(Clearwisdom.net) On June 6, 2009, the annual Newark Night was held in Newark, Delaware. It is one of the most important local events and attracts the biggest number of visitors. Near 20,000 people attended the event. Falun Gong practitioners in Newark were invited to participate for the ninth straight year.

As soon as the Falun Gong practitioners set up their booth, two undergraduate students from the University of Delaware came forward and said that they recently saw Falun Gong at a Health Expo at the university. They were pleased to meet the practitioners again and asked with concern, "Is Falun Gong still being persecuted by the CCP in China?" They were indignant after finding out that the CCP's inhumane persecution was still going on. They said that they wished to learn Falun Gong and took contact information for the local practice site.
Many people stopped in front of the Falun Gong booth, watched the exercise demonstration and listened to the practitioners' introduction of Falun Gong and exposure of the CCP's persecution. One gentleman said to the practitioners, "I looked up on-line to check how to contact you to learn Falun Gong. Now I've found you."
When the event was near the end, a lady working at a bank walked to the booth and asked, "Why does the CCP want to persecute Falun Gong?" She said that she had kept track of the persecution and noticed that it was especially brutal before the Beijing Olympics. She could not understand how a government could do that.
During the half-day event, the practitioners helped many local people learn about the CCP's brutal persecution of Falun Gong, introduced them to the principles of Falun Gong, and demonstrated the exercises. Many people expressed their interest to learn Falun Gong.
