictures, the
3,000-year-old ink paintings, the movements of the dancers, the [songs' lyrics]
and the tones of the piano--all that comes together," Ms. Reichelt said.
"It is simply like a fairy tale, like a huge dream, a large bubble, which
beautifully dwindles down. It is just beautiful. In those hundred years of old
traditions, Western and Chinese traditions, Buddhism, Christian traditions,
contemporary traditions together; even if one looks at those lyrics--virtue,
honesty, then that is actually very global."
Oriental Dance Academy Teacher "could see the inner expression, it is
something truly unique"
Oriental and Middle Eastern Dance Academy director, teacher and dancer, Mrs.
Baddura was very interested to see what special qualities Shen Yun dancers
bought to the stage. "The dance was very impressive. You could notice the
combination, which was always mentioned, of the artistic side and the dance
side. One could notice that they were truly, very well trained dancers, who
really understand their tools. And that, in combination, with this wonderful
gesticulation from the Chinese dance, that is truly an experience," she
said.
As a dancer herself, Mrs. Baddura shared, "I could see the inner
expression, it is something truly unique. It was impressive, a big inspiration,
since I am an artist myself, I enjoy watching such performances. Also, great
costumes, great colors."
Music professor found Shen Yun "wonderful how the culture is brought out through the dances"
Ms. Schroter, a music professor, specializing in the violin, teaches at the High School for Music in Dresden. She spent one-and-a-half years in Asia, and thus has more than an inkling about Chinese culture. One of her students invited her to see the Shen Yun performance at the Kulturpalast.
Music Professor, Ms. Schroter
Ms. Schroter was very impressed with the Chinese dances and the dancers'
movements, saying, "It is amazing and wonderful how the culture is brought
out through the dances, and how it is expressed by the dance. This is mirrored
especially in the hand movements."
The piece played by the erhu virtuoso Zi Xiaochun she said was the most
memorable part of the performance. "This truly is something special. This
is what I want to hear when I go to such a performance. Excellent, what is seen
on the stage is very pleasurable. The costumes are beautiful. A lot of effort
went into this show, and everything was done marvelously."
She said that Chinese classical dance is truly very symbolic, and she also
thought the folk dance has great importance in Chinese dance. She said the show
was exceptionally well done and "I thank the artists for all of this."
