(Clearwisdom.net) In Mainland China, a hierarchy among practitioners exists in some areas. Coordinators have different cultivation levels and those who believe that they have achieved a higher level want those they believe to be of a lower level to listen to what they have to say. Some even think that highly experienced practitioners or those that are officials in ordinary society should be coordinators. Therefore, I would like to share my views on the subject. Please point out if anything is inappropriate.
The coordinators in China are not elected or appointed by anyone. In the process of cultivation, they played roles in validating Dafa, serving as contact persons and coordinators so that all practitioners in that area could work as one body in doing the three things. The way I look at it, coordinators are also practitioners, but have the ability and enthusiasm to take on such a task. They are predestined to take on this position and also are given the ability to fulfill such a function. This position means responsibility.
Master said, "The entire cultivation process for a practitioner is one of constantly giving up human attachments." (Zhuan Falun). A coordinator must focus on Fa study, take the Fa as the guide and be responsible for the whole body, for fellow practitioners and for sentient beings. He should associate with practitioners, help every practitioner improve in the Fa, do things according to the Fa, share with others and correct others' shortcomings. He should let practitioners participate in projects according to their levels and not order or force others to listen. He should coordinate with the mindset of being responsible for the salvation of sentient beings.
Master said,
"All of our volunteer workers must first be genuine cultivators with high-level xinxing, as they are role models for xinxing cultivation. We do not need the types of leaders like those among everyday people." ("It is not a Job, but Cultivation Practice," in "Essentials in Further Advancement")
"Then how can we do the assistant job well? First off, you should treat yourself as one of the students instead of considering yourself above them." ("How to Provide Assistance," in "Essentials in Further Advancement")
Therefore, as a coordinator, he not only needs to cultivate well, but also must assist Master in validating Falun Dafa and harmonize what Master wants.
Master does not want to leave behind a single practitioner. He wants to save countless sentient beings. In order to save more sentient beings, every practitioner needs to play a role and fulfill his mission. I think this is the responsibility and mission for a coordinator. Master said:
"A person who has a position of responsibility is actually a coordinator, and getting more capable people involved is what's key. How big of a role can any one individual play? Only when the group as a whole plays its role has the coordinator done well. When a coordinator does well himself, well, if you're the only one doing well, then you should just be an average student in that case. The key is that you have got to play the role of and fulfill the duties of a coordinator." ("Teaching the Fa at the Western U.S. International Fa Conference").
A coordinator should share experiences with coordinators in other areas and learn from them, furthering communication between different areas. This way, we can improve as a whole body. In doing this, he is also walking his own path, fulfilling his mission and achieving his goal of reaching consummation.
In some areas, practitioners attributed the improvement of that area to the coordinator. They are very grateful to that coordinator. In fact, it is Master's compassion and Dafa's mighty power! Master said:
"Cultivation depends on one's own efforts, while the transformation of gong is done by one's master. It is good enough if you have this wish. It is the master who actually does this, as you are simply unable to do it." (Zhuan Falun)
