(Clearwisdom.net) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 17 cities or counties in 19 provinces. In this report, 22 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention and at least 27 practitioners were illegally arrested.
1. [Qingan County, Heilongjiang Province] Elderly Practitioner Beaten and Arrested
Ms. Ren Yulan, 80, from Qingan County spoke with people about Falun Gong on the morning of June 9, 2010. in Yangyupo Village, Jianmin Township. A man in his 20s beat her and injured her left eye, right arm, and face. Her left eye socket was bruised, and her nose bled. The same man reported Ms. Ren to the Jianmin Township Police Station. Two of the station's officers took Ms. Ren and two other elderly practitioners to the station. They transferred the three practitioners to the county's 610 Office later on. The practitioners have returned home.

2. [Gaobeidian, Hebei Province] Practitioners Arrested and Harassed
Manipulated by Baoding City 610 Office agents, Gaobeidian police recently arrested and harassed many Falun Gong practitioners.
Sixteen officers from the Gaobeidian City Domestic Security Division, from the Beicheng Police Station, and from the Baoding City Domestic Security Division broke into Mr. Wang Tieqiang's restaurant around 5:00 p.m. on June 12, 2010. Four plainclothes police officers instructed the rest of the officers to pry the doors open to more than a dozen downstairs and upstairs rooms and ransacked them. The police also drove away all customers who were eating at the restaurant. The persecutors confiscated much personal property from Mr. Wang's home. He was taken to the Beicheng Police Station and transferred to a detention center on June 13.
We have learned that the arrested practitioners were: Mr. Hu Zhenchun, Ms. Zhang Yuqin, Ms. Liu Fengying (has returned home), Ms. Xiao Weiling, Ms. Zhao Lanying, Mr. Zhang Bianrong, Mr. Wang Tieqiang, and Ms. Zhang Chunfang. Three practitioners were harassed and intimidated. They were Ms. Tian Hongmei, Ms. Wang Huanling, and Ms. Wang Shumin from Zhouzhou City. Many other practitioners were harassed.

3. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Additional Information Regarding the Persecution of Mr. Wang Xiaohong and Ms. Wang Qiyan
Ms. Wang Xiaohong and Ms. Wang Qiyan from the Jiangxia District went job-hunting in Wulijie Town on May 31, 2010. They spoke with people about Falun Gong. Officers from the Wulijie Town Police Station arrested them. According to an officer from the Jinkou Street Police Station, Ms. Wang Qiyan is being held in the Wuhan City No.1 Detention Center, and Ms. Wang Xiaohong is in the Jiangxia District Detention Center.

4. [Longchang, Sichuan Province] Mr. Ye Jianguo Threatened and Intimidated
Longchang Maintaining Stability Office head Lai and Yang Conglin often threatened and intimidated Mr. Ye Jianguo, 55, by claiming that he would send Mr. Ye to the Neijiang Brainwashing Center for three months.
Mr. Ye lost his job resulting from the persecution of Falun Gong and works part time to survive. His wife suffers from mental problems, and his younger daughter is in high school. Mr. Ye was arrested in 2006 and later sentenced to five years in prison but served his term outside the prison. Mr. Ye was once again taken to the Neijiang Brainwashing Center in July 2009 and held for two months.
Ms. He Jirong, 63, from Longchang was taken to the Neijiang Brainwashing Center two months ago. She is still in custody.

5. [Guangdong Province] Mr. Zou Changliang Arrested in Dongguan City
Mr. Zou Changliang, 27, from Huaying City, Sichuan Province, works part time in Dadun Village, Xintang Town, Zengcheng City. Mr. Zou and another practitioner distributed information about Falun Gong around 10:00 p.m. on June 12, 2010, by bicycle, near New Village in the Wanjiang District in Dongguan City. Personnel from the New Village Security Division arrested Mr. Zou, but the other practitioner was able to escape.
Officers from the Gonglian Police Station in the Wanjiang District, Dongguan City, forced Mr. Zou to lead them to his residence at 6:30 p.m. on June 13 and ransacked it. They confiscated many Falun Gong books. The police placed Mr. Zou in handcuffs and shackles. His clothes were covered with dirt. His wife fainted at the sight of him and was taken to a hospital for emergency treatment. The police proceeded to force Mr. Zou to lead them to the factory where another practitioner works, but did not find him. Mr. Zou's whereabouts are unknown.

6. [Hebei Province] Ms. Niu Huimin and Three Other Practitioners Arrested; Whereabouts Unknown
Li Jun from the Dingxing County Domestic Security Division led a group of officers from the Luxi Police Station and from the Dingxing Town government. They arrested Ms. Niu Huimin at home around 4:00 p.m. on June 12, 2010, and took her to the Luxi Police Station. Ms. Niu's family went to the station on the evenings of June 12 and 13 and saw Ms. Niu held in a room guarded by a female officer. Her family did not see her on the morning of June 14 when they again went to the station.
The same group of police officers broke into homes of three practitioners in Nanguan Village. That same afternoon, Ms. Yu Junqing and Mr. Wang Tianshu from Wu Village were arrested at home. Mr. Li Wenwu from Gucheng Town was also arrested at home. The four practitioners' whereabouts are unknown.
7. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Mr. Li Fengwu Subjected to One Year of Forced Labor
Mr. Li Fengwu from Guoxing Village, Gucheng City, Dingxing County, has taken care of his bedridden father at home for several years. He was arrested at 4:00 p.m. on June 12, 2010. Participating in the arrest were officers from the Baoding City Domestic Security Division, from the Dingxing County Domestic Security Division, and from the Sanjie Village Committee in Gucheng Town. They confiscated his Falun Gong books. Mr. Li is in the Gaoyang Forced Labor Camp, to be held for a year.

8. [Helong City, Jilin Province] Mr. Qin Yuncheng and Four Others Face Trial
Mr. Qin Yuancheng, Mr. Xu Yanliang, Mr. Han Songhai, and Ms. Li Li were arrested not long ago. They face trial. The police informed Mr. Qin and Mr. Xu's families.
9. [Laishui County, Hebei Province] Police Arrest Practitioners and Ransack Their Homes
Officers from the Zhaogezhuang Town Police Station and from the Laishui County Police Department, along with Baoding police, ransacked several practitioners' homes around 2:00 p.m. on June 12, 2010 in Bancheng Village and Guojiayu Village, Zhaogezhuang Town. The practitioners are Mr. Cao Jiwei and his wife, Ms. Meng Qinglian from Guojiayu Village; Mr. Zhang Keyi and his wife, Ms. Wei Chunlan; Ms. Cao Qingmei; and Mr. Meng Xianbing from Bancheng Village.
The police confiscated computers, printers, Falun Gong books and materials, and other personal property. Ms. Wei Chunlan was taken into custody, and her whereabouts are unknown.
The police also took away Mr. Wang Deqian's older daughter. (Mr. Wang is being held in Jidong Prison in Tangshan). She was interrogated and later released.

10. [Shenyang, Liaoning Province] Ms. Li Yuzhi Arrested
Ms. Li Yuzhi lives in the Tiantan Residential area in Shenyang City. Officers from the Shandongmiao Police Station arrested her on May 30, 2010. She is in the Zaohua Detention Center. According her family, the police had followed her for three days before the arrest.

11. [Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia] Mr. Li Yanjun Held in Custody
Mr. Li Yanjun, employed at the Hongmiao Mine in the Yuanbaoshan District, was arrested on June 13, 2010. Participating in the arrest were officers from the Malin Police Station, from the Yuanbaoshan District Police Department, and from the Songshan District Police Department. He is in the Songshan District Detention Center.
12. [Heilongjiang Province] Daqing Oil Field Party Secretary Threatens and Intimidates a Practitioner and Her Husband
Wang Gangjun is Party secretary of the Engineering Division of the Oil Extraction No. 1 Factory of the Daqing Oil Field Company. He attempted to force employee Ms. Li Junying to write a guarantee statement three months ago. Ms. Li refused to comply. Wang Gangjun proceeded to threaten Ms. Li's husband.
Wang called Ms. Li's husband, Mr. Liu Guotao, on June 12, 2010, claiming that the provincial 610 Office agents ordered Ms. Li to write three statements; if she refused to be "reformed," her husband and daughter would have to accompany her to a brainwashing center and pay 3,000 yuan. She would not be released unless she "reformed." Under tremendous pressure, Ms. Li's husband beat her.

13. [Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Bai Shizhong Tortured and Interrogated
Mr. Bai Shizhong, who was arrested on May 22, 2010, and whose home was ransacked, has been held in the Sijiazi Detention Center ever since. The guards interrogated him, using torture every day. The police are collecting evidence in an attempt to take him to court and give him a three-year prison sentence. His wife was unable to bear the blow and has been hospitalized. She is unable to take care of herself.

14. [Wuhan, Hubei Province] Elderly Mr. Gao Juxian Arrested, Home Ransacked
Mr. Gao Juxian, 65, from the Wuchang District was arrested on June 6, 2010, as he distributed information about Falun Gong near the Xianghe Bus Station. He was first held in the Nanhu Police Station and later transferred to the Yangyuan Brainwashing Center. His home was ransacked that same afternoon. The police confiscated Falun Gong books, a photo of Master, and informational materials.

16. [Yichun City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Guan Suming and Mr. Ye Liangjun to Be Tried
Mr. Guan Suming and Mr. Ye Liangjun from the Jinshantun District were arrested on September 5, 2009, as they distributed information about Falun Gong in the Fangzhuang Residential area in the Fengtai District, Beijing. They have been held in the Fengtai District Detention Center for nearly ten months. The police are trying to bring them to court.
17. [Dazhou, Sichuan Province] Four Practitioners Arrested
Four practitioners from a Fa-study group were arrested on June 11, 2010. Officers from the Dazhou County State Security Division and from the 610 Office made the arrests. An elderly practitioner was released right away; three others were taken to the Fuxing Detention Center.
The same day, officers from the Tongchuan District State Security Division and from the 610 Office arrested Mr. Gao Wei at home. He is also in the Fuxing Detention Center.
18. [Beijing] Mr. Liang Bo Severely Abused
Officers from the Haidian District Police Department arrested Mr. Liang Bo and issued an official arrest warrant that same day. Mr. Liang was held in the Haidian Detention Center, where he went on a persecution protest hunger strike. He was sent to the No. 999 Hospital to be force-fed. He ended up nearly suffocated and physically devastated. He stopped the hunger strike. Officers from the Haidian Detention Center took him back on the sixth day of his hospitalization.
19. [Xianyang, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Wu Guizhen Arrested
Ms. Wu Guizhen, in her 70s, was arrested on May 6, 2010, as she spoke with people about Falun Gong at Tibet Nationalities University; university security guards called officers from the Wenhui Road Police Station who made the arrest. She was taken to the Weicheng Domestic Security Division and is now in the Taerpo Detention Center in the Weicheng District. Ms. Wu was sentenced to one year of forced labor. Her family is forbidden from visiting her.
Ms. Wang Xueqin was arrested at the same time.
