(Clearwisdom.net) Master gave us the treasure of looking inwards. Whenever Dafa practitioners encounter any situation, we should all look inwards unconditionally. The Shen Yun shows were sabotaged by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) in Hong Kong. Was this related to practitioners' xinxing? My personal answer is "yes." So what were the loopholes? Master said,
"The old forces don't dare to oppose our clarifying the truth or saving sentient beings. What's key is to not let them take advantage of the gaps in your state of mind when you do things." ("Teaching the Fa at the 2002 Fa Conference in Boston")
When I first heard the news that Shen Yun would perform in Hong Kong, I showed my zealotry. When I heard that the performance was undermined by the CCP, I showed my resentment. Dafa practitioners during the Fa-rectification period should not have either of these mentalities. Master told us,
"An Arhat should be free of attachments, with a heart that cannot be affected." (Zhuan Falun)
Dafa practitioners far exceed the Arhat level, but just do not manifest any supernatural powers in this dimension. We should not look lightly upon any single thought, as each one is very powerful in other dimensions. Master had told us in the Fa that the appearance stems from the mind. When our thoughts do not meet the Fa's standard, the evil will utilize the loophole and generate negative impacts.
Upon reflecting carefully, when I first heard the news that Shen Yun would perform in Hong Kong, not only did I show zealotry, but I also showed a certain competitiveness. I thought about how the CCP had interfered with the Shen Yun performances around the world, but now Shen Yun was going to Hong Kong. "You lost, CCP." Apart from that feeling of happiness, I worried, too. I worried that the CCP would cancel the show. Whether Shen Yun performs in Hong Kong or in China, it is the inevitable result along the Fa rectification process. Practitioners should not let their hearts be moved. It should be a natural thing that Shen Yun performs in Hong Kong and China. However, when we heard the news, why did our hearts move? It is because that we do not believe in Master, Dafa, or practitioners' abilities completely, and we measure strength vs. weakness and success vs. failure with human thoughts.
Why is the persecution still going on in China? Why is the CCP still so rampant? It is also due to practitioners' attachments. Many practitioners are still controlled by the human principle of believing after seeing and think that the CCP is "very strong," so they look down on themselves and put themselves into positions that invite persecution. Evil spirits are behind the CCP. Practitioners are the protectors of the universe and much higher than the CCP evils, which can be crushed by a practitioner's little finger. Why can it persecute practitioners? Because you are afraid of it. When you have fear, you are a human being. It is easy for an evil spirit to persecute a human being. Why are some practitioners safe as they do the three things righteously and openly, but other practitioners that "paid a lot of attention to safety" were persecuted? The appearance stems from the mind. It was because of their attachments.
Many of the practitioners in China saw having Shen Yun perform in Hong Kong with a kind of zealotry and competitive mentality. They worried about the CCP undermining the event. Now that it has happened, our hearts should not be moved. Master told us,
"Once you take up Dafa, whatever it is you encounter--good or bad--it is a good thing, for it came about only because you cultivate in Dafa." ("Teaching the Fa in San Francisco, 2005")
On the surface, the CCP caused the cancellation of the Shen Yun shows in Hong Kong, a bad thing. So we can change that bad thing into a good thing. We can look inwards, improve our xinxing, and eliminate our attachments. At the same time, we can use this incident to clarify the truth to the world and further expose the evil character of the CCP. Through clarifying the truth to the world and the people of Hong Kong, the dream that the CCP is improving will be given up and abandoned, and they will choose their own futures.
As practitioners, we should seize this opportunity to improve ourselves, look inwards to dig out our attachments, and improve in the Fa. Let's follow Master's requirements, do more and better Fa study, and do the three things well. We should use the Hong Kong incident as an opportunity to clarify the truth. Let's do things actively, send forth righteous thoughts, truly cooperate as part of the whole body, and reach a state of harmony and selflessness.
