(Clearwisdom.net) Prior to beginning the practice of Falun Gong, I had a very serious gastrointestinal disease. In 1972, I was diagnosed with a duodenal ulcer and hospitalized several times as a result of hemorrhaging. My illness caused me to be very weak and I could hardly speak due to my lack of strength. More seriously, I developed severe constipation which could last as long as 7-10 days. On the evening of April 29, 1999, I went to a Falun Gong exercise site near my home and watched the video of Teacher's Lectures in Guangzhou. When I returned home I had diarrhea with black stool. After this, I no longer had the constipation and stomach trouble which were considered to be incurable. My recovery was all due to practicing Falun Gong! I was very happy.
Two months after obtaining the Fa, on July 20, 1999, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started the persecution of Falun Gong. Although it was not long since I had obtained the Fa, I studied the Fa several times and I had the Fa in my mind. I was able to recognize the lies from the CCP. No matter how crazy their lies were, I was not moved. I had strong righteous thoughts, believing in Teacher and the Fa. After July 20, I lost contact with other practitioners. I realized that I needed to find my own path in validating the Fa. In order to reveal the CCP's lies, I started to explain the facts behind the persecution to my family, relatives and friends. I told them that our Teacher said:
"The issue of killing is very sensitive. For practitioners, we have set the strict requirement that they cannot kill lives." (Zhuan Falun)
Teacher also said:
"Committing suicide is sinful." (Lecture in Sydney)
Therefore, how could a practitioner commit suicide? The Tiananmen Square Self-Immolation Incident was staged by the Communist regime to defame Falun Dafa. All practitioners wanted to be good people following the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. The evil CCP fabricated rumors, brought false charges against Falun Gong, and persecuted Falun Gong practitioners.
Through practicing Falun Gong I have gained many benefits. My health has improved and my Xinxing has reached a higher level. My personal story validates that Falun Dafa is good. One after another, my wife, my two sons, my daughter, relatives and friends understood the truth and started practicing Falun Gong. Over two dozen people asked for the book, Zhuan Falun. To solve the problem of shortage of books, I hand-copied Zhuan Falun. Later, more and more people asked for it and I could not meet the demand. Once, my eldest son downloaded a copy of Zhuan Falun from the internet. It was just like a big fortune sent from the heavens!
At the end of 2005, one of my relatives brought me a copy of Teacher's new lecture, "Teaching the Fa in San Francisco, 2005". I studied it several times, but could not understand it. Some concepts from the new lecture were new to me, such as "the old forces," "clarify the truth," "sending forth righteous thoughts" and so on. I did not understand. Suddenly it was as if awakening from a dream. I realized I was still a far distance behind on the road to validating the Fa. I thought my cultivation was not too bad prior to this. I studied the Fa and did the exercises every day. I was also telling many people that Falun Dafa is good. Thankfully, our great compassionate Teacher woke me up! I asked my son to try his best to visit the Dafa website. However, no matter what he tried, he was unsuccessful. We were at a loss as to what to do, until our Teacher enlightened us, and my son was unexpectedly able to download the anti-blockade software.
Teacher answered questions from the practitioners and said, in "Teaching the Fa at the 2004 Western U.S. Fa Conference":
"As their master, I won't leave behind a single Dafa disciple in Mainland China, except for those who've gone over to the opposite side and can no longer be saved. (Applause) I'm thinking of all of them."
Since that time, we can now easily visit Dynaweb and download Teacher's new lectures and books. I study those that I have never read before, all day and through the night. The more I study, the more I realize I am lagging behind.
I realized that I must catch up. Since then, I have been doing the three things diligently and persisting in sending forth righteous thoughts, studying the Fa, strengthening my righteous thoughts, eliminating the attachment of fear, clarifying the truth and saving sentient beings. During this time one of my relatives brought me several dozen copies of Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party, CDs, and other truth-clarification materials. I knew these were all arranged by Teacher who created opportunities for me to clarify the truth. My wife took some truth-clarification materials to other counties with another female practitioner. They stayed there to talk to people in several villages, and when most people heard the truth, they withdrew from CCP and chose a bright future for themselves. Meanwhile, I walked around areas in the city talking to people and delivering truth-clarification materials. The first time I went out, I made sufficient preparations, but I had fear when distributing the informational materials.
With continued Fa study, I am able to constantly go out to distributing materials and bring people the truth. The more I do this, the stronger my righteous thoughts are and the less fear I have. When I clarify the truth with strong righteous thoughts, people accept the truth and better results are achieved.
