(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Zhang Sufang was a native of Changshou County, Chongqing. She was released in 2000 from the Chongqing Women's Forced Labor Camp because she was in grave condition after suffering long term mistreatment and repeated beatings. She died only a week later.
In 2000, Ms. Zhang was sentenced to one year of forced labor for practicing Falun Dafa. While she was imprisoned at the Chongqing Women's Forced Labor Camp, guards repeatedly ordered prisoners to beat her. Those prisoners used stools to batter her head and their elbows to strike her back. They kicked whatever part of her was closest to them. Once, inmate Li Juan squeezed out a large quantity of putrid pus from her back where she had suffered repeated beatings. On another occasion, an imprisoned practitioner counted nineteen wounds on just one of her legs.
Ms. Zhang was handcuffed most of the time, even at night. Her handcuffs were not opened even after she developed severe constipation, bloody stools, and difficulty eating. Because of the terrible condition of Ms. Zhang's health, other imprisoned practitioners appealed for her many times, but their appeals were ignored. It wasn't until an imprisoned practitioner sent a written appeal to the camp administration stating that Ms. Zhang was in grave condition that Ms. Zhang was finally released to go home to her family.
About a week later, Ms. Zhang died at home.
