(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 5 cities or counties in 3 provinces. In this report, 4 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 12 practitioners were illegally arrested.
1. [Hubei Province] Ms. Li Jing Tortured to a Life-threatening Condition in the Guangzhou Women's Forced Labor Camp
Hubei Province practitioner Ms. Li Jing, 36, is an employee of the Yimanning Garment Factory in Guangzhou City. Officers from the Fengyang Police Station in Kangle Village, Haizhu District, Guangzhou arrested her on September 25, 2010. They sentenced her to a one-year-and-nine-month labor camp term. She is now in the Chatou Women's Forced Labor Camp in Guangzhou.
Ms. Li was handcuffed and shackled at the Haizhu District Detention Center. Her wrists and ankles had deep marks and there were bruises on her arms and legs. Once at the Guangzhou Women's Labor Camp, Ms. Li was tied up in a chair to be force-fed. She looks pale and emaciated. The force-feeding tube was left permanently in her nostril because of her life-threatening condition.

2. [Luoyang City, Henan Province] Court Hearing to Be Held for Ms. Cui Xianmiao
Police officers in Dengfeng City arrested practitioner Ms. Cui Xianmiao. Dengfeng Court officials scheduled a hearing for her on October 28, 2010.
3. [Huludao City, Liaoning Province] Seven Practitioners Arrested and Abused at the Huludao Brainwashing Center
Several practitioners in Huludao City and the surrounding areas have been arrested since October 20, 2010 and sent to brainwashing centers. Some practitioners were harassed.
Ms. Qin Haiyan, a practitioner from Yuantaizi Town in Xingcheng City, was arrested on the afternoon of October 22. Seven practitioners have so far been arrested.
4. [Xinbin County, Liaoning Province] Ms. Lian Yuer and Other Practitioners Arrested
Officers from the Xinbin Town Police Station arrested the following practitioners one day in October 2010: Ms. Lian Yuer, Ms. Wang Xiuzhen, Ms. Wang Xiuqing, and an elderly woman surnamed Xue. All the practitioners are residents of Chapeng Village, Xinbin County. Police extorted 5,000 yuan from each family and released the practitioners that night. Police continued to harass them afterwards.

5. [Chongqing] Mr. Wang Xingkai Detained for Nearly 14 Months
Mr. Wang Xingkai is a practitioner in Hanfeng Town, Kai County. Agents from the 610 Office went to his home on the morning of September 16, 2009 and confiscated tools and equipment for preparing truth-clarification materials, including several computers. The financial loss was about 30,000 yuan. The agents also arrested Mr. Wang and his wife Ms. Yi Weixiang and sent them to the Kai County Detention Center.
Their adult daughter, their only child, works in Shanghai. She hurried to the local police station after learning of her parents' arrest. Police officials demanded money from her. She could only pay 12,000 yuan. They said the amount would only be sufficient to release one person. They released her mother two weeks later. Mr. Wang has been kept in the Kai County Detention Center all this time, for nearly 14 months. His retirement pension was stopped and Ms. Yi has no job or income.

6. [Chongqing] Ms. Hu Yuanju Sent to a Forced Labor Camp
Ms. Hu Yuanju is a 57-year-old practitioner from the Wanzhou District. She was arrested on a train heading for Chongqing on her way home from another city in early October. Officers from the Wanzhou Police Department arrested her, held her at the Zhoujiaba Detention Center in the Wanzhou District, and then sent her to a forced labor camp, with a term of one year.
Officers from the Wanzhou Police Department had gone to Ms. Hu's home one day last July. They searched everywhere but could not find anything they wanted. The agents did not give up and sent people to follow and harass her for a long time. Ms. Hu had no choice but to travel to Xinjiang and find a job there. She planned to return home in early October, but the above-described arrest ensued.
