(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 16 cities or counties in 9 provinces. In this report, 14 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention and at least 17 practitioners were illegally arrested.
1. [Jilin Province] The Heizuizi Women's Forced Labor Camp Extends Detention of Ms. Yu Xiuying
After one year of detention at the No. 4 Ward of the Heizuizi Women's Forced Labor Camp, Ms. Wu Xiuqin, a 42-year-old resident of Jingyu County, Baishan City, and Ms. Yu Xiuying, a 53-year-old resident of Helong County, Yanji City, were to be released on July 21, 2009. On the morning of July 23, 2009, Ms. Yu was beaten by Yang Wenyan, an instructor of the team. At approximately 8:00 a.m., Yue Jun, head of the Administration Office, went to the No. 4 Ward and locked Ms. Yu in a small cell. On July 24, 2009, around noon time, Ms. Yu was beaten for more than half an hour with her mouth covered. She is still chained and locked in the small cell and prohibited from using the toilet. No one is allowed to contact her.

2. [Wuchang City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Liu Huiqin Arrested
At approximately 7:00 a.m. on August 4, 2009, the Wuchang City 610 Office and the Public Security Department in Shanhe Town went to Zhenjiatun in Shanhe Town in an attempt to arrest three practitioners and search their homes. Two of the practitioners were not home at the time and escaped the ordeal. Ms. Liu Huiqin was dragged by her hair to a police car for protesting the arrest. She is currently held at the Wuchang City 610 Office. Several Dafa books and other personal items were taken from her home.
3. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Details of Ms. Wang Xiuli and Ms. Xin Yuanyuan's Arrests
In the early morning on July 5, 2009, Ms. Shi Ningyao from Dalian's Development Zone escaped police detention. That afternoon, the Domestic Security Department in Dalian City, the Public Security Department in the Development Zone, and the Wanli Police Station dispatched nearly twenty police officers to wait outside of Ms. Wang Xiuli's home. Shortly after 6:00 a.m. on July 6, 2009, seven to eight police officers rushed into her home when her husband was leaving for work. They arrested Ms. Wang and confiscated the couple's computer, laptop computer, printer, and other personal items.
At approximately 12:00 a.m. on July 6, 2009, five to six police officers broke into Ms. Xin Yuanyuan's office and arrested her in front of her ailing mother.
Currently both Ms. Wang and Ms. Xin are in Yaojia Detention Center in Dalian City.

4. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Lin Junyan's Illegal Detention in Forced Labor Camp Extended
Two years ago Ms. Lin Junyan was sentenced to two years of forced labor in Masanjia Forced Labor Camp. She was scheduled to be released on August 13, 2009, but her detention was extended for ten more days.
5. [Tianjin City] City Intermediate Court Attempts to Step Up Persecution of Mr. Wu Dianzhong
On January 12, 2009, Mr. Wu Dianzhong from Tianjin City was arrested by the Qingguang Police Station in the Beichen District of Tianjin City and was later transferred to the Beichen Detention Center. The Tianjin City Intermediate Court has recently indicated that the sentence for Mr. Wu will be extended to a four-year term. The verdict will be issued in ten days.
6. [Jinan City, Shandong Province] Mr. Shen Maotang Illegally Detained at the Jinan Detention Center
7. [Yi County, Hebei Province] Ms. Guo Shuhua and Mr. Kang Fushui Arrested
At approximately 10:00 a.m. on August 6, 2009, Ms. Guo Shuhua and Mr. Kang Fushui, both from Changyu Village, Yi County, were arrested by officers from the Jichang Police Station in Xishanbei Township, Yi County. The police smashed the furniture in Ms. Guo's home.
8. [Changle County, Shandong Province] Mr. Liu Qiang Arrested
At approximately 9:30 p.m. on August 6, 2009, Mr. Liu Qiang, who lives in Shuigoujian Village, was arrested by a group of officers from the Qiaoguan Town Police Station and the Changle Domestic Security Unit while he was resting at home. The next morning, Mr. Liu's mother and father-in-law and several other family members went to the police station to ask for Mr. Liu's release and were told that Mr. Liu had been sent to a detention center.
Mr. Liu Qiang's father, Mr. Liu Yongchun, has been held in a detention center for nearly three months. His wife, Ms. Meng Lingqiu, has been held in a forced labor camp for almost two months. His mother and daughter, who is less than 2 years old, were left at home alone.

9. [Zhouping County, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhang Aiqing Arrested
Ms. Zhang Aiqing, approximately 40 years old, who lives in Zhouping County, was arrested on August 5, 2009, by the Public Security Department in Zhouping County, and her home was searched. She is now in the Zhouping County Detention Center.
10. [Laiwu City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhang Peimei Arrested
On July 30, 2009, Ms. Zhang Peimei from Laiwu City was arrested by the Laiwu City Development Zone Police Station while she was clarifying the truth in the area. She is currently held in the Laiwu City Detention Center.

11. [Xuzhou City, Jiangsu Province] Mr. Song Yishu Arrested at Home
At approximately 10:00 a.m. on July 29, 2009, Mr. Song Yishu from Suining County, Xuzhou City, was arrested at home by Hu Jushu, and other officers from the local police station. He is currently at the county detention center. He is permitted to receive clothes, but not allowed visitors.
12. [Zhenzhou City, Henan Province] Ms. Huo Ping Persecuted by the Guancheng Public Security Branch
On August 5, 2009, when Ms. Huo Ping, a retiree in her fifties who lives in Zhenfei Residential District, was clarifying the truth in front of the Chengguan District government building, she was reported and arrested. She is now in the Chengguan Detention Center on Hanghai Road.
13. [Chishui City, Guizhou Province] Mr. Huang Shunde Arrested
In late July 2009, when Mr. Huang Shunde was clarifying the truth in Erli Township, Sichuan Province, he was reported and then arrested by the Erli Township Police Station. He was then sent to the Hejiang County Detention Center. When the Chishui City Public Security Department was notified of Mr. Huang's arrest, they searched his home and confiscated many truth-clarifying materials.
14. [Wanyuan City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Liao Qizhong Sent to Forced Labor Camp
At around noon on July 20, 2009, when Mr. Liao Qizhong, in his fifties, an employee of the Ankang Railroad Wanyuan Section, returned home from work, Ye Xudong, head of the State Security Unit in Wanyuan City, and four other police officers broke into Mr. Liao's home. They grabbed his watch and began to search his home. After failing to find what they were looking for, they arrested him and took him to the No. 2 Detention Center in Wanyuan City. He was detained there for fifteen days and then sent to the Xinhua Forced Labor Camp in Mianyang City for a one-year term.

15. [Jiahe County, Hunan Province] Ms. Li Zhumei and Two Other Practitioners Arrested
In the evening on July 6, 2009, Ms. Li Zhumei and Ms. Liao Hongcui, both from Jiahe County, were arrested in Dongta Park by the County 610 Office and the State Security police. After the police searched their homes, they took away Ms. Li's husband, Mr. Guo Huisheng. All three persons are being held at the Chengguan Police Station.

16. [Shaoyang City, Hunan Province] Ms. Xu Xiaoping Arrested on the Train
On August 4, 2009, Ms. Xu Xiaoping from Xinning County, Shaoyang City, and a female practitioner from Shaodong County, Shaoyang City, were arrested on Train T2 from Changsha to Beijing.
Ms. Xu, in her fifties, was sentenced to an eighteen-month term of forced labor in the Baimalong Forced Labor Camp in Zhuzhou City. She was released in May 2009.
17. [Changsha City, Hunan Province] Additional Information on Ms. Han Fengjiao
Ms. Han Fengjiao was arrested on August 1, 2009. She was later sent to the Legal Education Center in Changsha City.
18. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Mr. Chen Zuxin's Whereabouts Unknown
Mr. Chen Zuxin, in his fifties, is a resident of Tanshu Township, Caidian District, Wuhan City. On April 29, 2009, while Mr. Chen was clarifying the truth on Tanshu Street, he was reported and then arrested by the Zhashan Street Police Station. He was later detained somewhere in the Caidian District. His whereabouts remains unknown.

19. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Dongling District Courts Tries Ms. Yang Yakun and Five Other Practitioners
On June 23, 2009, six practitioners from the Sujiatun District in Shenyang City--Ms. Yang Yakun, Ms. Zhao Suxian, Ms. Tang Sulian, Ms. Guan Ping, Ms. Yao Yayun and Mr. Chi Minggang--were arrested by officers from the Taoxian Town Police Station of the Dongling Police Branch in Shenyang City. They have been held at the Zaohua Detention Center in Shenyang City for more than a month. Family members of all six practitioners have gone to the detention center several times but were not allowed to see the practitioners. It has been reported that the Dongling District Court in Shenyang City will try these six practitioners between August 13 and 14, 2009.

20. [Lingyuan City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Shi Yulan Arrested
At approximately 3:00 p.m. on July 30, 2009, Pei Ren, director of the Daoerdeng Town Police Station, and other officers went to the store owned by Ms. Li Shulan, a resident of Nanyingzi Village, in an attempt to search the place and arrest Ms. Li. Ms. Li managed to escape. The police then arrested Ms. Shi Yulan, a resident of Toudaohezi Village, and took her to the police station. She was released at approximately 6:00 p.m. the same day.
In the afternoon on July 31, 2009, Pei Ren and others went to Ms. Wang Honglan's home in Beiyingzi Village. They searched her home and destroyed Dafa-related materials.
