(Clearwisdom.net) When my daughter was an infant, she liked to listen to Teacher's lectures, which I often played for her. I also took her with me to attend group Fa-study before the persecution began in 1999. She was a very good child. Later on, I became busy with work, family and cultivation. As a result, I gradually stopped paying enough attention to her.
As she got older, she began to suffer from allergies. Whenever the season changed from spring to summer, her eyes would swell and hurt. She could barely open them. Her lower eyelids would also ulcerate when she rubbed her eyes. I didn't know what to do. I told her to recite "Falun Dafa is good" and read Zhuan Falun to her. However, there was no change in her condition. My husband, who doesn't practice Falun Dafa, took her to many doctors. Still, her condition worsened.
I bitterly pondered the situation and didn't know what I had done wrong. I tried to eliminate my sentimentality and not be moved when I saw her in pain. I knew that only Teacher and the Fa could free her from her tribulation.
Through studying and memorizing the Fa, I was enlightened and found many of my problems. I didn't encourage her to study the Fa. Instead, I sometimes read the Fa to her before bedtime. As a result, she wasn't able to listen much before she fell asleep. She rarely did the exercises. I realized that a teenager was old enough to progress diligently in cultivation. I didn't do my duty to help her become a practitioner. Children have limited self-control and need supervision and encouragement from adults.
I began to send forth righteous thoughts to eliminate interference that prevented young practitioners from studying the Fa and doing the exercises. I also sent righteous thoughts to eliminate the old forces' persecution of my daughter. I shared my thoughts with her based on the Fa and took her to group study. I treated her like a practitioner. Instead of reading the Fa to her, I had her study the Fa, do the exercises, and progress with me.
My daughter's allergies eventually disappeared. I was amazed at how fast she enlightened to the Fa principles. She often corrected me when I was not in a righteous state. She progressed so diligently that she doesn't look like a child to me anymore.
While we try to do the three things well, we must not ignore our little practitioners. They are lives that came to learn the Fa too.
