(Clearwisdom.net) Mr. Zhang from Zhao County, Hebei Province, is 85 years old. He joined the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) in 1945, and his mind was deeply poisoned by the its lies and propaganda. Mr. Zhang suddenly fell ill in late 1999. He suffered from severe pain in his lower back and legs after waking up one morning and was almost unable to walk. His children took him to a hospital. The doctor diagnosed him with an osteophyte (bone spur) and told him to return home to have a good rest, because the doctor did not dare to perform surgery due to his advanced age.

Mr. Zhang returned home in unbearable pain. His children could not bear to see their father suffer and sought everywhere for medicine to relieve his pain. Eight months passed, and they had tried everything--folk prescriptions, Chinese medicine, Western medicine, and imported drugs--but the pain did not abate. In fact it became even more severe. Mr. Zhang was almost unable to take care of himself, and he groaned in pain all day long.

Mr. Zhang's daughter is a Falun Gong practitioner and used to ask her father to practice Falun Gong. He saw the propaganda about Falun Gong on TV, however, and was afraid to give it a try. Some time later, after an eight-month treatment did not improve his condition, he silently agreed when his daughter asked him to watch Master's Fa lectures. After watching only one tape of Master's Fa-teaching in Guangzhou, he no longer felt pain in the evening. Mr. Zhang truly believed that the practice was able to cure his illness, and he regained hope. Thus, he listened to Master's Fa-teaching daily. His daughter and two other practitioners also taught him to do the exercises. He learned them carefully, and within five days, Master had removed his illness. He was able to turn and lie flat on the evening of the fourth day, after he had done the exercises.

Mr. Zhang was engrossed in studying the Fa and doing the exercises. He completely recovered in less than a month. His niece suffered from high blood pressure and heart problems and had taken medicine for many years. She was unable to control her symptoms even after taking medication and injections. She visited her uncle, Mr. Zhang, and learned about Falun Gong. He told her, "No matter what others say about how good other practices are, we have not seen them, but Falun Gong enables us to feel well. I practiced only a short time before my illness disappeared." Under his influence, his niece also listened to Master's Fa teachings and set herself free from the plague of her illnesses.

Mr. Zhang had a physical examination last year, and all indicators were normal. His heart, liver, and lungs were found to be as good as those of someone in his 50s or 60s. Mr. Zhang often listens to Master's Fa teachings and has replaced four audio tape recorders. Whenever people talk about being protected by Gods and Buddhas, Mr. Zhang always exclaimes, "Gods and Buddhas truly exist!" He has also renounced the Party and often says, "I owe my survival today to Falun Dafa. I'm truly grateful to Master."
