(Clearwisdom.net) Baimalong Women's Forced Labor Camp is deeply involved in persecuting Falun Gong practitioners in Hunan Province. Guards at the forced labor camp torture practitioners using various methods, including brainwashing, forced-feedings, drug injections, etc. As a result, many practitioners have died, or become physically disabled or mentally disordered.
A practitioner from Yuyang City lost her memory and could only do simple tasks and speak simple sentences after being released from the labor camp. When asked about what happened in the labor camp, she shook her head with terrified horror. Shortly after, she became mentally disoriented and died.
Another practitioner in Junshang District was arrested in April 2000, after she put up eight posters with "Falun Dafa is Good" written on them. She was sent to Baimalong Women's Forced Labor Camp where she went on a hunger strike for 18 days. She was subjected to brainwashing and force-feeding, and was injected with harmful drugs. She was released in late April 2001. She was initially able to manage some simple tasks, but three months later she regressed into a vegetative state and lost her ability to handle even the most basic living needs such as eating, drinking, and her bodily functions. This situation lasted for seven years. It wasn't until 2008 that she resumed the ability to take care of herself. Her memory however, was lost forever.
The torture techniques used at the Baimalong Women's Forced Labor Camp nowadays are even more sinister, crafty and deceptive. Newly-arrested practitioners are put in fully enclosed rooms, monitored by four or five prisoners around the clock. (To avoid being identified and exposed, the assigned prisoners use codes instead of real names.) Practitioners are forced to watch videos and read books that slander Dafa and Master. Exercises and Fa study are strictly forbidden. The prisoners first use hypocrisies to deceive the practitioners, and then savage beatings, sleep deprivation, and other brutal torture to force practitioners to be "transformed."
One practitioner lost two front teeth as a result of beatings, and one sustained a fracture to her hand and became mentally unstable. A college student became so mentally traumatized that she didn't even care whether she wore clothes. Another was caught doing the meditation exercise at night and was imprisoned in solitary confinement for two days. She was found to be mentally traumatized upon release from the two-day imprisonment.
Forced labor is another means of persecution. Practitioners are forced to work more than 12 hours per day with no breaks in the interim until the quota is fulfilled. In addition, they are forced to work overtime. Elderly practitioners in their sixties who have eyesight problems are not exempt. If they fail to fulfill the quota, they are deprived of the right to use the bathroom or to purchase daily necessities. For instance, an elderly female practitioner could not answer roll call loudly enough, due to speech deprivation. She was punished by being forced to stand for long periods of time, the tiger bench torture, bathroom deprivation, and confinement.
One practitioner who was sent to the forced labor camp on July 10, 2009, was in perfect health prior to the persecution. Afterward, her blood pressure rose to 200 (low blood pressure is 105). She now has heart disease, diabetes and cholecystitis. Her weight fell from 138 kg to 100 kg. Almost a quarter of her hair turned gray.
