(Clearwisdom.net) Shen Yun Performing Arts was warmly welcomed back to the Times-Union Center for Performing Arts in Jacksonville, Florida on January 30, 2010.

State Representative: "This is a fabulous production!"

State Representative for the state of Florida, Mr. Charles McBurney, thoroughly enjoyed the show, saying, "This is a fabulous production! I am just amazed at the beauty, the movement, the costumes, and the dancing. There is no other word for it except fabulous- it was truly fabulous.

"As much as anything--the dancing and the movement, the choreography, the costumes--all of it is just beautiful!"

State Rep. Charles McBurney was at the Times-Union Center to see New York-based Shen Yun Performing Arts on Jan. 30.

When asked if he would encourage his friends and relatives to come to the show, he replied, "Yes, I would encourage them to come and experience this program. They will come away with a real appreciation of Chinese music and culture."

Theater and dance professor: "Oh my gosh, I thought it was really wonderful!"

Tiza Garland, a professor at the School of Theater and Dance at the University of Florida described her experience with the Shen Yun performance as, "Oh my gosh, I thought it was really wonderful! I thought it was a great use of ensemble, a really great understanding of what it means to work as a huge unit.

"And you know, something--a unified expression. I thought it was just absolutely wonderful when it came to the movement and expression, and like I said, the unified action through the choreography."

Her companion, Patrick Pagano, a digital media university teacher was very excited about the backdrop, saying, "Oh, the projections and the animation? They were fantastic! It was really nice; it really unified the show. And it was not overdone; it was light-hearted. It really added to the show. Very nice!"

When asked about the choreography, Ms. Garland commented, "Oh, I loved it. I thought, again, the choreography was great. The costumes were wonderful."

Patrick added, "It was fantastic. The color was wonderful and the choreography was great. I thought it was nice and I thought the message was important--that people are trying to revive the spirituality of Falun Dafa. It was very poignant.

"I think it is important when anybody is being deprived of their ability to worship what they want to do. And I think this is a great way to do it."

Ex-professional dancer: "There's no way I can rate this show. There's nothing to compare it with!"

Also in attendance was Dr. David Chalmers, a university professor and his wife, Jean, a former mayor of Gainesville and ex-professional dancer. The couple said that they traveled over 100 miles to see the show.

Mrs. Chalmers said her arts background gave her a keen appreciation of the performance. "I just thought it was wonderful. I'm an old theater person from years ago, so I kind of know the amount of work that goes into this, and it is amazing! Fabulous yes! yes!" she said.

She continued, "I was just amazed at the energy and the technique, and the staging was so impressive.

"That's a very difficult staging presentation to do, and the choreography with the back scenery is pretty unique."

Regarding the 3-D backdrop, she said, "That was fascinating! That was the first time I have seen that and I was just really impressed by how the choreographer could integrate the backdrop scenery with the dancers--smooth as could be; visually exciting," she said.

She concluded by saying, "There's no way I can rate this show. It stands alone. There's nothing to compare it with!"
