(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 7 cities or counties and 5 provinces. In this report, 7 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention and 12 practitioners were "illegally arrested."
1. [Huolingele City, Inner Mongolia] Ms Tan Liyun and Mr. Meng Hulun Arrested
On June 7, 2009, police from the Zhusihua Police Station, Huolingele, arrested Ms. Tan Liyun and Mr. Meng Hulun, when they were clarifying the facts about Falun Gong. They are detained at the local detention center.

2. [Chongqing City] Practitioners Li Hongrong, Liu Shiying and Tang Wanxiu Arrested
In the evening of June 15, 2009, officers from the Baguocheng Police Station, Jiulongpo District, broke into the homes of Ms. Li Hongrong, Ms. Liu Shiying and Ms. Tang Wanxiu. They ransacked the homes and then arrested the three practitioners. They are detained at the Huanyan Detention Center, Jiulongpo District.
3. [Huanggang City, Hubei Province] Practitioners Ms. Zhang Liuying and Ms. Wang Huazi Persecuted
On the afternoon of June 8, 2009, officers from the Dongmen Police Station, Hubei Province arrested Ms. Zhang Liuying.
Ms. Wang Huazi was taken to the Wuhan Brainwashing Center by officers from the Tuanfeng County Police Station, Huanggang City, Hubei Province.
4. [Xinyi City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Cheng Li Homeless Due to Persecution
Between the end of May and early June, officers from the Xinyi 610 Office and Baishi Township Police Station broke into the home of Ms. Cheng Li. They demanded she write a guarantee statement promising she would renounce Falun Gong. Ms. Cheng Li refused. On June 2, a dozen officers tried to arrest her, but failed. She escaped, but is now homeless.
5. [Guang'An, Sichuan Province] Mr. Jiang Jiquan, Mr. Deng Deyu and Other Practitioners Persecuted
Mr. Jiang Jiquan, Mr. Deng Deyu and other practitioners are suffering persecution. Mr. Deng Deyu was sentenced to 18 months of forced labor.
6. [Chongqing City] Ms. Qin Wei from Shapingba Arrested
Ms. Qin Wei was arrested and is detained in the No. 4 Group of the Chongqing Women's Forced Labor Camp.
7. [Changchun, Jilin Province] Ms. Qi Jing Suffering Symptoms of Heart Disease after Being Incarcerated in Brainwashing Center
On June 12, 2009, Ms. Qi Jing from Changchun City was taken to a brainwashing center. On June 15, due to the harsh treatment she suffered there, she developed symptoms of heart disease. The officials took Ms. Qi home. On June 17, she was hospitalized.
8. [Tianjin] Practitioner Zhang Runmei Arrested
Ms. Zhang Runmei, 36, earned a chemical engineering Master's Degree from and is a lecturer at Tianjin University. She was sentenced to two years of forced labor because she traveled to Beijing to appeal for justice for Falun Gong. She was fired from her job when she returned. In November 2004, she was arrested for the second time and taken to the Tianjin Women's Forced Labor Camp.
In June 2009, Ms. Zhang was again arrested by the police.
9. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Correction Regarding Practitioner Guang Yunqing's Ordeal
At 3:00 p.m. on June 8, 2009, officers from the Wenhua and Gexin Police Stations ransacked Mr. Guang Yunqing's home. They confiscated Falun Dafa books, various materials and valuables. They also arrested him. The officers extorted 5,000 yuan from Mr. Guan's daughter before releasing him. To escape further harassment and persecution, Mr. Guan decided to leave home and become homeless.
