(Clearwisdom.net) On the morning of January 26, 2010, a rally was held in front of the Chinese Consulate in Houston to condemn and protest the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) interference with Shen Yun Performing Arts' scheduled shows in Hong Kong. Shen Yun was forced to cancel all seven sold-out performances due to Hong Kong denying entry visas to key production staff. Participants in the rally also called on the Hong Kong government to correct its mistake.

Ms. Sun, director of The Epoch Times Houston branch, said in her address at the rally, "The Hong Kong government ignored the local people's expectations and succumbed to CCP pressure to block Shen Yun's shows in Hong Kong. It is a mistake, and it is damaging to Hong Kong. We hope that the Hong Kong government can correct this mistake and allow the people of Hong Kong to see the show as soon as possible."
Ms. Peng, representative for NTDTV's Houston branch
Ms. Peng, a representative for NTDTV's Houston branch, said, "The CCP has tried all means to interfere with Shen Yun's shows. Yet its intentions and means are all in vain. Countless people across the globe who have seen the Shen Yun show are supporters of Shen Yun Performing Arts. I believe that more and more people will speak out. Shen Yun Performing Arts will perform in Hong Kong, and even in mainland China."
Professor Hung from the Houston Medical Center said in her speech, "Shen Yun Performing Arts has toured the world and is warmly welcomed. The tickets for the scheduled shows in Hong Kong were sold out within a few days, demonstrating the popularity of the show. However, the Hong Kong government succumbed to CCP pressure and stopped the Shen Yun shows. The interference is a loss for the people of Hong Kong. We call on the Hong Kong government to correct its mistake and allow Shen Yun Performing Arts to visit Hong Kong as soon as possible."
