(Clearwisdom.net) On November 3, 2010, Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Liu Yuanbo was illegally arrested and put in Huaihua Brainwashing Center. Mr. Liu went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution. After ten days, Mr. Liu's weight dropped from 67kg (150 pounds) to 40kg (88 pounds). He is now in critical condition.
Mr. Liu Yuanbo runs a repair shop. On the morning of November 3, Zhai Xiaoming led 610 Office staff as well as Danshan Residential Committee members from Chenxi County, and broke into Mr. Liu Yuanbo's home in Chenxi Coal Mine Residential Neighborhood. Only Mr. Liu's parents were at home. Mr. Liu and his wife had gone to visit his mother-in-law.
The perpetrators left two people to stand guard at Mr. Liu's home in case he returned. The other four went to the home of Mr. Liu's mother-in-law, and threatened to break the door down. Mr. Liu's mother-in-law had no choice but to open the door, and the officials then spotted Mr. Liu in the house. They pretended to be friendly, putting their hands on Mr. Liu's shoulder and inviting him to come with them. Seeing them pushing his shoulder and chest, Mr. Liu's mother-in-law asked, “Are you arresting him?” They lied to her, “No. We just need to ask him a few questions. He will be back soon.” Mr. Liu was then taken to the Danshan Residential Committee office.
There they told Mr. Liu to write and sign a guarantee statement to stop practicing Falun Gong. They also brought Mr. Liu's aging parents there, telling them, “Your son doesn't want to sign the guarantee statement. But everyone else has signed.” At 5:00 p.m., they took Mr. Liu to Huaihua Brainwashing Center.
After more than ten days, Mr. Liu's family went to the brainwashing center and asked for Mr. Liu to be released. Instead of releasing him, the officials threatened the family. On November 23, Mr. Liu's parents went to the brainwashing center and saw that Mr. Liu had been tortured, and was in critical condition. They cried, heartbroken seeing him this way. They again requested Mr. Liu's release, but were denied.
