(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 16 cities or counties in 10 provinces. In this report, 9 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention and at least 18 practitioners were illegally arrested.
1. [Gangu County, Gansu Province] Mr. Niu Ruiyi and Ms. Mao Xiulan Facing Illegal Trial
Mr. Niu Ruiyi lives in Qijiazhuang, Xinxing Town, Gangu County. Ms. Mao Xiulan lives in Xinzhuang, Dashi Village, Dashi Township, Gangu County. The two practitioners were taken away from their homes by officers from the Gangu Police Department, on January 21 and January 28, 2010 respectively. They have been detained in the Gangu Detention Center and the police department has submitted the so-called cases to the procuratorates. The two practitioners are now facing an illegal trial.

2. [Baoji City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Yuan Jing Persecuted
On the evening of March 11, 2010, Ms. Yuan Jing was followed and arrested while she was distributing Falun Gong materials at the farmers' market near Dazhuanpan, Shibahe, Baoji City.
3. [Dehui City, Jilin Province] Ms. Jiang Yaqin Arrested
Ms. Jiang Yaqin was arrested by officers from the Chalukou Town Police Station and detained in the Dehui Detention Center for 15 days. Her family was extorted out of 10,000 yuan. She has since been released.
4. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhou Yandong Arrested
Ms. Zhou Yandong from Shuangyang District, was reported on and then arrested while she was talking to personnel of the Shuangyang District 610 Office about Falun Gong on March 20, 2010.

5. [Pingdu City, Shandong Province] Officers from the Chengguan Police Station Brutally Beat Ms. Ji Xiufang
At 9:00 a.m. on January 23, 2010, Ms. Ji Xiufang was reported on and arrested while she was talking to a young man about Falun Gong on the way to the Jiangjiatuan Market for shopping. She was taken to the Chengguan Police Station.
The police handcuffed Ms. Ji onto a chair. One police officer grabbed her bag and keys. Because she did not cooperate during their interrogation, the policemen hit her face and kicked her nose. One policeman grabbed her hair and banged her head against an iron chair. Her face and mouth were covered with blood.
By 4:00 p.m., her family had just found her in the Chengguan Police Office. She was not released until her husband was extorted out of about 15,000 yuan.
6. [Shaoyang City, Hunan Province] The Xinshao County Police Department Ransacks an Elderly Man's Home
Four officers from the Xinshao Police Department in Shaoyang City, broke into the home of 82-year -old Mr. Long Zhongcai on March 4, 2010, and took away Falun Dafa books, pictures of Master Li Hongzhi, exercise cassettes, copies of Minghui Weekly, and other Falun Gong materials.
In 2009, in order to avoid being arrested at home, Mr. Long Zhongcai went to the Baoxin Temple in Xintianpu, Xinshao County. Six officers from the Xinshao Police Department surrounded and threatened him. They took away pictures of Master Li, a copy of Zhuan Falun and other Falun Dafa books.

7. [Nanning City, Guangxi Province] Mr. Li Chaoren Detained
In early February 2010, Mr. Li Chaoren from Huning County, was followed and arrested while he was distributing Falun Gong materials and talking to people about Falun Gong. Now he is being detained in the Nanning Detention Center.
8. [Xinxiang City, Henan Province] Ms. Lu Junyu Arrested
On the morning of March 16, 2010, Ms. Lu Junyu was arrested by officers from the Hongqi Police Department in Xinxiang City. She is being detained in the Developing District Detention Center.
9. [Heilongjiang Province] Two Recent Persecution Cases in the Heilongjiang Provincial Women's Prison
On January 18, 2010, guards Liu Wanyu and Li Yan, from the First Division of the Heilongjiang Provincial Women's Prison, persecuted Ms. Gao Guobo, who started to practice Falun Gong in prison. The guards searched her bed while claiming to be "cleaning cells" and confiscated about thirty hand-written copies of Falun Dafa books. Guard Yu Hongbo ordered inmate Wang Xiaodong to beat and kick Ms. Sun Fenghua and pull her hair.
On January 21, 2010, a guard in the First Division ordered about 20 inmates to brutally force-feed Falun Dafa practitioners who were holding a hunger strike.
In addition, Ms. Hu Aiyun from Harbin City, has been on a hunger strike for more than two years. She is very weak. The guard added a drug (654-2) while force-feeding her. After being forced-fed, Ms. Hu's hands and feet shook.
10. [Wuchang City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Guan Yunhua Arrested
Xuan Lizhi and Li Hongyu, from the Lalin Police Station, broke into the home of Ms. Guan Yunhua in Xihuangqi Village, Lalin Town at 10:00 a.m. on March 21, 2010. Ms. Guan was arrested and taken to Wuchang City.

12. [Jingmen City, Hubei Province] Ms. Chen Hua Arrested
Ms. Chen Hua works in the Jingmen Petrochemical Company in Hubei Province. On March 14, 2010, she was arrested by Xiang Jun and Sun Dehong from the Yuelianghu Police Department, and Zhang Jinbo from the Security Section of the Jingmen Petrochemical Company while she was working on a night shift. She was later sent to the Wuhan Brainwashing Center.

14. [Beijing City] Ms. Liu Xinru Taken to the Fengtai Detention Center in July 2009
15. [Huludao City, Liaoning Province] The Lianshan District Court Secretly Sentences Ms. Wang Lijuan
Ms. Wang Lijuan was forcibly put in handcuffs and shackles and taken to the Lianshan District Court at 1:00 p.m. on March 12, 2010. On March 16, Ms. Wang received the sentence document. She was sentenced to five years in prison.
16. [Xinji City, Hebei Province] Mr. Wang Jingyun Arrested
Mr. Wang Jingyun, who is in his thirties, lives in the Jincheng Residential Area, Xinji City, Hebei Province. On the afternoon of March 20, 2010, he was arrested by plainclothes officers from the Yuhongjie Police Station while he was distributing Shen Yun DVDs.

17. [Yishui County, Shandong Province] Yishui Police Department Conducts Mass Arrests of Falun Dafa Practitioners
Zhang Danong had just become director of the Yishui Police Department this year. Soon after, the police department began mass arrests of Falun Dafa practitioners.
On February 21, 2010, Ms. Ma Yuanxia, from Xujiahu, was taken to the Linyi Detention Center. She has now been transferred to the Linyi Brainwashing Center.
On March 16, 2010, officers from the Comprehensive Office, the police station, the Domestic Security Team, and the 610 Office in Yaodianzi Town, Yishui County, arrested Ms. Liu Benfen, Mr. Xia Chengyin and Ms. Liu Runhua in Wujiazhuang Village, Yaodianzi Town. Mr. Xia Chengyin was released on March 19, 2010.
On March 20, 2010, Mr. Zhao Kegui from Baijiaping Village, Yishui Town, was arrested by officers from the Domestic Security Team and his home was ransacked.

Mr. Zhuang Gangxiang, from Daqing City, was arrested in Handan City, Hebei Province. He is now being detained in Daqing.
