(Clearwisdom.net) July 9, 2009, was the first Saturday during the Quitting the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Month. As usual, at 10:00 a.m. we volunteers went to downtown Cambridge in England. A "Disintegrate the CCP and Stop the Persecution" banner, along with other banners related to the our quitting the CCP campaign, were displayed for the people passing by. The volunteers busily distributed pamphlets of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party, and clarified the truth so as to persuade the visiting Chinese people to make the "three withdrawals." We tried to send a strong message: Only by withdrawing from the CCP and its affiliated organizations can the Chinese people have a bright future. Meanwhile, we exposed the ugly face of the CCP to the visiting tourists coming from various nations.
Like volunteers at tourist sites all around the world, we have done this activity daily in our local area for almost five years. Currently, the Chinese people have become more clear-headed. Previously, Chinese tourists didn't dare take our handouts. Now, most touring groups take the Nine Commentaries pamphlet and other materials. On this day, through our volunteers' truth-clarification efforts, 25 Chinese tourists agreed--on the spot--to quit the CCP and its affiliated organizations. But the situation is different for Chinese students who come here to attend the university. Perhaps due to their ignorance about the evil nature of the CCP, many students are unable to tell right from wrong and are thus unwilling to listen to us and don't care about the three withdrawals.
When I handed a copy of the Nine Commentaries to an overseas Chinese student, he refused it and commented that "The CCP says that, and you say this. I don't want to get involved with this matter." But as long as our conversation continued, I felt that I should clarify the truth to him.
I replied with the following remark, "By what you said, I think that you don't understand the whole situation. The CCP continues to deceive people to stay in power over China. It promotes atheism so it can control people by taking away people's freedom and individual beliefs..."
As he listened quietly without any rebuttal, I continued to tell him more, "I have lived through three political movements in modern China. The first, the Cultural Revolution, was started due to Mao's jealousy. It impacted the development of China's national economy as well as the lives of innocent people. I saw one of my best teachers beaten to death after being criticized and denounced at a public meeting. The dean of my institute was forced to hang himself. My father was also criticized and denounced daily because he shielded me, a 15 year old girl. Many thought I should be distrusted as an odd-ball at school. The second movement ended with the June 4th Massacre of Students. In 1989 I lived by the Inner Loop of Beijing and personally witnessed the troops attack and shoot those poor students. The third movement was the qigong practices. My poor physical condition and my bad temper were not improved by qigong practices until I learned Falun Gong. I have practiced Falun Gong for 15 years, and I am healthy and sound with a firm hold on my temper." At this moment, the student questioned, "I don't believe it. How can practicing Falun Gong make one illness-free?"
I said, "This is a fact. Every day I do the five sets of exercises and then follow the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. One should not fight with others for his/her own interests." Then I told him that this level of behavior cannot be reached by an ordinary person but only by someone with this belief. I also gave him other examples. My own transformation and the other examples finally touched his heart. He said, "Now I understand. You are entitled to have your own belief, and others should not interfere with it. Good health to you and be cheerful! Take care!"
I recommended that he read the Nine Commentaries. This time he agreed. I also told him that to ensure his future he had better get rid of that evil mark, "No matter where you are, you will be a good person! How about quitting the CCP now with your pen name?" This student said happily, "Sure, and thank you, lady!" Perhaps my sincere concern for him moved him. I am joyful that he understood the truth and thus was saved.
