(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 16 cities or counties in 9 provinces. In this report, 68 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention and at least 12 practitioners were illegally arrested.
1. [Jianyang, Sichuan Province] Mr. Wu Bangrong and Other Practitioners Held in a Brainwashing Facility
Following the arrest of Mr. Wu Bangrong by the Jianyang City police on July 15, 2010, Jiangyang City Political and Judiciary Committee head Zhong Shiquan and Jiangyang City Police Department head Wang Shaojie formed a joint special task force to persecute Falun Gong practitioners. They arrested Mr. Chen Yongjian, Ms. Wang Liqun, and Ms. Xie Enqun on August 12 and arrested Mr. Zeng Pingshu and Mr. Ma Daiheng on October 20. They confiscated the practitioners' satellite receivers, computers, printers, CD burners, Falun Gong books and informational VCDs, and other materials.
The above-mentioned seven practitioners are in the Erehu Brainwashing Center in Yingjie Town, the Yanjiang District, Ziyang City.

2. [Chongqing] Mr. Xia Dong Held in the Huayan Detention Center in the Jiulongpo District
3. [Enshi, Hubei Province] Ms. Rao Danjun Faces Persecution in a Brainwashing Facility
Ms. Rao Danjun is employed at the Enshi City State Taxation Bureau. Her salary was downgraded in 2000, and she was illegally detained in 2003. 610 Office agents, Domestic Security Division officer Tang Mingting, and others arrived at Ms. Rao's workplace on December 9, 2010, to try to brainwash her. Ms. Rao did not comply. We learned that the 610 Office agents talked to Ms. Rao's employer on December 15, in an attempt to take her to the Wuhan Brainwashing Center.
4. [Chongqing] Eighteen-year-old Mr. Yang Jun Died As a Result of the Persecution
Mr. Yang Jun was from the Shapingba District. Officer Wei Zexiang from the Baiheling Detention Center tortured him to death the afternoon of December 13, 2010.
5. [Nanjing, Jiangsu Province] Circumstances Regarding Ms. Wu Shunzhen and Others
Ms. Wu Shunzhen, Mr. Wei Min, and another practitioner from Nanjing were arrested on December 10, 2010. Two practitioners accompanied Ms. Wu's family to the Nanjing City Detention Center on December 13 to demand her release. The center officials told them to go to the Taowu Police Station to find her. After they arrived at the station, 610 Office agents arrested them. The practitioners have since returned home.
6. [Nanjing, Jiangsu Province] Mr. Han Mingchao Arrested
Mr. Han Mingchao was arrested on December 10, 2010, as he spoke with people about Falun Gong and the persecution at his workplace.
7. [Dalian, Liaoning Province] Ms. Fang Caixia Held in Masanjia Forced Labor Camp
Ms. Fang Caixia, in her 40s, lives in Xinzhaizi, the Ganjingzi District. She was arrested on April 3, 2010. Officers from the Gezhenpu Police Station made the arrest and held her at the Yaojia Detention Center that same night. Ms. Fang was taken to Masanjia Forced Labor Camp on April 26, 2010, and held in Division 3. She is currently in Division 1. Her family made several attempts to visit her, but were turned down.
8. [Xichang, Sichuan Province] Additional Information Regarding the Persecution of Ms. Zhao Jun
Ms. Zhao Jun, 53, is retired from the Tongde Construction Company. She was arrested on November 30, 2010, in Xiaomiao Township as she spoke with people about Falun Gong. She is currently held in the Xichang City Detention Center in Xiaomiao Village. The city's State Security Division agents ransacked Ms. Zhao's home and her mother's home.
Ms. Zhao's father is in his 70s and is half-paralyzed. Her mother has poor hearing and eyesight. Her blind younger brother lives with her mother. Her husband was just discharged from the hospital. The entire family relies on Ms. Zhao to take care of them.
9. [Qinhuangdao, Hebei Province] Mr. Chen Youtian's Wife Arrested
Mr. Chen Youtian lives in Hetaogou, Qinglong County. Local township government officials ransacked his rented home at around 2:00 p.m. on December 13, 2010. Mr. Chen's wife was arrested.
10. [Chongqing] Ms. Tan Yingyue Suffers a Nervous Breakdown As a Result of Persecution in the Chongqing Women's Forced Labor Camp
Ms. Tan Yingyue was twice subjected to brutal physical abuse and torture at the Chongqing Women's Forced Labor Camp. During her detention in February 2007 she was placed in an isolated room in Division 4. Guards and drug addicts physically abused her around the clock. They stabbed the soles of her feet with sharp needles, making her feet bleed. Drug addicts held her down on the ground and beat her. Her mouth was badly cut and bled profusely. Drug addicts Fu Min and Zhang Lu gagged Ms. Tan with filthy cloth and then taped her mouth and head, almost causing Ms. Tan to suffocate. Division 4 deputy head Hu Xiaoyan ordered a clinic doctor to inject Ms. Tan with drugs that damaged her central nervous system. Ms. Tan appeared to suffer from a nervous breakdown several days later. The guards released her on medical parole. Ms. Tan returned home, mentally confused. She often has hallucinations and talks of wanting to jump from a high building. She lives daily in the shadow of fear.
11. [Liaoning Province] Dalian Prison Guards Physically Abuse Mr. Wu Bo
Mr. Wu Bo from Haicheng was subjected to severe physical abuse and mistreatment in the Dalian Prison. His weight dropped to about 66 lb. The guards initially stirred up the criminal inmates' hatred toward Falun Gong practitioners. If a practitioner did not give up his belief, all the inmates would be punished. Later on, the criminals spat on Mr. Wu and bullied him. They made Mr. Wu stand for three hours each day. Mr. Wu unsuccessfully protested their mistreatment many times. He decided to resort to a hunger strike. The guards tied him to a bed for 24 hours and force-fed him. Off and on, the torture has lasted for more than two years. Mr. Wu has developed symptoms of severe diabetes.
12. [Sichuan Province] Practitioners Illegally Held in the Xinjin Brainwashing Center in Chengdu City
Practitioners held in the Xinjin Brainwashing Center in Chengdu City include: Ms. Ding Hui, Ms. Deng Zhongsu, Ms. Huang Suhua, Ms. Liu Xiuwen, Ms. Xu Yourong, and Ms. Du Fengqin. Ms. Huang has been held there for one year and seven months. She is on a hunger strike to protest the illegal detention.
13. [Nanle County, Henan Province] Mr. Guo Xianghu Arrested
Mr. Guo Xianghu teaches at Yuancun Town High School. While at work around 11:00 a.m. on December 2, 1010, Nanle County Domestic Security Division agents along with officers from the Yuancun Town Police Station rushed into his workplace and took him to the principal's office to interrogate him. The police later searched his residence. Mr. Guo is currently in the Nanle Detention Center.
14. [Chaoyang, Liaoning Province] Ms. Li Lijuan, Ms. Liu Feng, and Ms. Wang Caijin Arrested
Ms. Li Lijuan, Ms. Liu Feng (a kindergarten principal), and Ms. Wang Caijin from Dapingfang Town were arrested the morning of December 13, 2010. They were taken to the Xiangyang Police Department in the Longcheng District.

15. [Chengdu, Sichuan Province] A Practitioner Surnamed Yu Arrested
A practitioner surnamed Yu from Chengdu City passed by Jiaguan around 11:00 a.m. on November 10, 2010, when the police brutally beat him in public. The police later held him in the Jiaguan Police Station and continued beating him. He was taken to the Qionglai Detention Center in the evening and detained two weeks before being released. His home was ransacked the same evening of his arrest. Several Falun Gong books were confiscated.
16. [Dalian, Liaoning Province] Ms. Liang Ailing Arrested
Ms. Liang Ailing, in her 50s, is from Xinzhaizi, Dalian City. She gave a migrant worker a DVD of the Shen Yun performance the morning of December 13, 2010, in the Xinxing Lucheng residential area. The worker called police officers who arrived to arrest Ms. Liang.

17. [Shihezi, Xinjiang Autonomous Region] Ms. Wang Min Arrested; Her Whereabouts Unknown
Ms. Wang Min, 42 years old, works at Farm No. 149 in Shihezi. She was arrested at 4:00 p.m. on December 13, 2010, as she spoke with people about Falun Gong on an old street in Shihezi City. Her whereabouts are unknown.
18. [Heishan County, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wang Zhilan Arrested
Ms. Wang Zhilan from Raoyanghe Town was arrested on December 14, 2010. She was taken to the Raoyanghe Police Station.

19. [Anshan, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wang Xiufen and Ms. Cai Qiuling Face Illegal Sentencing
Ms. Wang Xiufen and Ms. Cai Qiuling are nearly 70 years old. They were arrested on August 6, 2010, for speaking with people about Falun Gong. Participating in their arrest were officers from the Shenbei Police Station of the Lishan Police Department. When Ms. Wang was arrested, several officers dragged her on the ground. She showed symptoms of severe high blood pressure and a heart problem. The intended prison refused to accept her. Ms. Wang returned home, but the police continuously harassed her. Ms. Cai was held in the Anshan No.1 Detention Center.
Ms. Cai and Ms. Wang are facing illegal sentencing. The police submitted documents indicting the two practitioners to the Procuratorate.

20. [Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Fu Hai Subjected to Long-term Physical Abuse in Tailai Prison, Deprived of Sleep

Ms. Li Yaping from the Fengrun District was arrested around 10:00 a.m. on November 27, 2010, as she spoke with people about Falun Gong and handed people Shen Yun performance DVDs. Officer Chen Jianfu from the Fengrun District's 610 Office made the arrest. Officer Fu Wenguo beat Ms. Li ruthlessly in the Linyin Road Police Station, causing her face to swell. Ms. Li was taken to the Fengrun District Detention Center around 10:00 p.m. that same day. She was illegally detained for two weeks. When her family arrived to take her home on December 11, they were told that Ms. Li was given one year of forced labor. She was taken to Kaiping Forced Labor Camp around 10:00 a.m. that same day.

22. [Chifeng, Inner Mongolia] Circumstances of Ms. Zhou Shuyuan and Other Arrested Practitioners
Ms. Zhou Shuyuan, Ms. Zhang Cuimin, Ms. Zhang Shuqin, Ms. Xiao Mei, and Ms. Xiao Yi are currently in the Sanyanjing Detention Center. Ms. Cui Yueqiu is in the East Detention Center.
23. [Fujian Province] Circumstances of Practitioners in Ningde
Several dozen practitioners in Ningde have been subjected to illegal detention, forced labor, and sentencing since 1999. Among them was Ms. Li Chunxiang, 47, who was subjected to one year of forced labor. She is paralyzed as a result of persecution.
The following is a brief overview of several practitioners in custody:
Ms. Zhang Nenxiang, 36, was held in a brainwashing facility twice and subjected to one month in a detention center and three and a half years of imprisonment.
Ms. Huang Keqiu: one month in a brainwashing facility and one month in a detention center.
Mr. Chen Xiaoqian: in a detention center for two weeks.
Mr. Wu Xiaogang, 47 years old, in a detention center for one month.
Ms. Huang Cuijing was in a detention center for two weeks and then subjected to two years of forced labor in 2000. She was held for eight months in a detention center beginning September 15, 2004, before she was released on bail.
Ms. Xu Ping spent two weeks in a detention center and was incarcerated in a brainwashing facility twice.
Mr. Xu Jianjin, former Jiaocheng District Discipline Inspection Committee Director, was sentenced to three and a half years.
Mr. Chen Cijin, 65 years old, sentenced to five years of imprisonment.
Ms. Chen Yayan, 62, subjected to two years of forced labor.
Ms. Wu Huibin, 45, subjected to forced labor twice, totaling three years.
Ms. Yang Baorong, 48, subjected to one and a half years of forced labor.
Ms. Chen Yunjiao, 63, subjected to forced labor twice, three years in total.
Ms. Xu Ping: illegally detained for 30 days.
Ms. Xiao Fang: held in a brainwashing facility.
Mr. Ruan Weinong, 40; Mr. Wu Yong, 36; and Mr. Xiao Chuanxiong, 58, were each sentenced to five years in prison.
Ms. Zuo Cuiqiong: illegally detained for two weeks, sentenced to two years in prison before she was released on bail.
Ms. Ai Yan, 70, was subjected to one year of forced labor.
Ms. Gong Limei, former Ningde Teacher's College library staff, was sentenced to four years in prison and fired from her job.
Ms. Qiao Fen; detained for two weeks.
Ms. Zhang Chunying, 55, was subjected to one year of forced labor. She was released after her employer posted bail for her release.
Ms. Ma Cuiying, 61, was detained for 30 days, subjected to forced labor twice, and sentenced to four years in prison for a total of seven years and nine months.
Ms. Gui Yu, 57, subjected to a year and a half of forced labor, sentenced to four years in prison.
Ms. Chen Xingguang, 61, sentenced to five years in prison and subjected to forced labor twice; total incarceration: eight years and nine months.
Ms. Chen Shaidan, 70, was subjected to forced labor twice, totaling two years.
Ms. Zheng Xiuying, 57, held in a detention center for 45 days.
Mr. Chen Junxi, 63, held in a detention center for 30 days.
Ms. Lin Fen, 47, held in a detention center for two weeks and subjected to one year of forced labor.
Ms. Ruan Aiyin, 49, held in a detention center for two weeks, subjected to forced. labor twice, and sentenced to imprisonment twice, totaling five years.
Ms. Zhou Huaping, 31, held in a detention center for two weeks, subjected to forced labor once, sentenced to imprisonment once, totaling six and a half years incarceration.
Mr. Lin Yongliang, 45, sentenced to seven years in prison.
Mr. Lin Yongshou, 37, subjected to one to two years in a forced labor camp.
Ms. Chen Jia, 33, subjected to two years of forced labor.
Ms. Kang Hua, held in a detention center for 30 days.
Ms. Fu Hua, sentenced to four years in prison and fired from her job.
