(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Dai Jinheng is a Falun Gong practitioner from Yi County, Hebei Province. She has been steadfast in her belief and subjected to persecution many times. In July 2002, she went to Beijing to appeal, where she was arrested and detained at the Xicheng Detention Center. Later she was sent to the Gaoyang Forced Labor Camp in Hebei Province. She suffered brutal force-feeding there, and continued being harassed by local police after coming back home.
1. Suffering persecution in Baoding City
When the CCP started to persecute Falun Gong on July 20, 1999, Ms. Dai Jinheng went to the Baoding City Appeals Office to appeal. She was beaten and forced to give her name and address. She was sent to a hotel in the eastern suburbs where many practitioners from Baoding City were sent because of appealing for Falun Gong. Later, she was sent back to Yi County and was detained at a school for a day and a night. She was extorted out of 200 yuan by the Yizhou Town police and forced to write a "guarantee statement." Then she was fired from her work unit.
2. Suffering at Xicheng Detention Center in Beijing
In July 2002, she went to Tiananmen Square in Beijing to appeal. She was arrested and detained at the Xicheng Detention Center. She started a hunger strike and refused to tell her name and her home address.
At the detention center, the guards, including Ma Sunhua and Liu XX, and the inmates often beat and cursed her. She was forced to wear handcuffs and shackles. Because the handcuffs and shackles were chained together, she could only walk in a squatting position and was unable to stand upright. The guards would grab her arms to drag her away to be subjected to force-feeding. The guards would drag her body along on the concrete floor for several hundred meters, causing her legs and feet to bleed. Along the way, Ma Sunhua even kept kicking her. Several male guards tied her to a bed and held down her hands and feet. The tube for force-feeding was inserted into her stomach through her nose. They beat and scolded her during the process and even took the tube in and out to increase her suffering. Liu XX was not a doctor but a guard, however she was in charge of inserting the feeding tubes. She enjoyed torturing the practitioners and said that it would be the practitioner's fault if one died because the tube was inserted into her lung. Ms. Dai was cuffed onto the same bed with another practitioner on hunger strike. Their heads would be placed at the both ends of the bed, separately, and their hands were cuffed to the bed rails. They were not allowed to go to the restroom after being given an infusion, which often made them expel urine in the bed. When she tried to tell a guard about Falun Gong, he soaked a tower in her urine and smeared it over her mouth.
The practitioners at the Xicheng Detention Center were often subjected to a trial there and given a jail term or a forced labor term, and sent directly to jails and forced labor camps.
3. Suffering at the Gaoyang Forced Labor Camp
Ms. Dai Jinheng was detained at the Xicheng Detention Center for over a month, during which time she held a hunger strike. Then she was sent to the Gaoyang Forced Labor Camp in Hebei Province. She continued the hunger strike and refused to tell her name and home address. She was continuously tortured. The people involved in her case included the division head, Yang Zemin, guards Ye Shuxian, Fang Bao and Niu Lijun, Doctor Bai and Doctor Ma.
Practitioners were detained separately in different cells where they were not allowed to meet other practitioners. Every practitioner was watched by four criminals and they were not allowed to practice the exercises or study the Fa.
When being force-fed, the prison doctors Bai and Ma, and the inmate Li Shujuan often cursed her and slapped her face. They grabbed her by the hair and her limbs while inserting the thick tube into her nose to subject her to force-feeding. Sometimes they would pour hot liquid through the tube causing her stomach great pain. Suffering long term force-feeding damaged her stomach and nose. Everyday she vomited bloody pus, especially at night while she was sleeping. When she woke up, her mouth was often full of bloody pus.
Once, division head Yang Zemin led several guards to beat her. They kicked and punched her and shocked her with electric batons. She was dragged from the bed to the ground. They pulled her hair and shocked her feet and hands. At that time, Dai Jinheng had been on a hunger strike for three months. While being tortured this way she almost lost consciousness.
She was surrounded by a group of collaborators who tried to confuse her with their evil heresy both day and night, even during meals. Several guards would shock a practitioner at the same time with several electric batons, which caused their bodies to be covered with bruises. At midnight, the guards might suddenly come into the cell to threaten and beat the practitioners. Some were taken outside. While the guards sat around the fire wearing warm jackets, the practitioners were stripped down to only thin clothes and made to suffer the cold during the winter nights.
Once, when Ms. Dai had been on a hunger strike for five months, Ye Shuxian, doctor Ma and several guards came to torture her. They shoved her socks into her mouth to prevent her from crying out and shocked her with several electric batons on the mouth, hands and feet. Wherever the batons touched, her skin became all swollen and festered. One of them viciously kicked her and cuffed her hands, fastening them to each side of a bed board.
4. Suffering at Jizhou Town Police Station in Yi County
While being tortured Ms. Dai had been forced to tell her name and address. She was taken home by her father and police from the local police station. The head of the police station, Zhang Cunge, ordered her father to take her to the police station the next day because she had not been "transformed," otherwise she would be detained again. Her father was forced to pay 300 yuan to pay for transportation. To avoid being mistreated again, Ms. Dai left home.
After visiting a practitioner's home one day in August 2005, she was followed by police from Baoding City Domestic Security Division. They traced her to another practitioner's home and were going to arrest her. Trying to escape more torture, she jumped from the third floor of the building and was injured. She was detained at the Hebei Police Department Detention Center in Shijiazhuang City for more than one month. Her family members have been harassed, threatened and extorted by police many times and even her father was afraid to have her stay with him. She was taken home after being detained 10 days longer than the term.
5. Refusing to provide information to police
The head of the Baoding City Domestic Security Division Feng Yong and Wang Hongen tried to force Dai Jinheng to provide the information they wanted. Ms. Dai firmly refused.
Ms. Dai's family members have been threatened and fined many times by local police and police from Yi County, led by Tian Guojun, the head of the Yi County Domestic Security Division, as well as Tian Guojun and Zhang Cunge, the head of Yizhou Town Police Station. Their homes were searched and personal property confiscated. In 2002, Ms. Dai's brother, Dai Qi, spent more than 3000 yuan on a brand new TV, which was taken away during a home search and was being used by police at the local police station. Ms. Dai's father did farm work and repaired appliances for a living. Much of his personal property, including PCs, satellite dishes and cell phones, was taken away. The home phone line was also cut off.
When Ms. Dai left home in 2002, the head of the police station, Zhang Cunge, kept searching for her. Her younger sister Dai Jinhua and her father were implicated and arrested. While being detained at the local police station they were cuffed with both hands to a heating pipe for an entire day and night. Her second elder brother and the brother-in-law were called back from out of town and interrogated for her whereabouts. One of her relatives was arrested just because of a telephone call.
Once, more than 10 local policemen climbed over the wall around her home and searched within. Her family members' cell phones were being tapped. At one point when they found there were calls coming from Baoding City or other places, they would threaten the family members to pressure them into telling who made the calls. Tian Guojun and Zhang Cunge would harass the family members during holidays or the farm seasons.
