(Clearwisdom.net) Mr. Wang Yongkai, a Falun Gong practitioner in Dezhou City in Shandong Province, is being detained in Shandong Province Prison. He was sentenced to seven and a half years of illegal imprisonment on April 10. 2009. The announcement was mailed by the Shandong Province Prison to his sister's house.
Mr. Wang was born in Laoling County. After July 1999, in order to clarify the truth about Falun Gong, he went to Beijing to appeal. As a result, he was arrested, beaten, detained, and subjected to three years of forced labor. His family is very poor. After he was sent to forced labor, his wife, a non-practitioner, and his child, Wang Yiguang, had difficulty making ends meet and were frequently bullied. His wife became mentally deranged and was incarcerated for many days by the police station and government officials in Liuban Township, Laoling County. She could not withstand the pressure and ingested poison, which resulted in her death. She was only in her 20s, and their child was only eight years old. The child is now being taken care of his auntie and grandmother.
Mr. Wang returned from the forced labor camp and married Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Zhou Aiying, who has two daughters. The family of five had a hard life.
In 2005, officers from Bienfang Police Station in Chengyang arrested Ms. Zhou at her work unit and sentenced her to four years of imprisonment.
Mr. Wang was forced to become homeless to avoid further persecution. Ms. Zhou's two children returned to the care of their grandmother, who is in her 80s. Mr. Wang's son, Wang Yiguang, was not allowed to attend school and went with his father, both of them homeless and destitute.
On September 5, 2008, Mr. Wang was once again arrested by the police from Jimo City. He was detained and tortured. On April 10, 2009, he was sentenced to seven and a half years in prison. He was sent to Shandong Province Prison on April 10. Wang Yiguang, now in his mid teens, was taken in by his auntie. Later his grandfather took him in, and they have been trying to find ways to get him accepted back into school.
