(Clearwisdom.net) Over the past ten years, the Changshou District 610 Office in Chongqing City, together with the Public Security Bureau, Procuratorate, People's Courts of all levels of government and the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) divisions of the local county, village, town and municipality governments have illegally arrested, extorted money from, spied on, followed, eavesdropped, harassed, held brainwashing sessions, broken into homes and illegally sentenced to imprisonment hundreds of Dafa practitioners. Over seventy practitioners were sent to labor camps. The following are accounts of persecution of individual practitioners in the area.
1. Ms. Liu Xuelian
Ms. Liu Xuelian, 57 years old, traveled to Beijing to appeal for justice for Falun Gong in November 2001 but was arrested by policemen on Tiananmen Square and later transferred back to the Changshou Detention Center. There, she was subject to brutal force-feeding, and torture. For her belief in Falun Gong, she was illegally sentenced to three years of imprisonment by the Changshou People's Courts in October 2001 and thrown into the Yongchuan Prison. There she suffered even more brutality and her former heart disease returned. In 2004 the Changshou Judicial and Political Committee sent Ms. Liu to a brainwashing facility for a week. Even after she returned home, she suffered constant harassment.
At around 9:30 p.m. on November 28, 2007, Deputy Chief Wang Daocheng of the Changshou Public Security Bureau led a team of approximately seven policemen and broke into Liu Xuelian's house without any identification or warrants. Her place was ransacked and Dafa books as well as other personal belongings were stolen. Ms. Liu was arrested and taken to the local detention center where she was guarded by seven policemen. The next day, her heart problem returned and even then, she was only allowed to go home after being forced to pay 500 yuan. Due to long-term harassment, torture and persecution, Ms. Liu's physical and spiritual health severely deteriorated. Her heart problems got worse, her entire body become swollen, her feet became infected and she could no longer walk, becoming disabled.
2. Ms. Huang Shuhua
Ms. Huang Shuhua, 60 years old, is a resident from Yanjia Town in the Changshou District. After she started practicing Falun Gong in 1997, all her health problems were cured and she regained her health. In early November 2001, Ms. Huang was posting truth-clarification materials in Fengcheng Town, when she was arrested by Yu Hongping and three other policemen from the Fengshan Police Station. The next day, she suffered brutal force-feeding while both her hands were handcuffed behind her back, and her legs were shackled with a heavy weight. A few months later, she was transferred to the Chongqing Women's Labor Camp for further persecution.
On August 11, 2007, Huang Shuhua was distributing truth-clarification materials in Fengcheng Town and was reported to the authorities by a member of the Huangjiaowan Community Party Council. She was arrested once again. On September 20, she was illegally sentenced to imprisonment in the Shabao Women's Labor Camp in Chongqing City. There, she suffered brutal persecution including being monitored by criminals and being forced to perform physically strenuous exercises such as frog jumps, duck steps, and military exercises in the hot sun. The guards used fountain pen tips to stab the back of her hand, leaving long scars, and also used hot water to scorch her back, leaving huge scars there as well.
3. Ms. Wang Jinshu
Ms. Wang Jinshu is a retiree from Weinilun Factory. On November 13, 2001, Chief Liu Qisheng of the Chuanwei Police Station led Fu Jie, Tan Bin, Hu Guanzhong, Yuan Xiang and a number of other policemen to arrest Ms. Wang. They took her to the brainwashing facility at the Chuanwei Hotel. Due to her refusal to give up her belief in Falun Gong, Ms. Wang was transferred to the Changshou Detention Center on November 17, 2001, for further persecution. There she suffered forced-feeding and other brutalities. In December 2001, Wang Jinshu was illegally sentenced to two years of imprisonment and transferred to the Maojiashan Women's Labor Camp on December 21. There she was stripped of all her clothes for inspection, then locked in a small cell, and forced to perform military exercises and forced labor. After two years, Ms. Wang's factory employer refused to pay her pension and living expenses. On September 16, 2003, Wang Jinshu returned home only to suffer constant harassment and surveillance by the local community Party councils. Even her identification card had a special marking on it.
4. Ms. Wang Gaizhi and Mr. Zhang Benli
Ms. Wang Gaizhi and Mr. Zhang Benli, a married couple, are retired employees from the Weinilun Factory as well. In 2005, the couple was persecuted by the police. At around 1 p.m. on July 1, Chief Liu Qiqi of the Chuanwei Police Station and a dozen other policemen broke into their house without any warrant or identification. After ransacking their place, they stole the couple's Dafa books and other personal belongings. At around 2 p.m., the couple was arrested and taken to the Zhujia Town Police Station for interrogation. Due to their perseverance in their faith, they were taken to the Changshou Detention Center. Refusing to cooperate with the demands of the guards, Zhang Benli returned home on July 31. On August 2, 2005, Ms. Wang was illegally sentenced to eighteen months of imprisonment at the Maojiashan Women's Labor Camp.
5. Ms. Zou Hualan
Ms. Zou Hualan, 58 years old, is a retiree from the Changshou Agricultural Machines Company. After she began to cultivate Falun Gong in 1998, her former diseases including gastric problems and many others were miraculously cured. After the persecution of Falun Gong began on July 20, 1999, Ms. Zou traveled to Beijing and was illegally sentenced to forced labor at Maojiashan Women's Labor Camp for a year. However, she was not released until October 26, 2001 - an extension of 8 months and 9 days.
While at Changshou Detention Center, Zou Hualan was extorted for 5,000 yuan worth of "protection money." However, soon after being released she was illegally arrested again and taken to the police station for more persecution. One of her cellphones was stolen. The responsible party is the First Section of the Changshou Public Security Bureau.
In Mid-November 2001, Zou Hualan was taken to the County Party School's Brainwashing Center. While Chief Chen Zhi of the Changshou Judicial Bureau was defaming Dafa in a brainwashing session, Ms. Zou countered his defamation in front of everyone. She was immediately taken to the Changshou Detention Center for further persecution under the excuse of "disrupting class order." Because she practiced the Falun Gong exercises, she was illegally sentenced to another two years of imprisonment at the Maojiashan Women's Labor Camp. The First Section of the Changshou Public Security Bureau was again responsible, as are Yang Shufen from the brainwashing center and Li Chengzhu from the Agricultural Machines Bureau.
At around 10:30 p.m. on August 25, 2006, a dozen men from the First Section of the Public Security Bureau, the Fengshan Public Security Bureau and the local community Party Council broke into Ms. Zou's house again, stealing Dafa books and other truth-clarification materials, two computers, and a printer. They forcibly arrested Ms. Zou and took her to the Fengshan Police Station (she was transferred to Changshou the next day). Ms. Zou continued to shout "Falun Dafa is good!" along the way. September 2006, Zou was illegally sentenced to imprisonment in a labor camp for a year and a half. On October 19, she was released on bail after the Chongqing Women's Forced Labor Camp notified the authorities about her serious medical condition.
At around 2 p.m. on November 20, 2006, Gong Changhua from the Water Products Division of the Agricultural Machines Bureau called Ms. Zou and asked her to go to the Bureau to discuss some issues. Ms. Zou went to the Bureau but was ambushed by policemen waiting there. She was first taken to have a checkup to check for tuberculosis. After finding that Ms. Zou did not have tuberculosis, she was forcibly taken to the police station. At around 6 p.m. that night, Ms. Zou was taken to the Municipal Women's Forced Labor Camp. However, the labor camp refused to accept her and she was taken back to the Fengshan Police Station.
The next day, the local 610 Office and Public Security Bureau accused Ms. Zou of fabricating false medical claims to bail herself out, and the Women's Labor Camp was forced to accept her under pressure from the municipal government. There was not a single legal procedure followed or document signed in the process. Ms. Zou was finally released on February 22, 2008.
Responsible for her persecution are Wang Daocheng, Zhao Biao from the Public Security Bureau and a team leader surnamed Han from the Disciplinary Committee of the Agricultural Machines Bureau, as well as Chen Xiaoming and Gong Changhua from the Bureau. At the labor camp, Ms. Zou Hualan was prohibited from sleeping or bathing, and was handcuffed to a high railing. She was also forced to perform military exercises, suffered force-feeding, imprisonment in a dark room, was stabbed by needles, and suffered severe physical and mental harm.
6. Ms. Gao Yunxia
Ms. Gao Yunxia, 48 years old, is an inspector at the Changshou District Grains Transport Company. After beginning to cultivate in Falun Gong, all her health problems including migraines, gastric distress, and others, were healed. Her temper and character also improved, leading to a harmonious family life, and she often received praise from colleagues, family and friends.
On October 1999, Ms. Gao traveled to Tiananmen Square to appeal for justice but was arrested by policemen and sent back to the Changshou Detention Center where she was detained for a month. After being extorted for 5,000 yuan, she was finally released. In Mid-March 2000, Zhou Shufang and Protection Section Leader Chen brought seven or eight policemen from the Fengshan Police Station and stormed into Ms. Gao's house after tricking her into opening the door. She was taken to the detention center. Because she refused to give up her beliefs, Ms. Gao was persecuted and later sent to the Party School for a several-month-long brainwashing session.
At the detention center, Gao Yunxia was tortured on the death bed for several days and nights and suffered brutal force-feeding, beatings, and other abuse. In December 2000, Ms. Gao traveled to Beijing to appeal again but was intercepted by policemen at Shijiazhuang and was illegally sentenced by the Changshou People's Court to five years of imprisonment at the Yongchuan Women's Prison. There, she suffered inhuman torture and was finally released in late December 2005.
On February 25, 2007, Ms. Gao was clarifying the truth about the persecution of Falun Gong to two elderly citizens at Yangguang Place in Taohua when she was reported to the authorities. She was arrested by policemen from the Duzhou Police Station and taken to Yangguang Place for photographs, fabricated by the police station as "evidence." Ms. Gao's home was broken into and ransacked. Over 5,000 yuan in cash, a computer and other items were stolen. In June, the Changshou People's Court sentenced Ms. Gao to three and a half years of imprisonment in the Yongchuan Women's Labor Camp.
7. Ms. Huang Zhenglan
Ms. Huang Zhenglan, 46 years old, is a villager from Bake Town, Changshou District. Ms. Huang had many health problems from a very young age, including severe back pain, and neither Western nor Chinese medicine had any effect. In 1999, Ms. Huang began to practice Falun Gong, and soon all her health problems were healed.
In 2000, Huang Zhenglan traveled to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong but was arrested and taken back to Changshou. Later, the People's Court sentenced her to four years at the Yongchuan Women's Forced Labor Camp. In 2005, due to her refusal to give up her belief, Ms. Huang was sentenced to another two years of imprisonment. Throughout this time, the authorities used all kinds of methods to threaten her family, and tried to force her husband to divorce her. At the prison and labor camp (from October 2005 to July 2006), Ms. Huang suffered many inhuman tortures.
After returning home, the local town government, Public Security Bureau (phone number 86-23-40794222) continued to harass Ms. Huang often. At around 11 a.m. on September 29, 2007, Ms. Huang was on her way back from working in the fields when she was arrested by Village Chief Che Huaibing (Phone 86-23-40791103, Cell: 86-13637766899) and a gang of policemen led by Dai Shangyin from the Bake Town Judicial Committee. She was taken to the Wangxiangtai Chalet Brainwashing Center in Yubei District, Chongqing City. On October 6, Bake Town Armed Forces Chief Cao Zhanyue (Phone:86-23-40259198), Judicial Committee member Dai Shangyin (Phone: 86-23-40794148) took Ms. Huang away again and sent her directly to the Yanjia Mental Hospital for further persecution. The hospital locked her up and prohibited her from coming into contact with anyone, and forcibly gave her unidentified psychiatric drugs. When they couldn't find anyone to pay for her "hospital bills," Ms. Huang was released.
In February 2009, Huang Zhenglan was distributing flyers when she was arrested by the police again, and sentenced to two years at the Shabao Women's Labor Camp.
