Shen Yun's first show for 2010 in Asia in South Korea's historical capital of Suwon

This is Shen Yun's fourth visit to South Korea. In the past few years, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has repeatedly interfered with Shen Yun's performances in South Korea.

This year the CCP again resorted to the tactic of attempting to stop almost every theater from signing a contract with Shen Yun.

However, the Korean people love traditional Chinese culture and enthusiastically welcomed Shen Yun to perform 11 shows in South Korea. The first show was a success, and many local prominent citizens, including officials and artists, were in attendance. Audience members applauded and cheered to express their appreciation for Shen Yun's beautiful and stunning performance. Some of them were moved to tears by messages conveyed in the show.

Kim Sun Won, a Korean calligrapher, sent a welcome message to Shen Yun that said: "To have such a beautiful performance in the very early spring will signify peace and prosperity for the Korean people."

Gyeonggi Arts Center's Grand Theater in Suwon

As the curtain opened in the prestigious Gyeonggi Arts Center's Grand Theater in Suwon at 7:30 p.m. on February 17, the stage turned into a dazzling and glorious heavenly paradise. After the first program ended, one audience member who initially was seated in the balcony immediately went to the ticket counter and paid extra money to switch to the first floor. He told the cashier that he and his wife, who is a Chinese, were so enthralled by the performance that they decided to switch to good seats to get a better view.

Ms. Li, a Chinese dance teacher for 10 years, was impressed by the performers' artistic presentation and technical skills, the latter in particular. She said, "I'm a dancer, so I know it is not easy for Shen Yun dancers to have such seamless coordination."

She commented that each program was very good and she would definitely come back and bring friends with her to see the show.
