At the end of February 2009, practitioner Yang Lianshan decided to get some coal for his factory since the supply was running low. He hired a truck and went to the Mentougou Coal Mine to pick it up. On the way back, because the driver wasn't paying close attention, the truck overturned while taking a steep turn on a downhill road. It almost plunged into a deep gully. At that time, Yang was asleep. The accident left him with a broken rib, a 7-cm-long cut on his left cheek, torn ligaments in his right shoulder, and his lower teeth tore his lips. He bled a lot and was knocked unconscious. He regained consciousness after the doctor had finished sewing the cut on his face. The doctor said his injuries were very serious and that he needed to stay in the hospital for medical treatment. The driver also insisted on sending Mr. Yang to a larger hospital. Yang said, "I practice Falun Gong. Don't worry. I'll be okay. Just take me home." Since he persisted in his request, the driver had no choice but to bring him back home.
Yang Lianshan didn't think much about his injuries. That night, he endured the pain and finished practicing the five exercises, as though nothing had happened. He persisted in doing the exercises every day and recovered very quickly.
Because Yang Lianshan didn't stay at the hospital for even a single day and didn't ask the driver for any money, the driver felt very badly about the accident. He apologized and told Yang that he was willing to pay for any damages that he caused. However, Yang told him, "I practice Falun Gong. My Master asks us to be good people and always think of others when encountering any troubles. Just let it go, and don't be concerned about it." However the driver insisted on paying for the damages, which in the end amounted to only 12 yuan. That same day, the pain in Yang's torn right shoulder and his rib disappeared. He has recovered completely.
Before this accident happened, the driver didn't know that Yang Lianshan practiced Falun Gong. Now he knows and realizes that Falun Gong is really good and Master Li is truly great. He said he would never forget this miracle.
There is an old saying, "It will take 100 days if one is injured in the sinews or bones." Generally, if a rib is broken, one should rest for at least three months, and only try to do physical labor half a year later. However, after Yang Lianshan had broken a rib, he could do a light work in just seven days, and load a coal truck 14 days later. This is truly a miracle. After witnessing Yang's quick recovery, everyone praised Falun Gong as being indeed miraculous. Some want to read the Falun Gong books and others have already started to learn the exercises from Yang.
