(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Xu Xianping, 43, is a resident of Xing'an District, Hegang City, Heilongjiang Province. She has been a Falun Dafa practitioner since 1996. In April 2002, Xu Xianping was arrested and her home was searched. Later, she was "illegally sentenced" to four years of imprisonment. In the Harbin Women's Prison, Xu Xianping was tortured with solitary confinement, hung up, beaten, and forced to sit on a cold cement floor for eleven days. In spite of the serious scurvy caused by the torture, she was not released until 2006.
In 2009, she was reported to the police for having talked with people about the persecution of Falun Gong. Around 9 a.m. on August 7, 2009, Duan Jingyi, the Director of the Xing'an Road Police Station, and five other police officers from the same police station broke into Xu Xianping's home. At the time, Xu Xianping and her sister were taking care of her sister's husband, who is paralyzed. The police took away all her belongings related to Dafa.
Xu Xianping is currently being detained at the No. 2 Detention Center of Hegang City. The wardens called Xu's family saying that she was not feeling well, and that they asked the family to send 500 yuan to the center in order to conduct a medical check. The family members went to the detention center to meet Xu Xianping, but were deprived of a meeting. Xu Xianping's husband said to the director of the police station, "Xu Xianping was healthy when she was home, I will sue you if she gets hurt!" The director answered, "we have nothing to do with this event. It's all the No. 2 Detention Center's responsibility. Go wherever you like to sue them."
