Politicians in Taiwan's Southern City of Kaohsiung Are Amazed by Shen Yun (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) Kaohsiung City Mayor Chen Chu said, "Kaohsiung City sincerely welcomes Shen Yun Performing Arts to bring a spectacular feast of arts and culture to the residents of our city."

Mayor Chen Chu was all too happy to welcome Shen Yun to Taiwan's second largest city. She had much to say about the show. "Every program is very unique and very wonderful, and the fascinating momentum fully xcaptured the attention of the entire audience."

She was especially fond of the many different Chinese ethnic groups that were represented in Shen Yun's performances. "We could see the dances of different minority ethnic groups, featuring diverse cultural traits, such as Mongolian, Tibetan, and those from the Northwest Plateau in China. After attending this exquisite and spectacular performing arts show, I can say t hat their performance was indeed exceptionally wonderful," she added.

Fascinated by the dances, she had high praise for the dancers themselves. "I noticed that there were many young artists and dancers in the company. Their movements were so beautiful and so quick, highlighting female gracefulness and elegance as well as male masculinity and strength. It was evident that they have undergone a lot of intense and professional training.

"Multi-cultural performances like this are always welcome to perform in Kaohsiung. Shen Yun's dances fully illustrated the difficulties that Falun Gong has encountered in China. Through dance, we could fully understand their plight.

"Kaohsiung is metropolitan city that attaches much importance to human rights and is devoted to the protection of human rights and the respect for diverse cultures, so Shen Yun and Falun Gong can fully enjoy freedom of expression here," she continued.

In conclusion, Ms. Chen emphasized that the value of art lies in the fact that it transcends belief, race, territory, and political party, ushering in a realm of beauty for humanity.

US Diplomat: "It Is Truly Wonderful"

Mr. Chris Castro is the chief of the American Institute in Taiwan (AIT), Kaohsiung Branch Office. The AIT servers as a de facto embassy for Americans.

"This is the third time I've seen Shen Yun Performing Arts. I indeed enjoy the show every year, and think it is truly wonderful," exclaimed Mr. Castro

"All the performances were really excellent!" He told reporters that he had brought many of his coworkers with him to see the show this time, and they were astounded by the beauty of Shen Yun. "I was really touched by the exquisite performance of so many young performers from the United Sates. My AIT colleagues feel the same way."

Mr. Castro loves traditional Chinese culture, and his final comment reflected his admiration: "This spectacular performance featuring the profound traditional Chinese culture was really remarkable. I liked it very much."
