(Clearwisdom.net) It's been 18 years since Falun Dafa was first taught. I have truly felt the immense grace of Buddha from the practice. The practice has changed people and the society, it brings morality back to the society, and it makes people want to do good.
The Practice Quickly Spreads
In 1992, the China Sports Press carried Falun Gong in its headline. After I began to practice Falun Gong, I learned many people from my town had been to Teacher's lectures in Harbin, Tianjin, Shijiazhuang and Guangzhou. At the time, the book Zhuan Falun had not been published. In a park downtown, practitioners played Teacher's lecture tapes every day. Many people came to listen and do the exercises. Some practitioners who had been to Teacher's lectures spontaneously offered to establish practice sites. These practitioners went to the sites early every day and played the exercise music for those who wanted to learn and do the exercises. They also taught the exercises for free. They played Teacher's lecture tapes at home for the new practitioners. They asked nothing in return.
After Zhuan Falun was published, the number of practice sites went up and so did the number of practitioners. There was no registration and no fees were ever collected. Everyone studied the teachings together at night and did the exercises in the morning. By July 20, 1999, there were over 10,000 practitioners in my hometown.
A Pure Land
Teacher asks us to be a good person wherever we are. Practitioners never keep the money they find, they help each other, they treat family members with respect, and they do not take revenge when they are wronged. In Teacher's lectures or at Fa conferences, those who lost their belongings and money could always find them.
I know a practitioner who owned a dry cleaning business. She often found money in the pockets that the customers forgot to take out. She returned every penny. Her customers had a high opinion of Falun Dafa.
In the Fa study sessions, there were people from all walks of life. They respected one another, offered seats to those who needed them, helped those who couldn't read, and lent books to those who did not have one. Everyone shared his or her understandings with an open heart. They looked within and saw their mistakes when conflicts arose between them; they reminded one another how to best act based on the teachings. They improved themselves every day and became selfless. Many practitioners said, "Falun Dafa is a Pure Land."
Miracles from the Practice
Falun Dafa made me understand why I came to this world and how the practice could help me become an enlightened being. I had chronic diseases before I practiced: inflammation in my colon, throat, and stomach; sore shoulders; and insomnia. No medicine helped. When I began to read Zhuan Falun, I saw a large Falun spinning in my house. It was very beautiful with different colors. Shortly after I practiced, all my illnesses were gone. My fractured bones from an injury a few years before healed. My cheeks became rosy. I could walk effortlessly and did not get tired easily. I learned how to treat others with compassion and not to be attached to personal gain and fame. I was no longer angry. I behaved according to the principles of Truth-Compassion-Forbearance.
All seven people in my family practiced Falun Gong. My father had severe heart problems and abused alcohol. After he practiced Falun Dafa, he stopped drinking and smoking, and his heart condition disappeared. My mother had chronic emphysema and had to have fluid infusions during the winter. She became healthy after practicing. One day she was cooking in the kitchen with a pressure cooker. She normally sat by the kitchen door while she waited for the food to cook. That day, for no particular reason, she went to the balcony and walked for a little bit. Suddenly she heard a loud noise. The pressure cooker had exploded. Had my mother not left the kitchen, she would have been badly burnt. Teacher protected her.
People Are Awakening from the Chinese Regimes' Lies
In the past 11 years, practitioners' kind actions have awakened people from the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) lies. Many people believe what practitioners tell them about the persecution and that Falun Dafa is a good practice. Even the police know it.
A retired CCP member asked me to help him and his friend to quit the CCP. He said that the CCP killed many students in the Tiananmen Massacre and now is killing the practitioners for their organs. He said that the CCP is bound to be eliminated and all CCP members in his village have quit the Party. More and more people have asked me about Falun Dafa and the persecution. Some have offered to give me money, some have thanked me for telling them the truth, some have cried once they realized that Falun Dafa was what they had been looking for, and some could not believe what the CCP has done to torture practitioners. We have witnessed numerous earthquakes, unprecedented snowstorms, wind storms, drought, and epidemics. With all these natural disasters, people believe it when practitioners tell them that gods are eliminating the evil CCP.
