(Clearwisdom.net) The audience at the Big Top Theatre in Sydney, Australia was delighted by Shen Yun's performance on May 11, 2010. In particular, professionals in the fields of opera and fashion were impressed by the artistry and skill that they experienced.

Ms. Robertson came to see Shen Yun with Laurence Gervis, a project manager

Ms. Alex Robertson, an opera singer and trainer to performers of the Australian Opera, was particularly impressed by the singers. "They were incredible ... very centered, very expressive and passionate," she said. "The Shen Yun singers were exceptional beyond technique." Then she added, "You know they are God given ... that talent."

"They all give a message. They all tend to have a lot of inner peace and I think that they express that. I think a lot of people, especially people around us, were very touched. You can feel people's reactions." She took specific notice of Hong Ming, the tenor in Shen Yun, saying: "I have to say, I was most impressed with the tenor, he was incredible. I'd like to hear more of him. I haven't heard him out here but it would be nice to." She concluded, "We don't usually get this sort of thing out here in Australia so it's lovely to be able to embrace it."

Fashion Icon Akira Isogawa

Akira Isogawa, one of Australia's most celebrated fashion designers, was also in attendance."I liked the show very much," he said.

Known for his beautiful, very feminine style, Akira said that as a designer of "ladies wear" his expertise was very different than designing for the theatre. However, the Japanese born Australian fashion icon has also designed costumes for The Sydney Dance Company and for the players in the Australian Chamber Orchestra, so he has a good understanding of what is involved. He thought that the Shen Yun costumes were impressive in being beautiful to watch while allowing ease of movement.

"The movement was great to watch ... to be able to move so beautifully," he said. He noted how the costumes enhanced the movement of the performance as a whole, saying the effect of that "worked really well." Shen Yun, he noticed had also transcended the mere surface referring to Flowing Silk, a dance involving long silken sleeves, in which the dancers move slowly and gracefully like ribbons rippling in the breeze. The effect seemed to him like "breathing with the movement."
