(Clearwisdom.net) In June 2009, there were again a few more Dafa practitioners arrested in our area, creating a shouldn't-have-happened loss. Police ransacked homes of practitioners in different areas simultaneously. The raids were clearly arranged in advance. There are only two ways this could have been done--one is constant trailing and the other eavesdropping on phone conversations. Being persecuted for all these years, we have gradually matured and understood the issue of constant trailing and phone eavesdropping. But the issue of eavesdropping on the phone hasn't drawn our full attention. Even though Minghui.org (Chinese edition of Clearwisdom.net) has brought it up, I don't believe it said enough about cell phones. I am here today to once again remind all of us to pay full attention to this.
Eavesdropping over a cell phone works as follows: When A's cell phone, for example, is turned off, it can be activated by B's cell phone, enabling B to hear what's going on around A and A would have no knowledge of it nor is there any way for A to detect it. The only way to prevent this is to take the battery out of your cell phone should you want to talk about anything sensitive.
In other words, there's no security as long as you have a cellphone with you. I am not saying that we shouldn't use cell phones. We have to be ever-conscious of security. If you have a cell phone with you, don't casually talk about Dafa. Then, what should or shouldn't we talk about? Personally, I wouldn't mind talking about day to day things or about Fa study and Falun Gong exercises--there's nothing to conceal there or, Dafa practitioners' righteous, upright, and unshakable cultivation. When doing things for Dafa that needs security, things involving many practitioners, cellphone batteries have to be removed--absolute caution must be applied!
I discovered that my phone was being monitored a few years back. I had no idea when others called, because my cellphone didn't ring, but others heard the sounds around me and me talking. Since then I started paying attention to this, finding that when my phone was being monitored, outgoing and incoming calls were locked up.
Although I am not a professional, I feel it's necessary to tell fellow practitioners about the situation to hopefully minimize our losses. Meanwhile, practitioners who are professional in this regard are requested to give us further explanation.
The following article from the internet offers more information.
Cellphone eavesdropping exists everywhere even when the cellphone is turned off.
"In the special 28th edition of (Super-Thin New Knowledge Reader Digest), Asst Professor Li Daguang at the University of National Defense published an article analyzing why messages from a cellphone could be stolen. Prof. Li said, "Cellphone communication is a free electronic communication system, as long as you have a corresponding receiver, you are able to receive any conversation messages from anyone, anytime, and anyplace. Someone might ask, if I don't talk on my cell, how could you eavesdrop?"
"Prof. Li said, "Because since your cellphone is in a waiting mode, it keeps exchanging Internet signals. During this process, it produces an electro-magnetic spectrum that could easily be utilized for distinguishing, tracing, and monitoring, so that valuable information could be intercepted. Some people might say that if you turned off your cellphone, nothing would happen at all. However, even though your cellphone is off, your cellphone speaker could still be turned on by remote control with special electronic equipment to hear people talking within a specified range. In other words, as long as the cellphone is by his or her side, there's no way to protect ones privacy."
The only way to protect privacy is to remove the battery from your cellphone. In some countries, cellphones are not allowed in intelligence, military, and other important government offices.
