(Clearwisdom.net) Chen Mingrui, deputy police chief of the Jingyuan County Police Department in Gansu Province, along with Pan Qianrui, captain of the local National Security Team, and six plainclothes police officers broke into Mr. Bai Sanyuan's home in Jingyuan county at about 7:00 p.m. on May 16, 2010. As a result, he went to hide in his barn. Three hours later, the police shot tear gas canisters into the barn, which immobilized him and made him dizzy. They then forced him into a police car and took him to the Jingyuan County Detention Center.
Immediately after arriving at the detention center, Mr. Chen was tied down on the "tiger bench" for five days. He went on a hunger strike for 19 consecutive days to protest the {illegal detention}}. As a result, he became emaciated, his lips turned purple, and his legs cramped. He was then taken to Jingyuan County Hospital for an intravenous injection.
Authorities at a Jingyuan County Court secretly tried Mr. Bai on June 18, 2010. The Court sentenced him to a prison term of four to seven years, but didn't announce the sentencing at the end of the trial. Mr. Bai is currently detained at the Jingyuan County Hospital.
