(Clearwisdom.net) Today's news from China includes reports of incidents of persecution that took place in 19 cities or counties in 11 provinces. According to this report, 26 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 14 practitioners were illegally arrested.
1. [Tongliao City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region] Ms. Ji Liping's Family Harassed
Personnel from the Qingzhen No. 3 Neighborhood Committee harassed Ms. Ji Liping's family the afternoon of May 7, 2010. They attempted to have Ms. Ji's husband sign a blank form.
2. [Lianyungang, Jiangsu Province] Mr. Zhu Chao Held in Custody
Mr. Zhu Chao from Lianyungang City was arrested on April 25, 2010. He is now being held in the Xinpu District Detention Center.

3. [Kunming, Yunnan Province] Ms. Zhang Meilan and Two Other Practitioners Await Trial
Kunming City Intermediate Court officials had scheduled a trial on May 24, 2010 for Ms. Zhang Meilan, Ms. Liu Rong and Ms. Peng Sufen from the Dongchuan District.
Officers from the Dongchuan District Domestic Security Division searched the homes of more than a dozen practitioners, including the above-mentioned practitioners, between October and November 2009. They held Ms. Liu Rong in the Mushulang Detention Center for 17 days. Dongchuan District Procuratorate officials have allowed the three practitioners to be bailed out and await trial.
Kunming City Intermediate Court officials summoned Ms. Zhang Meilan to the court for interrogation on March 2, 2010. The intermediate court officials sent officers to the Dongchuan District Procuratorate that same day and summoned Ms. Liu Rong and Ms. Peng Sufen to the Procuratorate to be interrogated.
Ms. Zhang, in her 70s, retired from the Luoxue Mine in Dongchuan. Ms. Liu Rong, in her 30s, has a handicapped right hand. Ms. Peng Sufen is in her 70s.

4. [Qingyuan, Guangdong Province] Qingyuan City Telecommunications Bureau Officials Withhold Employee's Bonus for Having Falun Gong Poster
Qingyuan City Telecommunications Bureau officials visited their employees at the end of 2009 and delivered year-end bonuses. When the officials saw "Falun Dafa is good" posted on the door of Ms. Huang Qiumei's home, they withheld 300 yuan of her bonus.
5. [Luchuan, Guangxi Autonomous Region] Luchuan County Education Bureau Officials Persecute Practitioners
Two teachers from the No.1 Elementary School and from the Junior High School affiliated with the Luchuan County Education Bureau were taken to the Luchuan County Brainwashing Center on May 17, 2010. Luchuan County No.1 Elementary School teacher Mr. Liu Xin and Ms. Zhang Cuiyan, a teacher from the Luchuan County Junior High School, were also taken to the brainwashing center.

6. [Guangzhou, Guangdong Province] Ms. Yuan Lini and Others Arrested
Ms. Yuan Lini and a practitioner surnamed Gu were arrested on May 12, 2010 as they spoke with people about Falun Gong in the Tianhe District. Participating in the arrest were officers from the Tianhe District Domestic Security Bureau. The two practitioners are now in the Tangxia Detention Center in the Tianhe District.
Ms. Yuan is originally from Huangmei, Hubei Province and worked in Guangzhou after following her college graduation. Ms. Gu is from Chongqing.
7. [Shanghai] Mr. Yu Xiangdong Released from Prison
Mr. Yu Xiangdong was held in the Qingpu Prison for three years. He was released in early May, 2010.
8. [Chongqing] Ms. Fu Xinbi Arrested
Ms. Fu Xinbi from the Shapingba District was arrested at 11:00 am on May 17, 2010 at Shanxia Square. Officers from the Shapingba Police Department made the arrest. Her whereabouts are unknown.

10. [Hebei Province] Hebei Normal University Officials Persecute Ms. Xi Shujun and Others
Ms. Xi Shujun is a teacher in the Education Institute of the Hebei Normal University. University officials dismissed her from her position two years ago because she had told her students the facts about Falun Gong in class in 2007. The Education Institute officials recently forbade her to teach in class. Instead, they assigned her to work in the reference materials office.
University officials have persecuted Falun Gong practitioners at the university numerous times. Mr. Fu Huajing, associate professor in the Chemistry Institute, was fired from his job. He later died as a result of the persecution. Ms. Zhang Lishan, an employee from the Physics Institute and Ms. Deng Meizhen, working for the Public Management Institute, and Dr. Wang Guoxin, working for the Education Institute, were fired from their jobs.

11. [Shijiazhuang, Hebei Province] Mr. Zhao Xinhua Arrested
The Xinshi Police Station head went to Mr. Zhao Xinhua's home in Xishanjiao Village at 6:30 pm on May 12, 2010, under the guise of inquiring about renting a house. As soon as he confirmed Mr. Zhao's identity, he ordered two plainclothes police officers to handcuff him. Mr. Zhao refused to comply. His wrists were bruised, and his left arm and shoulder were injured when the officers tried to forcibly handcuff him. He was able to escape, however. The police confiscated his Falun Gong books, his child's computer, a copier and paper-cutting knife, and other items.

12. [Heilongjiang Province] Update on Mr. Liu Liqiang's Situation in the Tailai Prison
Yang Lichun, an officer from the Education and Reform Section in the Tailai Prison, placed Mr. Liu Liqiang in solitary confinement for more than 20 days. Mr. Liu was affixed to a metal ring on the ground. He was not released for any reason, including for meals or relieving himself.
13. [Chengdu, Sichuan Province] Ms. Li Yongxiu's Home Ransacked
Three men and one woman from Factory 5701 broke into Ms. Li Yongxiu's home on May 14, 2010, under the guise of checking wires. They saw a computer and a printer and reported what they saw to Power Department head Zhang Huanzhi. Dong Yongxi, the factory's Security Department head, arrived with a photographer, officers from the Chujin Police Station and personnel from the street residential office. They searched Ms. Li's home and confiscated a computer, a printer and other items. The police beat Ms. Li and took her and her son to the Chujin Police Station. Ms. Li's non-practitioner son was released that same night. Ms. Li has also been released.
14. [Muping, Shandong Province] Mr. Zhao Shanle Arrested
Mr. Zhao Shanle spoke with three police officers about Falun Gong at the Muping Bus Company at 9:00 am on May 17, 2010. He was subsequently taken to a local police station and his home was ransacked. They took him to a detention center at 3:30 pm that same day.
15. [Dongying, Shandong Province] Ms. Li Benying Arrested
Ms. Li Benying, in her 50s, lives in the family compound affiliated with the Petroleum University in Dongying. She was arrested the afternoon of May 15, 2010 as she spoke with people about Falun Gong in the Kangcheng Residential area in Xindu. Her home was ransacked, and she is now being held in the Binhai Police Department's detention center.

16. [Donggang City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Shao Jun and Three Other Practitioners Await Trial
Dandong City Political and Judiciary Committee officials collaborated with officers from the Donggang Political and Judiciary Committee and from the Donggang Police Department at the end of December 2009. They arrested many practitioners. The practitioners' cases were transferred from the Donggang Procuratorate to the Donggang Court. The following four practitioners are awaiting trial: Mr. Shao Jun, Ms. Wang Fuhua, Mr. Wang Chunhua and Mr. Zou Jiling.

17. [Huai'an County, Hebei Province] Mr. Wu Xiaofei Arrested
Mr. Wu Xiaofei, 26, lives in Shanqitun Village, Huai'an County, Zhangjiakou City. Three officers from the Qiaodong Police Station in Shijiazhuang City arrested him at 6:00 pm on May 12, 2010. They confiscated his laptop computer. Mr. Wu is now in the Shijiazhuang City No.1 Detention Center.
18. [Hebei Province] Ms. Wang Sufang Avoids Arrest
Ms. Wang Sufang is a teacher at the Weichang County No. 2 Middle School. The school principal and local police took her into custody numerous times for practicing Falun Gong. The most recent attempted arrest happened because the principal slandered Falun Gong at a school workers' meeting. Ms. Wang stood up and said, "Please, do not slander Dafa. Dafa teaches people to cultivate according to Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, and to be good people!" The principal and Domestic Security Division officers Song Jingbo and Zhang Lixin tried to arrest Ms. Wang, but she was able to escape.

Seven officers from the Changhai County 610 Office and from the county's Domestic Security Division arrested Ms. Tao Shuwen from home in Changhai County on May 10, 2010. They confiscated a computer, a printer, Falun Dafa informational banners and materials. They took Ms. Tao to the Yaojia Detention Center that same day.

Four practitioners, including Mr. Chen Xi and Ms. Wang Guilan, are being held in the Zhangshi Forced Labor Camp.

Ms. Wu Qinghua, 50, was previously subjected to one year of forced labor in 2005. She was often harassed since her release. Zhang Linyang, the Jiefang Road Police Station head, and several police officers arrested her in the morning of May 13, 2010. Ms. Wu is now in the Fuyang Detention Center.
