(Clearwisdom.net) The audience at the Kennedy Center Opera House was once again spellbound during Friday evening's performance of Shen Yun Performing Arts on August 28, 2009. They resoundingly applauded the artists with requests for encores, two curtain calls, cheers and a long standing ovation.
After finding a flyer advertising the show by chance, Dr. Eric Foretich, an oral and maxillofacial surgeon, made sure to purchase tickets for his family. "It was so interesting and I kind of wanted to come. I bought tickets for my elderly parents who were with me, and also for my boys. I brought them here this evening."
Dr. Foretich was highly impressed with Shen Yun. He said, "I think that the quality of the performance was superb, absolutely superb."
The surgeon said that the message of the performance gave him a different perspective which could even be helpful for his patients. "I realized it has something to do with compassion. In my own mind, I tied that together with what I was seeing broadcast on the screen, and it seemed to make sense to me, that way of thinking about yourself, about the way you look at the world. I find it interesting, and I'd like to learn more about it for myself, and maybe for my patients, because there are a lot of things that I treat that are related to stress, it comes from the inside, which we really can't cure. As a doctor, this is what I want to learn more about."
Recalling the various aspects of the show that he especially enjoyed, Dr. Foretich said, "I thought it was so interesting, there were the dances, and the singers, and the musicians, the orchestra was phenomenal. I liked all the singers. The very first lady, I thought she was phenomenal, and I liked the tenor at the end. I think those two stood out for me, but there were four of them, and they were all good. The lady who did the Chinese string instrument (erhu), just enormously talented. And they come from all over the globe with Chinese ethnicity. And then to be based in New York, I found that quite remarkable, very remarkable.
The surgeon summed up his first experience seeing Shen Yun Performing Arts, saying, "It was perfect!"
