(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 19 cities or counties in 10 provinces. In this report, 23 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention and at least 46 practitioners were illegally arrested.
1. [Yiyang City, Hunan Province] More Than Twenty Practitioners Arrested in Anhua County, Hunan Province
At 9 p.m. on June 6, 2009, more than twenty practitioners were participating in a Fa conference held in Ms. Xiao Jianqing's home in Meicheng Town, Anhua County, Yiyang City, when they were arrested by the local police.
2. [Sichuan Province] Supplementary Information on Persecution Suffered by Ms. Shen Jiafeng
On April 19, 2009, Ms. Shen Jiafeng, Ms. Sheng Chaozhu, and Ms. Zheng Zifang, practitioners from Huili County, went to the fourth team of Lachong Village in Huili County to distribute Shen Yun performance DVDs. They were reported to the police and arrested by officers from the State Security Division of Huili County. One month later, Ms. Shen was sentenced to one and half years of forced labor, and Ms Sheng and Ms. Zheng were each sentenced to one year and three months of forced labor. At the beginning of June 2009, Ms. Shen displayed serious symptoms of illness, and the Huili County Police Department and Detention Center asked her family to bail her out for medical treatment. On June 9, 2009, Ms. Sheng and Ms. Zheng were taken to Nanmusi Forced Labor Camp.
3. [Xingzi County, Jiangxi Province] Four Practitioners Including Ms. Shen Qingxiu Sentenced
Ms. Shen Qingxiu, Ms. Shen Huoxiu, Ms. Tao Heying, and Ms. Xu Linxiang, practitioners from Xingzi County, were arrested on July 6, 2008. They were detained in the Xingzi County Detention Center for more than ten months. During this period, Ms. Xu was released for medical treatment. On the morning of May 27, 2009, the four practitioners were taken to the Jiangxi Province Women's Prison by the Xingzi County Court. Ms. Shen Qingxiu and her sister, Ms. Shen Huoxiu, were each sentenced to three years of imprisonment. Ms. Tao was sentenced to two years and Ms. Xu was sentenced to one year.

Ms. Sun Weihua was arrested while she was distributing Falun Gong flyers in Guangzhou City. Her niece, Ms. Hu Yuxiu, was arrested at the same time. The police seized five computers and other property from Ms. Hu's home.

11. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Liu Fuqiang Detained in Dongling District Detention Center
At 10 a.m. on June 7, 2009, officers from the Shenyang City Police Department, Dongling District Police Department, and Nanta Police Station arrested Mr. Liu Fuqiang. They also seized his computer, CD/DVD burner, printer, Dafa books, truth-clarifying materials, cash, and cell phone. The value of the seized property added up to 10,000 yuan. He is detained in the Dongling District Detention Center.
12. [Tianjin City] Mr. Ma Hongzhi Detained for More Than Five Months
Mr. Ma Hongzhi has been detained in the Hedong Detention Center in Tianjin City for more than five months. His wife, Ms. Wang Xueling, has been sentenced to imprisonment. She is detained in Lingzhuangzi Women's Prison in Tianjin City.

14. [Zhucheng City, Shandong Province] Mr. Zhan Haigang Missing
Mr. Zhan Haigang, in his thirties, has been missing since the night of May 14, 2009. His whereabouts are still unknown. Before that, police officers from Zhucheng City went to his hometown to search his home.
15. [Junan County, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Fengxiu Arrested at Her Workplace
Ms. Wang Fengxiu, 37, is employed by the Xiangdi Water Bureau in Junan County. On June 9, 2009, she was arrested at her workplace. Afterwards, Ma Zongtao, director of local State Security Division, took some police officers to search her home.
16. [Shandong Province] Ms. Wu Guihua Persecuted
Ms. Wu Guihua lives in the Shengbei District of the Shengli Oil Field. On June 7, 2009, she was reported to police for clarifying the truth about Falun Gong and exposing the persecution. As a result, she was arrested by police officers from the State Security Division of Binbei Police Department. They also searched her home and damaged her furniture.
After being tortured for three days, her blood pressure significantly rose and she showed symptoms of heart disease. Fearing that they would be held responsible, the officers allowed her family members to pick her up after extorting money from them.

17. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Sun Aiqun Mistreated in Brainwashing Center
Ms. Sun Aiqun lives in the Fushan District, Yantai City. At night on June 7, 2009, she was reported to the police while she was distributing Falun Gong flyers. She was detained in the local 610 Office. Later, she was transferred to the Fushan District Brainwashing Center.
18. [Shahe City, Hebei Province] Ms. Wu Xiaoxia Forced to Leave Home by Local State Security Division
Ms. Wu Xiaoxia was arrested around April 25, 2009 ,by police officers from the local State Security Division. She was taken to the Shahe City Detention Center, where she was detained for 15 days and subjected to mistreatment. Just four days after she was released, she received notification of her sentence to forced labor. She was forced to leave home and become destitute to avoid further persecution.
19. [Baoji City, Shanxi Province] Several Practitioners Taken to Brainwashing Center
In late April 2009, the Shanxi Province 610 Office, Baoji City 610 Office, and Fengxiang County 610 Office set up a brainwashing center in the Fengxiang County Government Hotel. More than ten practitioners, including Ms. Yu Qin, Mr. Hong Ke, Ms. Xia, and Ms. Liu Hongyan, were arrested in turn. Several practitioners were then taken to a detention center.

20. [Zibo City, Shandong Province] The Whereabouts of Mr. Sun Zhonghui and Ms. Wang Shuzhen Unknown after Their Arrests
Mr. Sun Zhonghui is employed by the Qilu Petrochemical Company in Zibo City. Around May 28, 2009, he was arrested by local police. His home was searched, and presently his whereabouts are unknown.
Ms. Wang Shuzhen is retired from the Xinhua Pharmaceutical Factory of the Qilu Petrochemical Company. Around June 8, 2009, she was arrested,and her home was searched. Her whereabouts are unknown.
21. [Hebei Province] Recent Situation of Practitioners Arrested in Chengde City
On April 24, 2009, Ms. Bai Shuqin, Ms. Wang Xiuyun, Ms. Li Lanying, Ms. Xue Fuying, and Ms. Mi Tiekui were arrested by police officers from Chengde City. Presently, Ms. Bai is detained in the Chengde County Detention Center; Ms. Wang is detained in the Longhua County Detention Center; Ms. Li and Ms. Mi are detained in the Shuangfengsi Detention Center in Chengde City; and Ms. Xue is detained in the Kuancheng County Detention Center.
Ms. Li has developed an illness due to persecution. The police notified her family to bring money to the detention center to pay for IV treatments.

22. [Xinyang City, Henan Province] Mr. Liu Dingqun Taken to Sanshui Forced Labor in Guangdong Province
At around 4:30 p.m. on April 24, 2009, Mr. Liu Dingqun was working in the Dongcheng District in Dongguan City, Guangdong Province, when he was arrested by officers from the Dongcheng Police Station. He was then taken to the police station. On the night of April 25, 2009, he was transferred to Niushan Second Detention Center in Dongguan City. On June 9, 2009, the authorities sent him to Sanshui Forced Labor Camp in Foshan City.

23. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Li Yonghong Persecuted
On August 27, 2008, Mr. Li Yonghong was arrested by officers from the Dongpo Police Station in the Qingyang District Police Department. On October 8, 2009, his family received an arrest notification approved by the Qingyang District People's Procuratorate. Presently, he is detained in the Chengdu City Detention Center and being persecuted.

24. [Yueyang City, Hunan Province] Seven Practitioners Arrested
On the night of June 7, 2009, Shen Wenxin of the State Security Division of the Junshan District and officers from the Lou District Police Department arrested Mr. Xu Genyuan and Mr. Wang Yuejun. The two were brutally beaten.
At 5 p.m. on June 10, 2009, Tang Jianmin of the State Security Division of Lou District and several other police officers arrested Ms. Wang Liping in her store. Her home was searched, and her Dafa books, materials, several copies of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party, and a bankbook were seized. At first, she was detained in the Hubin Detention Center. She has been transferred and her whereabouts are unknown.
Seven practitioners from Yueyang City have been arrested. Among them, Ms. Zhao Qunlan is detained in the Yueyang City Detention Center; Ms. Zeng Chun and Mr. Wang Hongbo are detained in the Binhu Detention Center; and Mr. Zhao Qunshan is detained in the Junshan Detention Center. The locations of Mr. Xun Genyuan, Mr. Wang Yuejun, and Ms. Wang Liping are unknown.
25. [Chongqing City] Ms. Gan Lirong Arrested and Sentenced to Forced Labor
Ms. Gan Lirong, 54, lives in Longhu Community, Chongqing City. She retired from her position in a hotel in Shenzhen City. On April 21, 2009, while she was distributing Falun Gong flyers in the Jiulongpo Community in Chongqing, she was tracked and reported to police by the community security officers. She was arrested, and her home was searched. Her Dafa books, computer, printer, and CDs were seized. She is being detained in the Xinpaifang Police Station of the Yubei District Police Department. On July 7, 2009, she was sentenced to two years of forced labor.
26. [Hengyang City, Hunan Province] Ms. He Xiqiu Detained
On May 18, 2009, Ms. He Xiqiu, in her fifties, was clarifying the truth about Falun Gong and distributing DVDs of the Shen Yun Performance in Chashi Town, Hengnan County, when she was reported to police. She was then arrested by officers from the Chashi Town Police Station. She was beaten and hit with electric batons by five police officers. She was detained for 15 days and had 360 yuan extorted from her.

27.[Jiangsu Province] Ms. Sun Yong Arrested
Ms. Sun Yong, in her sixties, lives in the Gezhouba District, Yichang City, Hubei Province. At the beginning of April 2009, she went to Yixing City, Jiangsu Province, to visit her relatives and returned to Yichang City at the beginning of May 2009. Police officers from Jiangsu Province suspected that she distributed Falun Gong flyers in Yixing City, so they arrested her on June 5, 2009. Her whereabouts are unknown.
28. [Linshui County, Sichuan Province] Four Practitioners Arrested
On the morning of June 10, 2009, while Mr. Chen Bing was working in the Linzhou Hotel, he was arrested by officers from the Chengbei Police Station and the local State Security Division. He was detained in a detention center. On the same afternoon, his home was searched.
At 7 p.m. the same day, Mr. Ge Decai was arrested while he was on duty as a guard. The police officers searched his home and seized his Dafa books and an MP4 player, battery charger, unemployment card, and retirement insurance card.
At 9 a.m. on June 11, 2009, five police officers from the local State Security Division, including Hong Ying, tricked Mr. Zhang Guangqun into opening his door. That same night, Mr. Zhang Guangquan was arrested, and his home was searched.
